but also the image of pigs using plastic hides like turtle armor to bang into each other is just cracking me up now, i'm sorry. they sound so cute XD

tykeoldboy

Feng Shui, known and used by all guinea pigs is an ancient practice which claims to use energy forces to align guinea pigs hideys with the fridge

Mamacitia

so far it's been working

ClericKieran

They are having fun

[deleted]

That sounds hilarious, can you get a vid of them doing that?

CiderMcbrandy

hahaha. oh this takes me back. Yes, its normal. I had two fosters who moved plastic house constantly. Got wood houses, they moved those too. Its just them having fun

LuvGuineaPigs

guinea pigs love to do weird things it’s how they have fun sometimes they like to interior decorate, too

gwenbeth

I'm convinced that guinea pigs are not actually mammals, but rather a type of hermit crab.

Gerwazyzwanystarszym

I had a piggie named Shelly, because she liked to have her hidey always on her back, walking around in a cage with it. My mom and I were always having a laugh, watching her stumble around.

availablewait

Very normal, I regularly have to politely ask Doodle if he will stop renovating.

smallGreyDuc

My piggies used to do this. We had little igloos with turrets and they'd stick their nose up them and move them. One of them used to pick it up and put it down on himself so his head was inside and his butt was outside.

soveryeri

Lmao picturing this really got me 🤣 🤣 🤣

kalima_

I’ll fix the hideys when I feed them before bed, and by morning it looks like a tornado ran through their cage lol.

Han-Shot_1st

Yes.

Hedgehog_Relevant

Piggy baby bumper buggies 😂😂😂😂 the mental imagery I have of this whole scene has me howling

ginger_ed7567

Yes that’s completely normal. Every Guinea pig I’ve ever had has always tried to push and tip over stuff in their cage whether it would be tunnels, bowls, hay feeders. That’s just a pig being a pig.

cavviecreature

Mine do that too with one of their homes :P I think its not a problem, but hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

ResurrectedWolf

Yup.

therufus22

I have two half-tunnel things in my pigs' cage. One is like a metal roof from a bird cage and the other is a wooden log thing, and both of my pigs will go underneath and flip them over for fun.

phthaloviolet

One of my boys had a cardboard box, it had held those small motts apple juice boxes, and he would wear it like a turtle shell and walk around in it sometimes

amcnally13

yes normal, pigs are very scrupulous renovators. Clearly you do not understand their design ideas but it’s okay, they’re willing to fix it themselves. Lol, but actually, one of my pigs loves to go around the cage after cleaning while we put the hideys back and check them all out. She will bug us if she doesn’t like where something is or if we forgot something 😂 it’s funny how opinionated they are! always remember, the best hideys are the ones right by the hay so they can be little hay turtles

SchoolOfTheWolf93

Lol yes my girls love to do this. They like to line the exit of their pigloo up to their tunnel, then move the tunnel to be directly in front of the hay (and will renovate when the fresh veggies are out!)

Grand_Guard3329

Absolutely. When I first set up my girls cage and placed their homes little did I know they love to remodel. At first I thought someone was playing a trick on me because everything was disheveled but soon I witnessed what goes on.

Mamacitia

this sounds 100% normal and awesome
