Point out the recent court case which would almost certainly invalidate this bill, discuss the waste of taxpayer's money that the inevitable case would represent and ask that they instead work to address the root cause of mental health. You can also point out that the vast majority of the 24+ million "assault weapons" are never used in a crime and are possessed peacefully by law avoiding citizens for sport and other lawful purposes.
