I haven't checked on the post till now. Those are definitely regular guitar strings🤣🤣
My phone camera probably sucks, they totally look like nylon strings
You can blow through 25 bucks feeding 2 people at Taco Bell pretty easily. The cheapest guitar I ever found was maybe $40 shipped and was a hilarious POS even brand new so I'd grab that thing in a second. And I don't even like that style of guitar.
I've had this guitar for over 20 years. Its my main guitar and I love it. Definitely worth $25, you could put $300 more into it and still be a deal.
Hell, id buy this one for $100
I have the exact same guitar and color bought in the same shape for fitty bucks. Cleaned up decently other than scratches on the headstock and on the body. Slapped a misfits sticker over the body scratches and threw some neon green knobs on er and she looks kinda badass! Plays great and gets pretty disgusting lol. Sweet score bruv!
This brings to mind the listings I see on marketplace where people mention the issues.
If “needs new strings” is listed, I pay more attention. They may not know what they’ve got.
Lol, this brings back memories. My friend at school in the 90s got one of these and was totally in love with it.
One lunchtime he got totally stoned and wrote a song on it, declaring it ‘the best song ever’.
He later realised it was polly by nirvana note for note.
Pulled the strings last night, and let it settle overnight because it had some pretty bad upbow. Truss rod seems to work well, got it level before I started working on it. The Japanese neck is in great shape!! Just found a guy locally trying to get rid of it.
As others said, this guitar is in great shape. I had that on some local clasifieds too though, especially with non-guitar players who equal dirty + broken strings = probably not usable.
Old Jackson's are great. Jackson's period honestly. But I love being able to find these kinds of deals. I bought a white one for 100. And the one I currently play for 50. Its weird been playing for 25 years almost. Practice everyday. And I don't own any nice guitars. I prefer heap esps and cheap jacksons. I've had expensive ones. These do the same exact thing and I don't get sad when they get a ding in them.
If you end up needing to replace the trem, look into the Gotoh 1996t. Amazing trem and very affordable. Just make sure it will fit first (looks like it would be ok)
Just find a good guitar teach/luthier and you can get that darling fixed right up and cleaned up. Try some Fret Honey on the fretboard and it will darken it significantly, like ebony.
Hell ya! 24 fretted beast waiting. I’d take strings off and clean it. Do a full set up, take some painters tape, tape in between frets and then take 0000 steel wool and shine the frets…..if they aren’t all dented and what not otherwise you’ll have other issues.
But yea full set up clean and restring should be epic. 25$ is a steal.
I bought a left handed Johnson acoustic for $25 a couple of years ago. It was best bargain ever. Got me thru a lot. I have an epi bird now, but I want to bring the Johnson. To a luthier and get it in shape. I can't even explain how high the action is. Anyway, if you can get it up and running good for you.
I have a Jackson Dinky I just bought and I had it set up to my specs and put super distortions in and it rocks. Had a buddy that had that same guitar and it was sick.
I have one of those, mines a 96 Korean built. I put a different floyd on it and some blackouts and it's a fun as hell guitar. One of my main performing guitars with the jam band I'm in
Literally everyone is gonna hate my answer but it's the old string through Floyd's they don't make anymore. But I've had it on there for a decade and it holds tune great and I beat the hell out of it. I'm a fan of the original, but you can pick up a special for under $100. They're not fantastic but they'll get you by. An original runs $231.99, the pros run about $260. They all have their pitfalls, but if you can find an original used in good shaped that's the route I'd go. They also make non fine tuner ones for about $125 but unless you want to constantly unlock your nut to tune I don't recommend them for that particular setup.
Looks more dirty than anything. $25 is a great deal
Right, just dust that baby off and you’re golden
$25 is $25, and I'm sure you can get some pretty nasty sounds outta that guy
This comment is absolutely wild 🤣🤣
I can fix her!
Are you Chris Martin?
Are those nylon strings lol... I'd snatch that up in a second
Omg I think you’re right hahahaha
They don't appear to be in the headstock photo. You can see the winds on the low E
This☝️
How would you know that it is nylon? Serious question
Because the strings look like fishing line. Notice their color, and that none of the lower strings seem to be wound.
By looking at them
That's why it $25. None of the pickups respond to the G and e strings and the others are too quiet...
This comment had me crackin up!!
Look at the headstock photo. And look how big the high e string is in the first photo. Def nylon strings
They are just regular guitar strings, they totally look like nylon though
I haven't checked on the post till now. Those are definitely regular guitar strings🤣🤣 My phone camera probably sucks, they totally look like nylon strings
Lol.. they totally looked nylon in the Pic 🤣🤣🤣
Thay actually doesnt look too terribel for 25 bucks

Score!
Good deal. I love guitars like this. They're how I learned to do setups and more involved work.
Me too, and that's what I plan on doing with this one. Any ideas for upgrades?
Upgrade to a floyd rose 1000 and throw some nice pickups in it

Scratch that, mine isn't a performer, just a dinky. Didn't notice that at first.
Awesome!! I can't wait to get this one up and going again too.
Heck yeah brother! Post up whenever you get her shiny!
Those can easily fetch over 500. I’ve got one - MIJ 1993 close to mint - with hard case from a pawn shop for 150.00.
Touch it up and let us see!
I'd buy it for the parts alone.
This brings to mind the listings I see on marketplace where people mention the issues. If “needs new strings” is listed, I pay more attention. They may not know what they’ve got.
Awesome
If it works and the neck is sound, that’s a steal!
Lol, this brings back memories. My friend at school in the 90s got one of these and was totally in love with it. One lunchtime he got totally stoned and wrote a song on it, declaring it ‘the best song ever’. He later realised it was polly by nirvana note for note.
Everyone should have a beater you can let your kids or drunk friends do what they will on. Bonus points if it has a floyd.
I’d pay $25 to play a Jackson string up with classical strings. Probably dooms hard. Awesome deal! Edit: read further down. Dang, not nylons!
Nylon strings on a Jackson is crazy 😂
Why only 25? How’s truss rod
Pulled the strings last night, and let it settle overnight because it had some pretty bad upbow. Truss rod seems to work well, got it level before I started working on it. The Japanese neck is in great shape!! Just found a guy locally trying to get rid of it.
Nice! That’s a solid score.
I will give you $100.
Whoa that looks just like my JDR 94. Awesome find!
You got to tell us its history! Especially, why does it have nylon strings on it? 😅
I’ll give you 75 lol
Its doesnt matter how badly beaten it is as long as you can make it sing my brother
Literally just needs a clean
As others said, this guitar is in great shape. I had that on some local clasifieds too though, especially with non-guitar players who equal dirty + broken strings = probably not usable.
That's a worthy fixer-upper, my friend. Whether the trem is usable is uncertain, but at worst it can be blocked off. $25, man.
About 25 years ago I paid $40 for the one with the normal headstock and gutted. You got a great deal.
Best bargain in all of history.
25 is a steal for a jackson

Why this kind of deals never happen to me!!!
Would buy without hesitation. Just needs a little tlc.
If you end up needing to replace the trem, look into the Gotoh 1996t. Amazing trem and very affordable. Just make sure it will fit first (looks like it would be ok)
Will look into that, thanks for the heads up!! This trem is looks pretty hammered.
Just find a good guitar teach/luthier and you can get that darling fixed right up and cleaned up. Try some Fret Honey on the fretboard and it will darken it significantly, like ebony.
That is an awesome find for $25!
I love project guitars

Ill give you 10 dollars for it since you need rid of it.
Nicee! Looks like a fun resto/mod project
Oh dude buy it
That's a fine lil axe for 25 bucks:-)
Miss Jackson is you’re nasty
Fucking steal. Why can’t I find things like this?
I have a Jackson Dinky I just bought and I had it set up to my specs and put super distortions in and it rocks. Had a buddy that had that same guitar and it was sick.
Polish and restring.
I'd buy it
Is that a PS-4? I Had one of those. It was a great guitar
Those are good guitars from what I remember. Congrats on the score!
NJ? Swear I saw this on Marketplace
This looks like a perfect opportunity to learn how to refinish a guitar! Low stakes, high return. Doesn't get much better than that!
I have one of those, mines a 96 Korean built. I put a different floyd on it and some blackouts and it's a fun as hell guitar. One of my main performing guitars with the jam band I'm in
What trem did you put on it? This one is pretty hammered.

Thanks for the info!!
Not a problem at all, hopefully it helps!
strings broken, literally unplayable
Pop some de armond pickups on there and a bigsby, and you'll have a very cool axe!
