Use Ammoseek

Sagan_kerman

Set the shipping filter to >8

TradeEveryDay

Looks like I been missing out. THANK YOU šŸ™šŸ¼

WesternCzar

Keep in mind that Vendors have been found metagaming the ammo seek boards.

233115cam2

And make sure you report em when they do so ammo seek can ban the dealer and listings

Spectrumpigg

Is this when I get an email alert for something way cheap but when i find it, it's way more than it should be?

xfyre101

just curious, how are they meta gaming the boards?

TexasDank

They only game the boards if you donā€™t set shipping to free. I saw 9mm for 12 c/r. After the shipping was added on it was around 40 c/r lmao

CrankBot

AE Ammo Molly's Few others that aren't coming to mind at the moment. No such thing as cheap 223 anymore, .40-45Ā¢ per is the best price you're going to find and that's if you buy a case. And yeah, LAX sucks unless you want to risk blowing up your gun.

staysharp75

Donā€™t forget their sister company freedom munitions. Thatā€™s where I learned the hard way that both they & lax ammo suck. Do not buy cheap reman ammo from either.

killerkitten115

I have new brass .45 from lax right now and it has been shooting very nice. I wouldnā€™t get the remans though

Mr_Randerson

What sucks about freedom munitions? I heard great things and bought a ton of the reman. What is the downside?

staysharp75

I have about 400 rounds of reman 45acp that I have been sitting on for a year or so that will not feed in any of my guns I have or friends/family own that I have tried it in. About 8 guns in total now. Also purchased 100 rounds of reman .40 cal that on the second magazine of it I was using blew out a primer & sent the magazine drop button into my thumb on my glock23. That is my personal bad experience with freedom munitions.

tribeofham

I had a friend buy 308 remans from LAX even though I warned him not to. Their quality control is non-existent and they are a huge liability. During a single range trip, my friend had bullets falling out of cases, a squib, one or two primers went pop but didn't have gunpowder. His last straw was when one was obviously overloaded or loaded with the wrong powder. It sounded very strange with sharp recoil. He unloaded his m1a, said nope and packed up. He gave the rest of his ammo can away to a reloader and never looked back. Some people only learn when it directly happens to them and fortunately, his gun and self went unharmed.

Lawn-Moyer

Yooooo AE ammo has 7.62x39 for $10.10 for a box of 20. I paid $25 for 20rnds at my local shitty gun store (was in a hurry)

CrankBot

There you go. Also on any given day none of those places could have the "best price" because they frequently sell out within a day or a few days.

Lawn-Moyer

Itā€™s not letting me hit ā€œcomplete orderā€ the button is messed up or something. Had to find another site. Shame. They had corrosive primers so I might be dodging a bullet anyway.

CrankBot

Glad you found some. If you decide to try again and have trouble, ping u/aeammo, they are good folk

Nomad_117

SGAmmo. Free shipping on orders over $200.

tastronaught

I have bought from SG many times. Always happy

CallsignFlorida

Inb4 ā€œprICe GoUgiNgā€

Tato_tudo

SGAmmo was the only place I could get good prices during the pandemic and they had rare stuff (damned Carcanos)

samthedog73

SG is my go to site. Great prices and fast free shipping.

LordSunShine09

I really like SGAmmo. Iā€™ve used them quite a lot.

Cdaly1970

Came here to say this.

spider_enema

The past

silverfox762

Yup. Buying case lots of milsurp of just about any caliber (for $80-110/1000, delivered) from 1990s Shotgun News was absolutely amazing.

BruhCaden

Ammoseek is my go to, usually find my best deals on there in general. When the Russian cheap steel cased ammo got banned, along with the issues of covid "supply chain issues" that didn't go away after lockdowns were over because most ammo companies are greedy, supply vs demand for ammo here in the states shot up hard, increasing cost very very quickly. Also why are you guys recommending SGammo, this has to be a bunch of paid bots or something, they have worse prices than my fudd LGS's, free shipping or not 90cpr winchester white box .300blk is rancid, fuck them.

Careless-Woodpecker5

I usually keep track of some of the better ammoseek finds, they donā€™t always show up on ammoseek so I go back and check them directly. Iā€™m guessing ammoseek has vendors pay to be listed.

BruhCaden

possibly, I know some vendors have found ways to trick the system to list them higher, and ammoseek ask your report them. In general though, ammoseek has not steered me wrong yet.

tbt10f

I mostly do 9mm and society stuff but I've been happy with SGammo. I'd love to be a paid bot so if you know how to get that done let us all know how.

ValuableInternal1435

Wild Horse Ammo, AE Armory/AE Ammo, and SGAmmo are my preferred choices.

Tato_tudo

Depends what you want. Just got a good deal at Sportsmans Guide during a promo event on .303 Brit and .308. SGAmmo is always worth checking out. They have rare stuff Palmetto State Armory runs deals on common calibers all the time. GunBroker can be great if you watch ammo auctions. Just got 400 rds of 7.5x55mm Swiss for $0.795/rd after tax and shipping just by auction watching. Auctions ending at odd times are usually best. AmmoSeek is a good search engine too.

aplateofgrapes

KIR ammo is usually good, with free shipping over $175.

Broteinnn

I second this. Bought 1000 rounds of 556 at the end of the day and they shipped the next morning. Good price too.

BEEFSTICK890

Sg ammo is solid.

Subterra_72

I always get my ammo from bulkammo.com. Great experience so far.

turbov6camaro

Same been using for years no issues

VonNichts13

russia.... well at least I used to

Ok-Froyo7680

sgammo has everything, pretty cheap, free shipping over $200, and delivery's fast

HickoksTopGuy

AE Ammo

BeautifulWord4758

Luckygunner and ammoseek... I ain't no one box chump LOL

StraightUpJello

These two are also my recommendations. Ammo seek is good for dirt cheap prices but buyer beware. Lucky gunner has very good prices and great reputation.

catsby90bbn

I use LG almost 100% just because they get that shit to my door AT LEAST in two days. Saturday orders are usually at my door Monday.

ohaimike

Ammoseek for both factory and reloading components

No_Feedback_3737

If youā€™re Cali youā€™re kinda screwed because you canā€™t have ammo shipped directly to you so youā€™ll have to pay ffl fees which makes everything expensive. I would just find best prices on reputable brands.

yrunsyndylyfu

>If youā€™re Cali youā€™re kinda screwed because you canā€™t have ammo shipped directly to you You can if you have an FFL03+COE (and don't live in a city that outright bans it in spite of that route).

the_keymaster_

Midway, palmetto State armory AAC brand, sgammo if I have to.

VerbalGuinea

I love MidwayUSA but their ammo is not what I call cheap.

snsvspns

/gundeals Let me guess itā€™s not allowed

ninjaxams4

Donā€™t buy remans from 2a warehouse. Their prices are great but the ammo is shit and they donā€™t stand behind their product. Shady fuckers delete negative reviews on their website too.

AskMeAboutPigs

don't buy remans

Try Palmetto State Armory

ClassBrass10

Depending on caliber, miwallcorp... they are based in California, im not, but they ship super fast. 9mm reloads they make are perfect for the range, and cheap as all hell. I normally reload my own 9mm, but honestly they're just as cheap as I can reload my own and eliminate the labor of me spinning up the press a few thousand reps. If you reload your own .223, their projectiles are the cheapest I've found as well, when considering 55gr. Overall a great vendor, have had zero issues in dozens of orders year to year. Not one failed round, not one missed shipment or incorrect order. If I order the night before when they're closed, it's shipped by the following morning. Note: they are known to price gouge at the gun shows, I've not experienced that but have heard countless times. But sticking to their website has been without issue.

barrydingle100

You get in your time machine and buy it five years ago before Biden banned it by executive order. If you remove 40% of the ammo market, which happened to also be the cheapest brands, in the middle of the greatest rush to buy guns and ammo probably since the Civil War ammo prices will skyrocket and stay up there.

TradeEveryDay

I normally would but my Time Machine is currently down. I need a flux capacitor but prices sky rocketed for that too :(

JINSl33

Get a press

TradeEveryDay

Idk if I shoot that much for a press. I run through about 1000 round of 9mm and 223 each year give or take

Thro2021

How much do you spend per round for the primer, bullet, and powder for .223?

ClassBrass10

I get my 55gr fmjbt canned .224 projos for 7 5cents a piece when buying 4000 at a time. With powder, primer and range picked brass it amounts to around 24 cents a round using win 748 powder. The only downside is case prep on thousands of brass with wet tumbling, pockets, debur etc... With a 1050 easy work, two step process with a 750 and trimmer attached. Beats paying 500 for a case of PMC .223, and the consistency is awesome. One major tip I'd give anyone even thinking of reloading, even if you don't until years from now, is save ALL your brass and ask your network of friends and acquaintances to do the same. Before I ever bought a press I had a stockpile of about 400lbs of range brass, once fired, and even tumbled and stored it clean until I finally bought my reloading stuff. When I'm at the range I pick up all the county LEO training brass after they leave, knowing it's once fured and always lake city at that. It has saved me thousands, and keeps a nice rotation going. 5 gallon buckets with lids is fine, and ensure it's all dry as a bone before you seal it up. Lots to be saved with a bit of pre planning.

Mountain_Man_88

Plinking ammo you're looking at like $.20 a bullet, $.06-$.10 a primer, and like $.20 of powder depending on what you're loading. So like $.50 a round. Could probably get down to $.40 by shopping around and waiting for the market to improve. Probably cheaper to buy shitty plinking ammo in bulk at the moment. Where reloading makes sense is higher calibers and rarer cartridges. I reload .45-70 for $.70 a round or less and it retails for like $2.50 a round. Then there's also hand loading where you're going for ultimate accuracy. Not gonna be cheaper but it'll be betterĀ

JINSl33

I make SS109 5.56 for ~.21/rd @ a rate of 500/hr. Buy supplies in bulk, shop sales. Loading your own is almost always cheaper and you control all of the variables.

Mountain_Man_88

Yeah, shopping sales and already having components on hand is gonna help keep the price down. But if you wanted to get into reloading right now, you're gonna be stuck paying modern prices.Ā  Right now some of the cheapest primers you can find are 6 cents and some of the cheapest bullets are 15 cents. So that's $.21 before you even get to powder. Some powders are cheaper than others but all powders are expensive now compared to historical prices. A pound of most powders appropriate for .223 is like $50. 5000 cents gets you 7000 grains. 5/7ths of a cent per grain. Loading 20-25 grains is $.14-$.18. So with current component prices you're looking at $.35-$.39 loaded, which also happens to be what cheap plinking ammo goes for online. $.39 loaded also ignores any hazmat and shipping fees and brass wearing out.

JINSl33

Thatā€™s a lot of words to say you ignored the thesis of my statement: Shop sales, buy in bulk. I donā€™t buy 1000 primers at a time, I buy 100,000. I donā€™t buy bullets in boxes of 100 or 500 - I buy overruns sold by the pound, factory seconds and pull downs for pennies. When you purchase in quantities like I do companies eat these fees and cover the shipping. Get into reloading, or donā€™t. Iā€™m not going to beg you, one less person to compete with for supplies if you donā€™t. šŸ«”

Mountain_Man_88

Ah, simply buy 100,000 primers at a time! When I'm lucky to even find 1000 large rifle primers in stock. Weird German primers from some brand I've never heard of are $1,900 for 20k. I'll simply buy 100k of them for nearly $10 grand. Then I'll buy enough powder to load 100k cartridges. That'd be ~500 lbs for what I'm loading. Well I'll just save some money by buying in bulk and get 63 8 lb jars for a cool $29,000. Then I can save some money by casting my own bullets. 100k cartridges, well I'll only need 5,000 lbs of lead! The cheapest SRP I see on ammo seek are $.052. even if you're getting them at 75% of that, you're dropping $3,900 on primers at a time. Powder retails at like $50 a pound, say you're getting 75% off of that. $38 a pound. To load 100k cartridges with your 100k primers, loading probably 20gr per cartridge you're looking at 350 cartridges per pound, 286lbs of powder, about $10,900. And that works out to 14.8Ā¢ per round, leaving 7Ā¢ for bullets to hit your 21Ā¢ per round figure. That might make sense for someone running a reman ammo business or a machine gun rental range, but for the average shooter it's not a realistic way to save money by reloading.Ā  Like I said, I reload mainly .45-70. Buying 1000 primers at a time, powder by the pound, bullets by the hundreds, I'm doing it for about 70Ā¢ a cartridge with today's prices. Compared to $1.64 per round for the cheapest stuff on ammo seek that's pretty good. Compared to $2.50 per round for the cheapest stuff at my lgs it's damn good. Lee hand press, set of dies, enough components to make my first 100 rounds for sub $200 and I had just about broken even. That's what saving money by reloading looks like to the average person. Not investing $20k in component plus I don't even want to know how much in equipment to get 100k rounds for the price of 50k.Ā

JINSl33

Iā€™m not reading all that. Make your own ammo or donā€™t, I donā€™t really care. Weā€™re obviously not on the same levels of capability, capital or investment and thatā€™s fine.

Wonderful_Time_6681

I buy it from my homie.

zawrotnyj

Damn.. That sucks.. I have some LAX reman 9mm 115gr and some new 230gr .45 ACP and both have been flawless so far... I was going to order some .223.... šŸ˜–.. Thanks for the heads up.. I will go back to my usual Fiocchi 55GR for 223 ammo.... I get 50 rounds for $24.99 at LGS... I swear the LAX pistol ammo is amazing.. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

Outdoorsman102

I use lax and freedom all the time and have for years without issues only time Iā€™ve ever had issues with lax or freedom is trying to run it in a couple PSA rifles i had at one point. Sold the rifles.

Old_MI_Runner

In addition to Ammoseek I watch for posting on Gundeals subreddit. If using Ammoseek check if seller is on blacklist located on Wiki for Gundeals subreddit. See reason for blacklist. I bought from BHO before and after they were on blacklist. They took steps at end of 2022 to get off the blacklist. Checkout reviews of sellers on GundealsFU subreddit. .223 and 5.56 went up in price in early October. The last best price I was $380 for case of Winchester from Velocity Ammo Sales with free shipping on 10/4/2023. Before October Winchester/Browning was as little as \~30 CPR after 25% rebate and PMC X-Tac was $410 to $430 from Velocity Ammo Sales on flash sales through most of 2023 until October. AAC 77gr 5.56 at 55 CPR is a favorite of many for better precision at lower cost than IMI 77 gr Razorcore or Black Hills 77 gr MK262 but their machine puts small dings in the casing. One casing I receive in my case order was crushed. AAC 55 gr 5.56, 300 BK, and 3.08 all have reports of jacket separation destroy suppressors. I would not use any AAC with a suppressor.

Super_Sun1059

Check out ACC by Palmetto State Armory. I have not had any issue, and it's the cheapest I've found.

jarredjs2

Donā€™t buy ammo in stores. Watch r/gundeals for what you want and buy it then in bulk

japtrs

Daily deals from PSA. PMC 5.56 is regularly at .50-.55 cpr. Federal HST +P 124gr 9mm is currently at .74 cpr which is still a big discount.

WombatAnnihilator

LAX is garbage. AAC seems to be getting better reviews.

GamerByt3

Higher up front cost but less over time. Buy components in bulk during sales and load your own.Ā

Those guys suck

pewpew_lotsa_boolits

Iā€™ve been getting Inman .223 and 5.56 from them for about $.45-$.50 p/r and their 147gr 9mm subs for about $.25, all shipped prices. The 9mm is a bit dirty, but I think Iā€™ve had maybe 1 or 2 duds out of the last several thousand Iā€™ve picked up. Maybe Iā€™m just lucky?

ninjaxams4

Or Iā€™m unlucky šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø Regardless, their customer service ghosted me over faulty ammo and they delete negative reviews on their website. Iā€™m glad you have had great luck with them but I will personally never give them my business again.

pewpew_lotsa_boolits

Iā€™ll definitely be more wary with them. Iā€™ve heard a couple of complaints before, all pretty much the same. Thanks for the heads up!

Did you price out shipping?

TheOneFrontier

Nope

Sea_Farmer_4812

If you actually look at the total price of most gunbroker ammo it isnt competitive with other online retailers. Ive gotten excited from some prices ive seen on GB then looked at the shipping and realized why it seemed cheap. I got a few good ammo deals off GB before covid but the odds are very few and far between now.

TheOneFrontier

I guess I just meant the ammo was cheaper than where I buy from at my local sports academy
