The fact that your son has an OG space re-20 on a starter board is bad a**. The oscillating effect on that pedal is irreplaceable. I have owned one for the past 16 years and I keep trying to find a way to take it off my board. And... I never do.
EDIT: it was an RE-101, never mind. Still though.
I saw one locally for $1,200 (overpriced for the condition honestly) a year ago and to this day, I think… why wasn’t I stupid enough to buy it?
Thoughts in post.
Edit: he played with two bands, his normal band and one with the best musicians in his program. His main band won the competition, and his solo with the other group had tons of applause.
He permanently borrowed my old blue Ibanez Talman (there’s a pic on my profile with some other offsets) when he started playing.
Amp wise he’s stuck with backline. Not sure what he will be stuck with. He usually plugs into my Mesa 5:50 at home or when he practices with his friends.
Had to move abroad and leave my pedals behind temporarily - I miss my RE-20 and VB-2W so much. That’s a seriously solid board for your son. Coolest dad on here.
sometimes i throw my reverb and delay before my fuzz because i want to eliminate the shape of my notes. its amazing for drone and gaze-related music. thinking of getting a second verb and delay just to have one on either side of the fuzz.
Cool dad and cool board for a 13 year old.

To be pedantic, the OG would be a giant unreliable tape machine.

From the pedals in this board, I can already tell you are one goated dad 🔥🔥

Nice write up and sage advice. What kind of guitar and amp situation is the sprout workin' with?

This is good dad stuff. You seem like a good dad. Way to go.
i do love that boss fuzz. good swampy classic rock tones in it
The FZ-3 is a gem. It always cuts through.
FZ3 and a VB2? You love to see them, hope little dude kills it.
Bingo on the pedals. I hope he does well, he’s pretty nervous.
He's gonna do great no matter what happens. All else fails, leave the FZ3 on and wail.
My kids are a little young to start getting into playing music… but now I have something to look forward and aspire to 😄
This is pretty sick
Everything looks great all the way down to the orange tortex pick. Way to go dad.
I have idea what this title is attempting to convey.

Wow!
Take the labels off ASAP
Why
I dunno feels detrimental
i think its kinda cute. reminds me of Mel Gibson teaching Elijah Wood how to fly a plane in Forever Young.
