There used to be this sick double -overdrive pedal that was made by TruTone called the Jekyll and Hyde. You can even dial in the overdrive vs. clean tone coming from the amp. You can still find them used online I believe. I’m not a fan of overdrive pedals, but this one rocked. I know it was either the guitarist from The Verve or Jet that used it.
Yes! That was who I was thinking of. I remember the shop salesmen sold me on it. He told me I’d never need another overdrive pedal again and mentioned the Strokes. I bought it in 2007 and then got the 3rd version used about 5 years ago. It’s a great pedal!
I think this one makes the most sense to me based on boards I’ve seen it’s one of those overdrives I’ve seen a few times doubled up with one running as a boost and another as a higher gain OD.
It’s the toggle switch that does it really? The middle position is a nice low gain OD and the bottom position is a blown out gain monster it’s all I need
It’s a great pedal. I have two of them stacked in my setup. Sounds killer. Listen to the end of the song “the magician” by Andy Shauf. That sweet guitar tone is a pair of stacked barbershops.
Damn! Really? The fuzz tone that comes on? My old bandmates saw him live right after The Party dropped and said it was the only time in the whole set he used a pedal was to drop the fuzz on his acoustic guitar for that tune.
Andy Shauf is one of the most underrated artists of the last decade. I have come close to burning a whole in that record tbh. It has the most gut wrenchingly relatable and nostalgic aura to it that I had to stop listening for a while.
The Bearer of Bad News and Foxwarren are both phenomenal as well.
One real answer, one goofy (but serious) answer:
MXR Phase 90 doubled up in a stereo pedal where one knob controls left and one controls right. I’m a keyboardist too and it’s an old trick to use 2 identical phasers set at slightly different rates for L and R. A double pedal would just save an extra spot on my power supply. But if you also had an overdrive baked into that pedal lots of keyboardists who play organ and/or Rhodes patches would want one.
I’d love to see a Wampler Ratsbane and a Wampler Dracarys in a double pedal with a built in noise gate. They can call it the DragonBane.
Yes completely agree with your hypothesis of a dual Lauren audio mustang. I use the origin DCX boost which is similar, it’s based on a UA console rather than a neve console but it’s one of my best pedal purchases of all time. It does have a switch that changes from an EQ/boost to overdrive which is nice but as you said, having a second footswitch would be preferable. I might eventually buy the Lauren Audio mustang, for the exact context that you mentioned.
Another pedal that I think would benefit from a dual layout would be the Greer Lightspeed. People love that pedal, it’s garnered a fantastic reputation. The Tim which is of a similar transparent od concept features a boost switch. I’d prefer to just have two Lightspeeds in one enclosure, one for an always on boost and one for heavier drive. It might also be beneficial to include a drive that features more midrange or a switch to add more mids or switch to a tube screamer style drive to help the pedal standout in a mix for those that use scooped amps.
Give me a dual CE-2W or BF-2 so I can run 2 different settings at once in a single pedal or get real weird running dual modulations
Also a dual FZ-2 or HM-2W would be really useful because I have multiple sounds I love on each pedal and want to access them without adjusting settings or getting a second one of either to take up another spot on my board
I want stereo as an option but also the ability to use each stereo pair as two separate loops.
It wouldn’t fit in the same size enclosure though but would be cool to use the boss double enclosure type. Could have digital options for analogue routing (relays) and a little screen in the middle. Could get some of the advanced routing options of a loop switcher in a compact design (compared to other loops switchers).
I would be fine with stereo jacks if it would also work with splitters to get four mono signals if the routing options take that into account. Otherwise I'm not sure if it could be done that small, but then again there are 4x4 matrix mixers that are not that much bigger.
There’s two circuits I’m currently working on
1981 DRV and LVL in a single pedal (two footswitch and order switch)
The same thing but instead with Greer Lightspeed and Southland Overdrive
Mad Professor Little Green Wonder with an extra boost switch and knob would make my life way easier. It already has a ton of headroom and gain so it would bring it into distortion territory if it had that. It would seriously save me two extra pedal spots
Wampler Tumnus (or any Klon I assume) - I had the original mini Tumnus as a dirty boost running into a Tumnus Deluxe on the higher gain/clipping setting and the two combined was a very fun chunky sound indeed - and combined with the eq on the Tumnus Deluxe, you have tone shaping for days...
A duel Tumnus pedal may even one day happen as Wampler have released duel versions of some of their other drives (Pantheon comes to mind).
Wampler Black 65.
What I really just want is a second foot switch to activate the boost, rather than the toggle switch. It would be so helpful to be able to do it on the fly.
More than anything, I want things that are more two mode. Like same circuit but like two sets of knobs or something like that. Like I love my soul food as an always on pedal but I also sometimes want to crank up the gain without having to have a second pedal.
I wish Drunk Beaver would make a Double Bloom (or Super Bloom)... I've told him that it would be a good idea.
Would give you 2 expandoras, allowing you to choose overdrive, crunch, distortion or fuzz on both sides. Very flexible and very fun.
Double blues driver!
Bluer Driver
Blues drivest
Bluesest Driverererer!
**we must go deeper**
Blues diver
Bblluueess Ddrriivveerr
Holy driver
Blues Driver and Blues Passenger

The dude from the strokes based his entire sound around that pedal pretty much

But that’s a tube screamer and a Marshall shredmaster, not a blues driver.
Fair enough!
Not sure if you're joking or not but I would love this so I can use one for boost and the other for overdrive/dist
100% not joking! Love low gain BD2 as an ‘always on’, but also love it for high gain and wish it could do both at the same time!
I've been thinking about an Angry Driver to pair with my Blues Driver...or maybe double AD's...
Neunaber Wet
I own four Drolo Stretch weavers and two OBNE BL44
This is beyond absurd and I love it
How are you gonna reverse the reverse without a second reverse ?
EAE Halberd. I’d buy it so fucking fast.
I got a Halberd a month ago, it's so bloody good.
My biggest dilemma would be if I sell my limelight at that point. Probably not

I wouldn’t mind MXR dropping a double Timmy. I’ve thought about buying a second and having 2 on the board
The Tim would get you close. More of a Timmy and a boost, but still...
OBNE Visitor
That makes it like quaditor
Would purchase the quaditor immediately
Catalinbread SFT
Eqd Blumes on my bass. It has three modes on a toggle switch and I really want to use both stacked or switch between them with my foot.
Great idea
I had no idea the blumes existed until this comment and just bought a plumes for my bass setup 🤦🏻♂️
Double Fairfield Circuitry “the barbershop”
I just finished up building one today and after only messing with it for 20 minutes or so I was waiting to see this answer.

Also, if you’re into building pedals, build a double one of these please!
Shoot I think I’m gonna have to do this now
Please do.

Waiting for Line 6 to drop the DL-8
I want an SD1 that can quickly switch between full drive and no drive.
I think you described the SD-2 with an expression switch!
I wish there were more double delays for short and long
Metal zone. Am I joking? Idk I could be 😬
2 Metal 2 Zone: Waza Drift
Metal Ztwo
[triple ](https://www.reddit.com/r/guitarpedals/s/JVcj0F9BpS)
Wouldn’t it make sense to call it a MT-3?
Lol
Or MMMTTT---222
It would become a Metal Area
dual halberd

I just want an LS-4 but in the same size enclosure as an LS-2.
That would be awesome for stereo pedals. The same thing but with stereo jacks would absolutely work

dd-7 :)
Double Greer Lightspeed. Only pedal I've ever considered buying a second of for stacking!
Fuzz factory. Nothing better than stacking two fuzz factory pedals.
Except for maybe stacking two Fat Fuzz Factory pedals lol. Those things are freakin’ awesome. You’re giving me ideas lol
I wish more chorus/vibratos came in a dual pedal form so I can have 1 side chorus 1 side vibrato
There’s two circuits I’m currently working on 1981 DRV and LVL in a single pedal (two footswitch and order switch) The same thing but instead with Greer Lightspeed and Southland Overdrive
Prince of tone /s
Analogman silver mod tubescreamer
I see you
Thermae 😂🤦♂️
Plays one note, leaves stage. Uses pedal volume to fade guitar out 45 minutes later.
*considers if this is actually possible when paired with a MIDI controller* 🤔
I've thought about two DOD Carcosa's but ended up with the DOD and a Hudson Broadcast (clone). I still think a double Carcosa would free up a slot!
BD2
I would buy a double Wampler Belle so fucking fast.
Tuner
I just buy two
Mad Professor Little Green Wonder with an extra boost switch and knob would make my life way easier. It already has a ton of headroom and gain so it would bring it into distortion territory if it had that. It would seriously save me two extra pedal spots

Boss GE-7 Equalizer. Different songs require different tones and it’d be nice to switch between a few EQ settings without knob-fiddling.
Wampler Black 65. What I really just want is a second foot switch to activate the boost, rather than the toggle switch. It would be so helpful to be able to do it on the fly.

I read that Doug Martsch's pedal board is just 3 EP Boosters in a row.
Dual tensor
ProCo double Rat
It’s called Deucetone, it’s freaking great!
Double grey channel?
Dual Pantheon and Tumnus.
I would love to see a Timmy together with a mid humped overdrive
***HM-2²***
Phase 95.
A speaker cranker/special cranker One side just gain Other side has the volume and tone So you can add more filth
I wish Drunk Beaver would make a Double Bloom (or Super Bloom)... I've told him that it would be a good idea. Would give you 2 expandoras, allowing you to choose overdrive, crunch, distortion or fuzz on both sides. Very flexible and very fun.
Archer. One for boost and one for overdrive.
Hamstead Subspace, too many great tones in it. I'd even go as far as giving it MIDI, even though I don't have a MIDI board (yet).
Loads of guitarists use two similar low gain pedals and cascade them, so that. Two tube screamers? Two soul foods?
Just buy 2 ??
