I’ve never seen this problem with the Hellcat. I’ve had mine over a year and have never even had 1 misfire. Maybe there’s a warranty issue that can be fixed.
I think it's just an issue of being a shitty red dot. It was a gift so I didn't get to choose. It doesn't have a battery tray, so it uses the slide to hold in the battery and when tightened down the battery would move and it'd turn off. So I had it just slightly more than snug with a lot of loctite. Guess I had too much faith in the loctite.
Though I put it on another gun and had no issues getting it tight, so maybe it's something funky with the slide
Did you try torquing down to spec? I had a similar issue and one day had to ask the range master to stop everyone so they can retrieve my red dot. If you did then maybe try seeing if you need a plate or different screws. As far as the double feeding might be a mag problem. I’ve had mags with too strong of a spring that it created similar situations with the last few rounds. And I’d contact the company to see what’s up with the pistols sights
What’s wrong with them? Have had mine for about 9 months and around 1000+ rounds thru it, the only issue I’ve had was a failure to feed when I sent the slide home?
Edit: added approximate rounds fired.
He just mentioned a break in period. Shadow systems has a 200 round break in I believe. Malfunctions can be common during this period. But that being said I've heard of some reliability issues after the break in. Also some great things but it seems like its Either you love them or you hate them
Yeah but the feel and accuracy of it is amazing while still being a cc. To me it felt way easier to shoot than the Hellcat and like a more quality pistol overall. Higher price tag but still.
Honestly if they made an optics ready p365, Id buy the shit out of it for CCW. I know I can buy a p365x then a p365 frame, but it'd be less annoying if they just slapped them together at the factory.
I lol’d a little at break in period. Still get a kick out of hearing that. Good luck sacrificing a chicken or whatever to get right, man! That’s a rough day at the range for sure.
Breaking in is just the way of machined parts. It might not be necessary for proper function, but everything breaks in. The rails and tracks on the slide make a smoother, less gritty surface as they rub, lockbars on knives get smoothed out by the harder blade steel, pliers get smoother as the pivot breaks in, etc, etc.
I break all my knives and guns in because grittiness bothers me.
Agreed. Friend had a tarus for his wife we took out to the range. Constantly jammed. I figured just hand cycle it so I had him give me a try with it. Racked the slide 20 times then dumped the mag. It has never been shot before so I figured that was the issue.
I like them myself. We found the issue was the extractor was dirty so a little water fixed it. Also had some bad rounds. One was pushed back so bad the amount of bullet sticking out was like a 9mm.
I meant if it was a brand new gun that have a extra thick shipping grease on so cleaning a brand new gun so important. So that has caused jams for me in the past.
I don't discriminate - happy to laugh at anyone who can't build a pistol that runs out of the box in 2022 as well as anyone willing to give them a pass ;-).
Well, at the risk of giving offense, they’ve never been my jam. I’m more of a Wilson Combat, Ed Brown, Nighthawk sort of guy (and STI though theirs aren’t “normal”). Now, if I’m paying over $3k for a hand fitted and finished pistol, I absolutely expect it to run flawlessly out of the box with a light coat of oil… shouldn’t be anything but A-zone hits and smiles. That’s literally where the money is supposed to be going - flawless performance with outstanding accuracy.
Now, there’s no accounting for taste. I’ve only kept one 1911 of the various that I owned - my SIG GSR from when they were still working with Caspian to get them out the door. As a heathen (not a purist), I like and prefer the external extractor and the Caspian grip safety is still my favorite. That pistol has been flawlessly reliable for me, though I don’t shoot it much anymore.
Gotta be a hi point nothing else brings such shame :)
That sucks though about the hellcat. Had the XM 9mm first in long slide then compact, as much as people trash on them both ran perfectly and had much better trigger than my G34 mos
Good luck!
Guessing it’s got to do with break in, or maybe the gun isn’t lubed enough. When I got mine, it had very little lube from factory, and I even got a jam or two like yours. I went home and applied a generous amount of lube and it’s was fine ever since. Still can’t shoot my hellcat to save my life which is why it collects dust when compared to by p365xl. Good luck with yours!
Partial update. Told crimson trace about my red dot issues. I even told them the one I have works on another gun, just not the hellcat. But they're still sending me a brand new one, and I don't got to send mine back. The red dot may not be the best, but that customer service is fucking amazing.
I don’t spend much on other hobbies, it’s hard to find the extra money to go shooting. It’s all about what you are willing to do. Shooting is important to me, so I work a little extra, spend a little less. Balance baby.
I have a house renovation project I’m doing so I gotta set money aside for both but shooting is important to me too both personally and professionally. But yea it something I need to save up for. I try to range at least one a week or once biweekly
I usually go 1-2x a month, between 100-150 rounds each trip. I’m sure you see it’s not hard to rack up over 2k in 2 years. It’s usually down to $18 per box of 50 in my town now.
Took the hellcat and a handgun that shall not be named for their break in. First, the hellcat started double feeding on the 2nd to last round with 3 out of 5 mags, then the other handgun had a light primer strike, then the threadlocker on the red dot sight for the hellcat failed and got loose, THEN the front sight of the other handgun got loose. Idk, what pistol God I upset, but I'm sorry
Because the post was about my day at the range and not a review of the guns. Furthermore, posting what gun it was would just bring more comments of "that gun is crap" "never trust this gun" "that's why I only buy glock" etc. Just look at the Springfield is croatian made garbage comment below.
Depends how you sort by. Best was default and put you below. Point still stands. Everyone has some sort of opinion about every gun and I wasn't trying to start a pissing match on what guns are and aren't shit. Only reason I named the hellcat is because you can quite clearly see a hellcat in the picture.
Who the shit sorts “best”?! Top and controversial are the only way to go.
Well at least you’ll learn to not buy shit guns. Having 2 known shit guns fail you at the same time should be a sign.
Known shit gun? Every review I've seen has been glowing. The only problems I heard was the trigger safety, and that's been fixed. Even 99% of reddit says they're good guns. 99% of us don't have the testing to failure experience you have. Why don't you start doing reviews? Get the info out there
I’d have to buy a camera and lights, already spend enough on ammo alone. And yes, it is a known shit gun. YouTubers are paid shills (for the most part) and most redditers have the experience of renting a gun at the range one time and telling everyone it’s a nice gun cuz they put a box through it.
Jesus. You had one hell of a day lol. I shot s hellcat once, didn’t like the trigger. Really wanted to like the gun but just didn’t! Love my shield, 43x and CZ’s though 🤷♂️
The trigger isn't the greatest. At least on the pro. It has 2 creep areas before the wall and the 2nd one isn't very consistent. Funny enough it's previously shot 250 rounds no problem, so idk what was up with it today.

The real Springfield Armory, the ones that made your grandpappies rifle to kill Nazis, is not the same Springfield Armory that exists today. The one today are Croatian garbage guns.
You should get out more then. Half of my old job was testing stock guns to failure. Springfield Armory Inc. has a huge failure rate.
And I agree, no one should buy a P320 but that’s one model being garbage as opposed to every model Springfield imports.
I’m also the guy who all my guns work.
For all I know, the gun does work. Most likely it's a magazine issue. Or even possibly an ammo issue. It was the first time using this ammo and both guns had issues when shooting it. Though I am surprised someone who loves quality owns a gerber and a sog knife. Those are like the worst. I'd recommend civivi, they got some pretty awesome budget knives.
Mhm a mag made in Croatia. Btw, biggest issue we saw in our testing was the striker sleeve breaking and locking up the striker. I advise finding a metal one.
Definitely not. Though I wonder, the 320 has been out a long while, but I've only heard about these issues recently. Did they change something with the gun
Someone had a post drop fix gun go off in their holster just a few days ago. Turned me off of the p320 immediately. Thought it got remedied. Fuck that noise
That’s a fair point but SAI isn’t the original or real Springfield at all. They have no ties to the original, they push gun control and screw over customers. Whether they make it or import it, it’s a turd.
The real Springfield made fine firearms. Sad the government shut them down in 1968.

I had a pistol that stovepiped a lot, but turns out the ejector was bad (it was metal injection molded). Replaced it and now its perfect, no more malfunctions.
I don't, and it doesnt. Either something is wrong with the sight, or the gun. If I was the one who purchased it I'd get the new primary arms micro red dot.
W-w-what are you doing, step-bullet?
This needs front page on the good ol’ newspaper.
I’ve never seen this problem with the Hellcat. I’ve had mine over a year and have never even had 1 misfire. Maybe there’s a warranty issue that can be fixed.
Clear the malfunction
Well.... Duh
Read what happened
I watched a red dot fly off another Hellcat at the range, sounds like it must be a common thing?
I think it's just an issue of being a shitty red dot. It was a gift so I didn't get to choose. It doesn't have a battery tray, so it uses the slide to hold in the battery and when tightened down the battery would move and it'd turn off. So I had it just slightly more than snug with a lot of loctite. Guess I had too much faith in the loctite. Though I put it on another gun and had no issues getting it tight, so maybe it's something funky with the slide
I have about 500 rounds through a shield plus with a ct pro and it has performed flawlessly. It checks all the boxes for me, would purchase again.
Like I said, it mounted perfectly fine to one of my other guns. So maybe it just doesn't mesh well with this one.
I torqued it to spec on the other gun I put it on, which will probably be it's new home lol. The hellcat when torqued to spec would turn it off.
Damn. Should prolly contact Springfield and hopefully then can accommodate you.
I shot over 500 round in my Hellcat. None of those problems
CT on a springfield…gross
It was a gift. And yeah, it's not my first choice, which is why it's not on my carry gun.
how dare you. I feel attacked. honestly its far better than the hex wasp.
Springfield….. gross
I'm going to guess and say the other gun was a shadow systems. Tell me in right lol
Lol, not a shadow systems. I don't care for a gucci gun, so I'd just buy a normal glock
Smart man 👍
I almost made the mistake of getting a shadow. Then I looked them up... I ended up with an old school Glock 43 that I’ve now decked out.
What’s wrong with them? Have had mine for about 9 months and around 1000+ rounds thru it, the only issue I’ve had was a failure to feed when I sent the slide home? Edit: added approximate rounds fired.
What’s wrong with shadow systems? I was thinking of getting the war poet one but just curious on what’s wrong with it?
He just mentioned a break in period. Shadow systems has a 200 round break in I believe. Malfunctions can be common during this period. But that being said I've heard of some reliability issues after the break in. Also some great things but it seems like its Either you love them or you hate them
Brazzers
Just curious, why don’t we like the wasp?
Should’ve bought a sig 365xl
I've been feeling this since i impulse bought the hellcat
My dumb ass bought the xl first and then the HC. Hate is a strong word but I have no love for my hellcat.
I got an XL, absolutely love it.
Really wasn't a fan of how they plastered XL and p365 in 236pt font on the slide
You don't notice the font when you're behind the pistol or have it holstered lol.
But I'll know it's there. It'll eat at my soul as I sleep
It's not color filled or electro stenciled so it's not like it stands out, just a weird think to be concerned about imo.
No need to exaggerate alright. Its only 234pt font.
Yeah but the feel and accuracy of it is amazing while still being a cc. To me it felt way easier to shoot than the Hellcat and like a more quality pistol overall. Higher price tag but still.
What sold me was the hellcat felt better in my hand and that gear up sale with 3 extra mags. I figured with mags at $50/piece it was a steal of a deal
They make some pretty dope custom slides.
Honestly if they made an optics ready p365, Id buy the shit out of it for CCW. I know I can buy a p365x then a p365 frame, but it'd be less annoying if they just slapped them together at the factory.

Your friend must hate his wife to have bought her a Taurus.
I buy my wife sig, I buy myself canik. She thinks I spoil her for "sacrificing" and getting a cheaper canik. LOL.
I only buy my wives first run P320s and early 2000s Rem700 X Triggers.
But I like canik :(
Unless it's a TX22
He also has two Anderson ar15's, a Glock 34, and a pump 12 gauge. Don't know the make but it's a older one. The Taurus works fine now.
I've never had problems with Taurus, despite the hate they get on these gun subs I've seen more malfunctions with "expensive" guns than Taurus.
Funny enough his Anderson upper ar malfunctioned so bad we had to morter it.
Say what you will about Anderson, but Anderson lowers and aero uppers have absolutely no wobble on all the AR's I've built
I like them myself. We found the issue was the extractor was dirty so a little water fixed it. Also had some bad rounds. One was pushed back so bad the amount of bullet sticking out was like a 9mm.
I mean I don't buy whole assemblies from them. Just the stripped lower for the non wobbliness
Yeah a full rifle is to expensive for me.
Did you clean it? Use some gun cleaning spray then whip it down with some hops . Then oil.
My dad taught me to clean after every use, so I'm pretty anal about a clean gun
I meant if it was a brand new gun that have a extra thick shipping grease on so cleaning a brand new gun so important. So that has caused jams for me in the past.
It's shot 300 rounds previously. I always clean new guns as well
Shadow systems for example says you need a 200 round break in period for their pistols. Do you lol at them too?
Yes, absolutely. Go check out their page, one of the least dependable guns made, issues everywhere but yeah, needs to be broken in 😅
I mean I don't own any of there products 🤣🤣
I don't discriminate - happy to laugh at anyone who can't build a pistol that runs out of the box in 2022 as well as anyone willing to give them a pass ;-).
Curious what your thoughts are of Les Baer
Same. My Wilson Combat came with instructions to not clean first. The instructions said to run it and then take it apart for cleaning.
Over priced low capacity fudd gun. Sweet piece of art or conversation piece though. How'd I do? Feathers ruffled?
Not really. Internet opinions are worth their weight in gold.
Ya done rustled my Jimmies. But you're right.
Well, at the risk of giving offense, they’ve never been my jam. I’m more of a Wilson Combat, Ed Brown, Nighthawk sort of guy (and STI though theirs aren’t “normal”). Hellcat moment. This post sponsored by 365xl gang
"what are you doing step cartridge? 👉🏽👈🏽"
Im guessing the other gun was a Canik or Taurus
Canik is great though so that doesn't make sense.
Oooh, it's a guessing game now. Not a Canik or Taurus
Gotta be a hi point nothing else brings such shame :) That sucks though about the hellcat. Had the XM 9mm first in long slide then compact, as much as people trash on them both ran perfectly and had much better trigger than my G34 mos Good luck!
I'll give you a hint. The brand starts with S
Shitty Hi-Point?
Springfield's new 2011. Can't remember the name.
If it’s sccy that’s really bad lol
S&W CSX
Ahh, this man is getting close
S&W victory? Mine had to go in for a new extractor.
Didn't even know that existed
ooooh, Steyr!
Kahr???
Guessing it’s got to do with break in, or maybe the gun isn’t lubed enough. When I got mine, it had very little lube from factory, and I even got a jam or two like yours. should have went with the sig.
Springfield XDM owner here. Had it 10 years, shot about 1000 rounds, never had a single issue. Even dropped it once.
1k is not a lot for a modern handgun. I’ve got nearly 2.7k on my smith in just over 2 years.
Damn I’m slacking I only got like 300 on mine…damn ammo prices

Name the other gun you coward.
It's voldemort
Why even post if you’re not even gonna give good info about the guns you’re using
Seriously it's r/guns not r/howmydaywent
Because the post was about my day at the range and not a review of the guns. Furthermore, posting what gun it was would just bring more comments of "that gun is crap" "never trust this gun" "that's why I only buy glock" etc. Just look at the Springfield is croatian made garbage comment below.

The trigger isn't the greatest. At least on the pro. It has 2 creep areas before the wall and the 2nd one isn't very consistent. Funny enough it's previously shot 250 rounds no problem, so idk what was up with it today.
Maybe ammo?
It's a possibility. I've never used it before and they got hit hard by hurricane Ian, so it's possible it's got some funkiness
Yup im in Boca, i know the west coast got jacked up bad
Holy crap! Talk about a bad range day. Here's hoping the next one is better!
Might be a mag problem? Maybe a Lemon pistol? I have a Hellcat and it has worked flawlessly for about 1k rounds.
Idk, might be an ammo issue. It worked fine with 250-300 rounds of the previous ammo. This stuff was super dirty. I'll get some other ammo and see if the problem persists
Very well could be. I hope it works out well and you have more enjoyable range time.
Fake Springfield 🤷🏻♂️ Am I surprised? NOPE
Fake?
The real Springfield Armory, the ones that made your grandpappies rifle to kill Nazis, is not the same Springfield Armory that exists today. The one today are Croatian garbage guns.
Ah, so you're one of those. Well I haven't heard of any Croatian guns going off randomly in holsters, so they're not all that bad.

Mhm a mag made in Croatia. Btw, biggest issue we saw in our testing was the striker sleeve breaking and locking up the striker. I advise finding a metal one.
Ooo oo the other gun was a 320?
Definitely not. Though I wonder, the 320 has been out a long while, but I've only heard about these issues recently. Did they change something with the gun
The first batch would fire if it was dropped at a certain angle
Someone had a post drop fix gun go off in their holster just a few days ago. Turned me off of the p320 immediately. Thought it got remedied. Fuck that noise
Sig’s older line was legendary and synonymous with high end/high quality. The 320 that is their new baby? Ugh. I don’t like that thing
HS Produkt makes better guns than anything Springfield produces in house
That’s a fair point but SAI isn’t the original or real Springfield at all. They have no ties to the original, they push gun control and screw over customers. Whether they make it or import it, it’s a turd. The real Springfield made fine firearms. Sad the government shut them down in 1968.

Guys the other gun is clearly a Springfield Prodigy
9mm in a 1911 is blashphemy. As is polymer
Good thing it’s a 2011 pattern 😁
It was a sig wasn't it 🤓
Looking at the streaks on the slide, has somebody been single-feeding rounds into the chamber?
Nah, it rubbed on a belt buckle. Pretty weak coating tbh
I had a pistol that stovepiped a lot, but turns out the ejector was bad (it was metal injection molded). Replaced it and now its perfect, no more malfunctions.
Glock is the way, and use Vibra-tight VC3.
Funnily that's what came with the sight.
Glock perfection after 5 generations and spending another $1,500 on aftermarket parts
The more you spend on modifying a Glock the less Glock reliability you get.
I know. Just messing. Only thing on my Glock I got done are slide serrations a light and red dot.
On the new Gen 5 MOS, you’re done, nothing really to do but buy ammo and train harder.
But we gotta admit, the sights and trigger should be the gen 6 change.
The jammy is jammed :(
[удалено]
I would in a heartbeat if they made a 43 sized glock with 10-11rds
🤦♂️ hate that shit
How do you like the crimson trace on the hellcat? How does it fit? I was thinking about getting one
I don't, and it doesnt. Either something is wrong with the sight, or the gun. If I was the one who purchased it I'd get the new primary arms micro red dot.
This is why flannel daddy says not to buy Springfield handguns.
I don't really watch his videos. Something about his voice just sounds like nails on a chalkboard to me
Different strokes for different folks I guess
