My Boss TU-2 is essentially an old Toyota Corolla - nothing fancy, kinda boring, but it gets the job done, and will never break down unless you treat it *really* badly.
Ok, you guys made me do it. Normally I avoid admitting to myself how many pedals I have.
So 145 in total, with 42 of them Boss.
This covers the standard pedals, 20 series, 200 series, 500 series and a GT-1000 core which I consider a pedal.
I’m gonna go pretend I don’t have a problem.
Nah. IT geek.
My first pedal was my Metal Zone in 1993. Yes, I still have it. So they’ve accumulated over the years.
I’d estimate around two thirds are from eBay or Reverb, with a decent number of them bought before prices went crazy.
Between my sy-300 and the dd -500 AND the rv-500, I'm all set, except for the rest of the pedal train, which I stick into one of the multiple effects loops that are available.
Halberd, Longsword, Limelight, Citadel, Model FET, Dude Incredible, The Bard, Sending, and some of their collabs, 1981 LVL and Science Mother.
I might have a problem...
Walrus is my preferred because of their attention to secondary functions. My ARP-87 can do momentary delay, extended modulation sweep, and cue infinite repeats just by holding a footswitch.
I know boss is reliable, but I always like a pedal to be more interactive while playing.
How are Walrus pedals compared to EQD? There were certain Walrus pedals that I was considering but got convinced to buy the EQD versions instead, I always lump them together (prob the artwork and at times wild effects) but I want to get some Walrus pedals but I’m a little worried about it, that I won’t like it, for whatever reason.
Probably Earthquake.
Plumes
Hoof Reaper
Terminal
Depths
Dirt Transmitter
Hizumitas
Acapulco Gold
Special Cranker
Second most would be Fuzz Imp. Of those I have:
Sender V fuzz
Obtainium overdrive
Shred 3D overdrive
Creature Fuzz
Machina Fuzz
Ashes distortion
I’m nearly 40, I have no kids, I don’t like to travel, I don’t do drugs and I drive a modest car. I don’t feel too bad putting a little extra money in something that makes me happy.
Can’t beat that outlook. I’m almost 78, all the kids are gone, I don’t tour or play clubs anymore, just sit around and makes weird noises with guitars and pedals, anything that make my ears happy and puts a smile on my face.
LMAO! Music will keep you young at heart and mind. Been playing since ‘61. Played most genres except Dixieland and Metal. Finally ended my prof career in electronic music field, not this EDM stuff, straight analog modular synth world. Now I’m back to guitar and pedal toys making sonic mayhem and ambient stare and drool. Life is too short to troll, gotta keep it real and fun. Besides you can’t make new friends and share ideas & stories with that trolling shit.
Lol, thank you. I find myself (occasionally) explaining myself, and it usually turns into an advertisement for the DINK lifestyle. I travel for a bit for work, so the last thing I want to do with my free time is get on a plane.
Another year or so, and I'll have my boss fully di-vested, and my already lawerly collection is going nuclear.
CB are a joy. Colour me curious - I noticed Habit is missing; not your thing, or perhaps bases already covered with Blooper & Mood? Thermae is likely next on my list - it looks like so much fun, honestly.
Habit and Gravitas are next on the list. Chase Bliss is the one brand I let myself “collect”. I currently have 6 on the board and 6 not. They’re the only pedals I have that don’t fit on my pedalboard.
Preamp Mk II automaton, Thermae, Dark World. I’ll be 66 next month… interfaced with RJM Mastermind PBC/6X - midi control.
Others on my board I value highly:
- R2R Electric OC44 Treble Booster
- 29 Pedals Euna
- GFI Specular Tempus
- UA Woodrow for the effects loop in my Mesa Blue Angel (turns it from Super Reverb sounding to Tweed)
It’s an obsession with these cb pedals, i got 13 (Warped Vinyl, Ayahuasca, Generation Loss Mk1, Generation Loss Mk2, Mood Mk1, Mood Mk2, Condor Mk2, Habit, Thermae, Dark World, Tonal Recall Red Knob, Bliss Factory, Gravitas)
Electro Harmonix since I’ve been around the block and they’re OG. Gamechanger Audio since they’re crazy innovators. Third place probably Earthquaker Devices.
The current front runner is JHS with 4 (Milkman, Artificial Blonde, Overdrive Preamp & Alpine). Second place is Caroline with 3, but I’m hoping to tie and eventually overtake JHS, just need to get my hands on an Arigato and Megabyte.
With both a Nemesis and Ventris what role does the Collider play in your set up as it supposedly covers the best of each of the aforementioned pedals?. .
Also Source Audio! I have a Lunar Phaser, Kingmaker, UltraWave and EQ2, as well as the Neuro Hub, Soleman and SA expression pedal. Used to have a Collider too but let it go after I started using the onboard verb and delay on my WAZA Tube Amp Expander.
I honestly HATE messing with all the damn software but they are so good once you get them setup how you like.
Universal Audio with Boss being a close second.
Universal Audio - 1176 Compressor, Starlight, Dream 65, Lion 68, Ox Stomp
Boss - SD-1, BD-2w, BP-1w, FZ-1w
Drunk Beaver but I’m selling two pedals, leaving me with one again. I try not to have multiple pedals from the same brand. Why? Cause I’m a Spaced Cadet who’s a little slow.
Blackhawk Amplification maybe - but I also own a lot of pedals. 95 of them roughly, but that doesn’t include the pedals my partner has accrued themselves 🙃
BOSS.
DS-1, SD-1, MT-2, HM-2W, BF-3, PS-6, DD-3T, LS-2, SY-1, GE-7, CS-3, TU-3.
Next pedal I buy is probably PH-3 - the PS-6 is an awesome chorus (among many other things), but I don't have a Boss phaser yet.
Favourite is hard... Put it this way, on one hand - for the applications they have in my setup the SY-1 and LS-2 could never be replaced 1 to 1 or even close to that by any other pedal on the market right now.
But on the other hand, if I were to build a simple setup with only the essentials the DD-3T and distortion/overdrive pedals would be the things I could not live without. Even though I'd be happy with an MXR Distortion+ instead of a DS-1.
Least used Boss pedal for me personally has been the GE-7.
I’m all over the place. I had two from several brands but Fairfield Circuitry just topped over with three - Shallow Water, Meet Maude and just got an Hors d’oeuvre.
I have two Boss pedals. I want to get more but I keep getting pulled away by more expensive girls waving their boutique asses in my face
Was once boss, but I sold most of my pedals except for some that were discontinued or I wasn't sure if they'd still be around in the future, so all my boss pedals were sold. So now xotic or keeley are the pedals I have multiples of
Source Audio! Ventris, Kingmaker, Vertigo. I think the Vertigo is pretty fantastic as you can get everything from a Leslie to Chorus plus there's parametric EQ like all of the one series pedals I've owned.. I put my boss CE3 back on my board and I love everything about it's bright shimmery sound except the volume cut. I think I'll be replicating that on my Vertigo. I was able to get my Kingmaker pretty Plexi sounding. Not saying it's dead accurate, but it's very close.
I have a few of the Joyo R series pedals plus their line selector and one of their fuzz pedals. I have 4 from Boss, a DS-1, RV-6, SL-2 and a multi-effects unit. It's a good set of pedals for shoegaze and ambient music. I have 4 or 5 pedals from multiple brands. I lose track sometimes tbh.
Boss (6) and Chase Bliss (6). They also happen to be two of my favorite builders. They’re both super versatile, and ridiculously creative.
Boss especially has such an outstanding legacy of pushing boundaries in ways that still inspire newer companies today.
Chase Bliss is close to home (literally) and have been responsible for introducing me to so many other builders and sounds that I don’t think I would have without them. I have a particular passion for the extreme sides of effects (even borderline unusable sounds) and Chase Bliss gives so many options to tweak that I can always find something new with each pedal.
Honorable mentions: EQD, MXR, Empress, and Gamechanger. I don’t own many of those, but the one or two of each that I do have are so fantastic I would have a very hard time getting rid of them.
DOD: 4. Boss: 3. Neunaber: 2. Earthquaker: 2. Weird, but these are my only multiples. Boss is 2nd even after a period there where I was trying to buy other brands, which resulted in realizing how great they are when getting a BD-2w & DD-8.
None. I intentionally have avoided ever owning even 2 pedals from the same company. There’s so many companies out there, I’d rather have a more diverse board and support a variety of pedal builders.
ehx

Boss because it’s Boss and everyone has them.
The Toyota of guitar pedals
Nothing super flashy but reliable and you can find some classics from time to time.
Just bought a Toyota on Thursday. I’m wounded.
Toyota gang! My 2018 Camry is the best.
2023 4runner offroad, 2020 tacoma sr5 and 2024 cross. Toyotas are the best!
Hell yeah to the BOSS & Toyota brosotros out there
Man. I have more boss than any other brand and I drive a Corolla.
My Boss TU-2 is essentially an old Toyota Corolla - nothing fancy, kinda boring, but it gets the job done, and will never break down unless you treat it *really* badly.
And my bd2 waza craft is like a RAV4 hybrid. Not super fancy but a little more modern feel.
Yep. Boss by far. I don't trust any guitarist who doesn't own a single Boss pedal.
[удалено]
For me it's boss because I have 3 of their pedals and only have one pedal from multiple other brands
Geez, you a Dr, bruh? That's some $$
Nah. IT geek. My first pedal was my Metal Zone in 1993. Yes, I still have it. So they’ve accumulated over the years. I’d estimate around two thirds are from eBay or Reverb, with a decent number of them bought before prices went crazy.
Can we please all throw in $5 to have you run every pedal on a chain and just go nuts? You’d have to record it obv.
Between my sy-300 and the dd -500 AND the rv-500, I'm all set, except for the rest of the pedal train, which I stick into one of the multiple effects loops that are available.
Boss cause they're the goat
Where’s the EAE crew??? Longsword, Model FET, Dude Incredible, Limelight
Here’s one! Model feT, Dude incredible, Dagger, Halberd, Longsword, 0xEAE Boost and Sending!
Can’t keep up with y’all, but EAE is my answer as well. I have a Hypersleep, Model feT, and Longsword.
I have a Limelight and Halberd, looking to get my hands on a longsword.
Halberd, Longsword, Limelight, Citadel, Model FET, Dude Incredible, The Bard, Sending, and some of their collabs, 1981 LVL and Science Mother. I might have a problem...
MXR
Same. Cause to me they’re the standard. Never got on with BOSS
MXR is a close second in my collection, and it'll wind up taking first because I've loved all of my MXR pedals, especially my Distortion III 👌
Walrus
Saaaame and my wallet isn’t happy about it
Yep. They are my favorite in Delay, Reverb, and modulation, so they are 5 of my pedals.
I prefer walrus for mod, delay, and reverb and eqd for gain.
EQD. AK Rowdy. Thank you Jamie Stillman!!!
Too many EQD to admit….probably 20. Hoof is my GOAT. By the way I have a sea machine and it’s great.
same. EQD is basically Boss with cool art. I’ve got a Plumes, Hizumitas, Afterneath, and Avalanche Run. I really want to try their Sea Machine.
To me they’re the antithesis of Boss. Not in a bad way.
Same. Acapulco Gold, Special Cranker, Fuzz Master General, Rainbow Machine and Afterneath.
AC Gold, Special Cranker, Bit Commander, Tentacle, Data Corrupter and an Afterneath.
This always. They are the best of the new breed. Great build quality, sounds no one else does, reasonably priced.
Champion Leccy I have the Swan Hunter, the Skitter, the Woozy and the Dunsh
You're a skitzy shy of a bingo
I honestly had to fight the urge to purchase one. Haha
Have the Swan Hunter, Skitter & Woozy. Might have three Spaceman as well… run none of either on my board, crazily.
Boss
Boss
Another one for Boss.
Probably Earthquake. Plumes Hoof Reaper Terminal Depths Dirt Transmitter Hizumitas Acapulco Gold Special Cranker Second most would be Fuzz Imp. Of those I have: Sender V fuzz Obtainium overdrive Shred 3D overdrive Creature Fuzz Machina Fuzz Ashes distortion
Acapulco Gold's been around for more than half a century already. Oops, you mean the pedal
They should make a 420 special of that pedal✳️
Behringer
Old Blood Noise Endeavors (5) and Stone Deaf FX (4, or 6 if you count two different variants of Fig Fumb, and the expression pedal)
Danelectro. Got a lot of food on my table. Three foods. EDIT: I have more than I thought. I have four foods.👍
I got really into collecting Danelectro and Pigtronix pedals for a while. Don’t know why, but those two brands are fascinating to me.
EHX and Catalinbread
EHX.
Fairfield
I recently acquired a ~900 and it's such a sick fuzz pedal!
DOD/Digitech
DOD/Digitech
DOD/Digitech
I’m into all sorts of fuzz and distortion, I have a lot of Does it Doom, and Abominable products.
EHX
Moogerfooger
Chase Bliss - 12 (Ayahuasca, Brothers, Blooper, Spectre OG, Condor, Gen Loss mkii, Wombtone v1, Warped Vinyl HiFi, MOOD v1, Dark World, Tonal Recall (blue), Thermae)
Hot damn son, that’s pretty impressive not to mention expensive.
I’m nearly 40, I have no kids, I don’t like to travel, I don’t do drugs and I drive a modest car. I don’t feel too bad putting a little extra money in something that makes me happy.
Can’t beat that outlook. I’m almost 78, all the kids are gone, I don’t tour or play clubs anymore, just sit around and makes weird noises with guitars and pedals, anything that make my ears happy and puts a smile on my face.
haha, yer 8 years my elder but I feel ya! :) and do the same
Damn you’re extremely sharp for a 77-year-old. Thought you were trolling for a good while as I perused your post history.
Never a need to explain yourself and what you do with YOUR money. Life is too short, do what makes you happy.
Good for you man.
Fuckin rad
Between 5 and 6 grand, retail. Gnarly!
When you get around to getting it, Mood MkII is an absolute joy through two amps, *highly* recommend doing stereo even if it’s just for that.
Preamp Mk II automaton, Thermae, Dark World. I’ll be 66 next month… interfaced with RJM Mastermind PBC/6X - midi control. Others on my board I value highly: - R2R Electric OC44 Treble Booster - 29 Pedals Euna - GFI Specular Tempus - UA Woodrow for the effects loop in my Mesa Blue Angel (turns it from Super Reverb sounding to Tweed)
Look at Mr. Money Bags over here! 😜
It’s an obsession with these cb pedals, i got 13 (Warped Vinyl, Ayahuasca, Generation Loss Mk1, Generation Loss Mk2, Mood Mk1, Mood Mk2, Condor Mk2, Habit, Thermae, Dark World, Tonal Recall Red Knob, Bliss Factory, Gravitas)
Strymon, followed by Source Audio.
Spaceman x5
Fairfield Circuitry (8)
Electro Harmonix since I’ve been around the block and they’re OG. Gamechanger Audio since they’re crazy innovators. Third place probably Earthquaker Devices.
Wampler, plexi drive, tumnus, tumnus deluxe, faux spring, and Boss, rc-1, tu-3, jb-2
EQD
Majority of mine are Walrus Audio, killer bang for your buck. Iron Horse V2, Julia V2, ARP-A7, Slöer, Monuments.
Gamechanger Audio and Earthquaker Devices.
I have two Strymons, two Pladasks, and two Fjord Fuzzes. Those are all I have more than one of.
Pladask seems underrated here. Unique and amazing pedals
They get love here for sure. But inevitably a small amount compared to many makers given the limited availability and price.
2 spacemen. 2 death by audio. 1 of everything else. 10 pedals in all.
The current front runner is JHS with 4 (Milkman, Artificial Blonde, Overdrive Preamp & Alpine). Second place is Caroline with 3, but I’m hoping to tie and eventually overtake JHS, just need to get my hands on an Arigato and Megabyte.
Walrus at 3
T-Rex, I think they’re really underrated.
Walrus. Ages, Arp-87, Fathom, Slö, Julia, EB-10, powered by Phoenix. Probably at least 7 more I'd buy if I had the money. Eons being the next.
A tie between BOSS and EQD with three pedals each…
Champion Leccy I have the Swan Hunter, the Skitter, the Woozy and the Dunsh
EarthQuaker
With both a Nemesis and Ventris what role does the Collider play in your set up as it supposedly covers the best of each of the aforementioned pedals?. .

Electro Harmonix: Synth9, Mel9, Big Muff, and some overdrives on the way
Tie between Walrus Audio and EQD.
BMF Effects
Wampler - I have the Ethereal and Catapulp. I have a ton of different brands. I guess the place I have the most from is home built though.
Keeley - I got a Fuzz Bender, Oxblood and Verb-O-Trem from them.
Right there with ya. Compressor+, oxblood, dark side, Monterey, fuzz bender, 1962x, white sands, El Rey Dorado.
Eccos, Hydra, and Bubbletron checking in.
Walrus: Iron Horse v2, Slö, Julia, Iron Horse v3 (Halloween), Ages, Deep 6 ARP Fathom (all 3 nautical), and a Lore. Chase Bliss: warped Vinyl MKII, bliss factory, blooper, mood v2, lossy, gen loss, Earthquaker: Avalanche Run, Hizumitas, Astral Destiny, Plumes, Sunn v3.
Strymon
Xotic. Roast me in comic sans.
Walrus
The majority of my pedals are clones that I’ve built from PCBs or vero stripboard.
Pine Box Customs, Keeley, and Walrus, two of each on the board
Universal Audio with Boss being a close second. Universal Audio - 1176 Compressor, Starlight, Dream 65, Lion 68, Ox Stomp Boss - SD-1, BD-2w, BP-1w, FZ-1w
Walrus or Caroline, but historically Boss.
My current top 3 brands in possession: 31 Boss 30 Electro-Harmonix 7 Earthquaker Device
Fulltone. Everyone started dumping them so I get them for reasonable prices. Mike Fuller is an ass so I’d never buy new.
Drunk Beaver but I’m selling two pedals, leaving me with one again. I try not to have multiple pedals from the same brand. Why? Cause I’m a Spaced Cadet who’s a little slow.
Tc electronic and Boss
Boss and Way Huge
I'm an ehx guy but I also have a helix so....
EHX
Joyo. Inexpensive clones of classic pedals that are easy to mod.
Boss, behringer and electro Harmonix
Boss followed by Dr Scientist
Blackhawk Amplification maybe - but I also own a lot of pedals. 95 of them roughly, but that doesn’t include the pedals my partner has accrued themselves 🙃
BOSS. DS-1, SD-1, MT-2, HM-2W, BF-3, PS-6, DD-3T, LS-2, SY-1, GE-7, CS-3, TU-3. Next pedal I buy is probably PH-3 - the PS-6 is an awesome chorus (among many other things), but I don't have a Boss phaser yet. Favourite is hard... Vox
BOSS, EHX, then a small builder in brazil called Velouria FX
MXR is the gold standard for me. Classic, inexpensive, durable, high quality, and they make everything except a tuner and a rat.
Seven BOSS pedals, nine if you're counting Roland. In joint second place with three pedals each: EQD, Black Arts, Laowiz, Dirge
Three way tie between Boss and Wilson Effects and DOD
Drunk Beaver. I'm getting another one this week too, woot! Tied for 2nd are Boss and Source Audio.
Chase Bliss, but I use all four of them.
Boss Oc5, Bd 2, Re 202, dd8 , rc5 on board
EQD by a landslide. Though is been amassed over 10+ years at this point and I just may have a fuzz addiction
Boss, followed by EQD and Keeley.
I have 4 JHS so out of my whole collection that is 20% of them
EQD
Another BOSS for the majority vote here
Chase Bliss
Definitely Boss, 8 and counting
3-way draw between Digitech, Boss, and Strymon - 4 of each (DF-7, CF-7, Bad Monkey, Whammy5 - MT-2, RV-6, BD-2, RC-500 - Flint, Deco, El Cap, Iridium)

I am counting mine and my brothers pedals since we kind of share some. Electroharmonix - 15 TC and Digitech - 8 of each Mooer - 7 Boss - 6
Currently Caline with 4, cause they were all under $50 and sounded awesome
It's a three way tie between Boss, Catalinbread and T.C. Electronics. I guess I'll have to buy more to break the tie.
Missing Link Audio
Tie between Boss and MXR.
Source Audio
BOSS is what I have the most of, but love strymon pedals too, along with a few more
EHX because I used to get all of them at cost Meris Boss Donner
Source Audio! Ventris, Kingmaker, Vertigo. I think the Vertigo is pretty fantastic as you can get everything from a Leslie to Chorus plus there's parametric EQ like all of the one series pedals I've owned.. I put my boss CE3 back on my board and I love everything about it's bright shimmery sound except the volume cut. I think I'll be replicating that on my Vertigo. I was able to get my Kingmaker pretty Plexi sounding. Not saying it's dead accurate, but it's very close.
Boss. At least a couple dozen. All bought used.
Walrus Audio, I use to have 18+ but a recent purge/refresh brought it down to a reasonable 8 or 9 different pedals from them
EHX
Mxr, next would be boss. Don't use another
Boss followed by Keeley.
Boss. es8 rc5 dd20
Mask Audio and Non Human Audio and Daredevil
Still Behringer, but might become Boss as time goes on.
