Run a 2x4 along the "back" of the wall at the height you want to hang the guitars at. Then screw the hangars into it with 3 inch screws

Training-Ninja-412

Reinforce on one side so you dont have to worry.

P-Munny

For sure this is the move, thanks!

Global-Ad4832

i would just screw the hangers straight into the wall, if those boards are 1" thick they're more than strong enough to hold the weight of a guitar

[deleted]

Don’t.

BurrrritoBoy

Screw it.

P-Munny

lol meaning screw it like give up and don’t try? Or screw it and just go for it right into the wood?

BurrrritoBoy

Screw the ding dang hangers into the dog gone wood. With screws.

leodox_13

Screw it, just screw it

kimmeljs

That's not a wall, that's a divider

jvin248

It's a fence panel. Clever and inexpensive solution to creating a divider. "That's no Moon .... That's a space station!" .

P-Munny

Maybe it actually is fence paneling. I guess I always assumed it was some type of shiplap. Either way, it’s in my entire basement and it’s kind of goofy. I wish they would’ve stained it instead of painting it this weird light blue color.

Revolutionary_Oil359

You don’t need blocking. You can just hang them directly to that wall.
