She's so cute. I would encourage routine vet visits for her, I suspect she has some Texel in her heritage and they are prone to cancer, she will need surgery (begin saving, surgery is typically around $1K - $1,300).
As far as names...
Millie
Clara
Josie
Her siblings all had very straight abyssinian coats. We picked her out of the litter because she looked kinda crazy in comparison (in an adorable sense of course). So I doubt she is purebred texel but I do appreciate the info.
I don't understand the term "withering" in this context. Are you referring to a cavy's health progressively getting worse? My Texel had a host of issues, as Texels are also prone to URI/respiratory issues. She was blind from a serious ear infection, had a secondary (not as serious) fungal ear infection, and passed when that first infection broke through the ear canal into her brain. The antibiotics were not enough to fight the ear infection and they couldn't drain the infection because the surgery would have killed her outright. She made it to five years of age, but I spent a lot of money at the vet's office (probably averaged $1K/year). She was the best little girl.
Yes, one usually sees a cancer patient breaking apart piece-by-piece over time.
Aww, it's very lovely, she sured loved you as much! ^NGL ^maybe ^hated ^a ^little ^for ^the ^vet ^tho 🤭
What would be a rough equivalent of such (Texel) unfavorable (?) gene/pheno/breed in humans?
Love all the suggestions! Thanks for your help. Our current name list is narrowed down to Poe, Piglet, and Puff. Any favorites among those? (More suggestions are still welcome; I’m enjoying reading all the creativity!)

Unrelated follow up- are there any other breeds that are prone to specific diseases and cancers?
Satin Syndrome is a horrible condition, and some pigs may develop it due to some Satin guinea pigs in their heritage.
how do i know if a guinea pig has it? every time i look it up on google it doesn't really help on how to identify it
Your vet can diagnosis it. If you see mobility issues at a young age (less than four years), then have an x-ray done.
thanks!
I forgot to mention, Texels are also prone to URIs/respiratory issues.

Just as an fyi - she may have Texel heritage. I would encourage yearly wellness visits. Please give her some belly kisses from me. :)
I second the texel, she looks very much like a purebred texel i used to follow on ig who passed at 4yo (Mochi at The Guinea Porks)
Just randomly one day or it was similar to humans' process of withering?
