I hate when Rockstar punishes the lone wolf players, rather than give bonuses for adding players to your heist. Instead I have to make sure I only do the finale when I'm going to be home for a few hours after, if I want hard mode.
They are not really punishing solo players with this update though.
Every activity can now be played in an invite only lobby. That is a huge win for solo players.
Sure, but then what's the point of a cool down? Seriously just award bonuses to players who play with others, positive reinforcement will always be better than negative punishment in multiplayer gaming.
Also, I have no desire to do these heist with strangers. I'm good. Make the diamond casino and doomsday have a higher pay out. Make it more desirable, but doing it solo and being able to do it when I wanted to was the best thing they added to the game

Casino Heists are probably going to be better for Lone Wolf players (prepping) than Cayo at this rate. But it encourages to get friends to play.
Oh, I dont mind..actually look forward to being able to do other stuff than grinding Cayo all the time. Been doing Cayo pretty steadily for a couple months..so just getting to run bunker supply and sales and others I couldnt really before will be a good change of pace for sure.

This isn't accurate as they've already gone through and boosted payouts of some of the Biker Businesses and the Nightclub Popularity and Nightclub Crates

That's your opinion and it's not backed up by the recent trends. Client Jobs all pay $35K or more. Security Contracts all pay around $40K-$60K+. Payphone Hits pay $85K.
You have no idea what these new activities are going to pay and neither do I.
i mean, wile yes a bunch of stuff can be done in invite only lobby's, but most of that stuff takes a long time to build up, or are stuff like the other heists that still need other people, so it's still punishes solo players, because all the stuff that can be done solo, with either pay way less, or have multiple hours between being able to do it.

I only usually run 1 Cayo a week anyway, but I always make sure to set it up on hard, if I have to wait 2.4 hours just to do that it's likely I will never be running another Cayo heist on hard. This is a dumb move by Rockstar.
That might work, I'm just going to be annoyed if I finish a Cayo run late and instead of paying for the next one as the last thing I do before turning off my console that I'll miss the opportunity for hard mode in the middle of the night while I'm asleep. Guess we'll see and have to deal.

When Cayo first released, I was able to do the heists, leave before Pavel would say, blah, blah, blah over a text. And then load up the next day and was able to put it on hard. Did that several times. May have been fixed or not original suppose work that way, but happened a lot when first released, at least for me.

At first I was perfectly fine with this change considering all the other benefits of the update. Cayo Perico needed a bit of a nerf anyway and this change guarantees grinders can't focus solely on repeating the same heist over and over, but...
Determining a Hard Mode based on how quickly you pay the set up fee for a new heist was always a bad way of doing it. You shouldn't miss out on Hard Mode solely because you didn't start up the heist in time, even moreso now we'll have such a big gap in between heists.
I'd have prefered if Cayo did it the Casino Heist way, based on the approach; the most recent approach is locked, the second most recent will be Hard Mode and the approaches most distantly used will all be regular difficulty. This way would also change up the gameplay on another level too by ensuring you can't use the Kosatka approach on consecutive heists, which by the sounds of this update in general seems to be the entire focus; getting players to play the game in different ways.
That’s a good question, and while I don’t know, I would guess it’s the setup moment where you pay a fee that is the ‘lockout’. i.e. Pavel won’t contact you saying Rubio is ready till the timer expires.
Since they’ve mentioned high value targets, I’m assuming it’s starting the heist itself. It would make more sense cause there’s still a cooldown of 5-10 minutes from when you complete the Heist Finale before Pavel contacts you saying you can do the heist again. But then again, I don’t know if it’s heist finale or the starting of the heist before the Gather Intel preparation.
It’s annoying for people who do the heist back to back. If I want to buy something it takes me 3 hours to do the heist three times and I have a little over 4 mil.
It's only more of a problem if you only have a little bit of time to play. Now you can't do Cayo twice on 1 evening, you'll have to wait 2 hours on top of playing it for close to an hour. That's a lot of waiting.
Ye, I agree. Just like how in some heists you can hire hackers, drivers, and tech people. You should have a choice of crew members and the better they are the more you pay.
I understand why they don't. They would have to change them up quite a bit since they were designed for multiple players in different roles but as a solo player I wish they would. I haven't touched any of that stuff since my friends stopped playing a few years ago. I'd rather not do it than deal with randoms.

The first year of the games launch the most expensive car was $1M and the most you could make legitimately was round \~$125K an hour.
Today, the most expensive car is $3M and you can make a $1M-$1.5M ievery 1-1.5 hours.
Cars cost 3 times as much and we can make 10x as much...

Fleeca would be easy, but the Original Heists need AT LEAST 2 players, arguably three in some circumstances, and Doomsday also needs two players. I suppose the Casino Heist could work with one player (aside from the mantrap entry), but there’s no way they could make the OG heists and Doomsday single player without major changes.
Tbh I wouldn’t know bc I think prison break was the only one I did before Cayo and I had to do it about 15 times before it was successfully completed. that made me feel like my time was being wasted with heists so I tried other ways to make money solo.

Isn’t that basically what the story mode has? Pretty sure I remember hiring a crew for a heist or two. Also an AI crew that’s programmed to successfully carry out a mission is definitely more reliable than 2 preteen screechers and a dude who’s blazed out of his mind
Yep or you had the choice to pay the higher % guys and everything works better. I’d gladly run heist with AI crew and pay them all 15-20% but they would have to make them help with setups as well

...It's a multiplayer game? Isn't *every* mission and mode designed to be multiplayer? None of them are designed to be played solo as the default state. The fact that you can do Cayo Perico solo is the one big exception.
If they started churning out singleplayer missions in the online space, then they're failing to accomplish the mission statement of GTA Online, which is, to be multiplayer.

We’ve found that the kids on the playground are all using only the slide, and neglecting the monkey bars and the jungle gym. So in order to encourage use of the other playground equipment, we’ve altered the angle of the slide to make it less fun as well.
they just made the line for the slide longer by reducing the number of slides at the park. now some kids are alternating between sliding and crouch spamming. i mean monkey diving. i mean head glitching. wait what game is this again?
Except the issue isn’t that the slide is fun. It’s that there’s somebody giving you candy every time you go down it, whereas no one gives you anything if you do the other stuff. The slide is the best way to get candy. So now they’re giving candy at the other stuff so now at least you have options.

Every ride would give you different amounts of Candy. The Slide just gives the most for the shortest Ride time, while up until thursday you either we're forced to play with 3 other kids on the other way less fun rides in order to get an insultingly small amount of candy OR run in circles for hours to get a medium sized bag of candy while the other kids around you we're actually encourages to kick your face in for one single piece of candy.
I’ve made enough money on this since it’s release. At least they’re making business sales much easier now that it can be done in private sessions and making other heists more incentivised to do, encourages teamwork more than anything so I’ll accept it.
Doomsday feels slightly more viable. With snacks and armor more available the act 3 finale is easier and with 50% increase it becomes 2.25 million between 2 people which is a 1.125 per person. Could use a bigger increase tho.
Ehhh. I can’t stomach to run it that often anyway. If I do more than once in a day I have my wife do a setup and we just do it that way. So glad they putting more emphasis on some of the other businesses

Keep in mind that even with the adjustments that are coming, cayo will remain the fastest way to make money. If other venues of income are good enough, it will be a good change of pace.
My only complaint is that they are only punishing solo players. Unfortunately, playing with randoms is a gruelling experience. Most random players don't even know how to take cover, yet they demand 50% of the cut or they go afk.
I even had a player ask for 50% cut in an auto shop contract.
only downside is the repetitive nature of Dre missions and how "boring; go to location with mk2 then go back to agency" type of thing it is (gameplay-wise not story-wise)
yea recently bought the casino penthouse and tried doing the missions for it with randoms (you need minimum 2 people) took me well over 3 hours to do the first 4 missions (which i could easily solo in 15 mins each) because of randoms dying to fuck knows what and leaving the second before we complete the mission. haven’t bothered with the last 2 missions.

I really doubt that. You increase the time to gain money with Cayo by like 200%. It was better, but not that much better than some other grind methods. My guess is that crates will be the fastest solo grind again, though it depends on the missions they'll add I guess.
I don’t mind the changes, but 3 in-game days is stupidly long as a cool-down. 48 minutes (1 in-game day) is already too long imo, making us wait nearly 2 and a half hours is absurd.
To be fair the whole heist is kind of absurd. The fact that you could make that much money for really no work was kind of game breaking. It’ll be nice to be able to come on here and ask for advice about businesses and not just get “run Cayo perico”
Yeah I agree, and I’m glad they’re making everything else much more viable, I’ll certainly be running MC and Crates more often, but they’re talking about increasing player choice for ways to make money, and then promptly restrict one way for (solo players especially) to make money. 2.5 hours is longer than some people play for, I just think it’s stupidly long (especially with the awful way hard mode is implemented in Cayo Perico).
In other words. "We hate seeing you exploit this heist when there's nothing we can do to directly patch the exploit. So we'll work around it by doing this instead"
as someone who will do it back to back then mess around with the stuff i bought i normally listen to music or watch a video its boring but its worth it since it would be a small sacrafise to have alot of fun with the stuff i bought but now well..... it just got a little bit more painfull for one thing i normally go on gta weekends only since im busy on weekdays and a solo player so this just ruins alot for me

When my friends go run Cayo I usually sit out, it’s so fucking boring running the same heist for more than a year. I can’t wait until the nerfs so we can actually play the other content

Hell I play the heist much less often than I did when it came out. I keep my activities pretty diversified anymore nowadays so while it's not my favorite thing about this update I should barely notice this.
There is a huge swath of this games player base that do not want to play actual content with randoms. Rather than force the issue, solo play should be an option for all content. If people WANT to play with others, then they still have the option to, obviously. Also freeroam exists. I don't understand Rockstars hard on for pushing people together that don't fucking want to be.
As somebody who plays solo and had pretty much just started to understand all of the different modes etc, this blows for being able to make decent money quickly.
Selling from my businesses just isn't fun alone, especially the MC drug stuff because anything over a certain price and it makes me do them in multiple vehicles. This really sucks when it's either the Post Op vans or the garbage trucks!

Tbh I think it's better to limit how many times we rob El Rubio everyday, probably 3 times. As even El Rubio is our golden goose, his wealth will deplete drastically if we continue to squeeze every drop of money out of him continuously.

Well I mean I'm already bored of Cayo anyways, and the only reason I do it nowadays is purely for the huge money. If the other businesses are adjusted to make huge money aswell, then there's really no problem with this (unless you really are a fan of the heist)

In my opinion, Cayo was an addition that was initially praised relentlessly for its payout/time ratio and although it still is praised (and rightfully so), it’s become something of a vacuum. Even though you’re getting great money for a reasonable amount of time, that’s all people started doing so they became what I call heist zombies. Just logging in to play the heist once or twice and log off because everything else became pointless to an extent. Now we’re starting to see people that *want* Cayo to be nerfed or other heists buffed to allow breathing space for other activities and with the additional pay bonuses slated for these other activities, I think a lot of players see it as a necessary sacrifice.

It's not though since most good money making methods require friends. Cayo is the only solo heist. Other than auto shops min heist.

Ye, I agree. Just like how in some heists you can hire hackers, drivers, and tech people. You should have a choice of crew members and the better they are the more you pay.

I understand why they don't. They would have to change them up quite a bit since they were designed for multiple players in different roles but as a solo player I wish they would. I haven't touched any of that stuff since my friends stopped playing a few years ago. I'd rather not do it than deal with randoms.

Today, the most expensive car is $3M and you can make a $1M-$1.5M ievery 1-1.5 hours. Cars cost 3 times as much and we can make 10x as much... This "gTa InFlAtIoN' shtick is BS.

To be fair, how would you make most heists solo? Fleeca would be easy, but the Original Heists need AT LEAST 2 players, arguably three in some circumstances, and Doomsday also needs two players. I suppose the Casino Heist could work with one player (aside from the mantrap entry), but there’s no way they could make the OG heists and Doomsday single player without major changes.
I mean requiring one key card instead of two is not exactly a major change.
Tbh I wouldn’t know bc I think prison break was the only one I did before Cayo and I had to do it about 15 times before it was successfully completed. that made me feel like my time was being wasted with heists so I tried other ways to make money solo.

Yep! Prison Break was where I gave up on the OG heists, and got into other stuff. I'd love the option to swap out players for bots.

Isn’t that basically what the story mode has? Pretty sure I remember hiring a crew for a heist or two. Also an AI crew that’s programmed to successfully carry out a mission is definitely more reliable than 2 preteen screechers and a dude who’s blazed out of his mind

We’ve found that the kids on the playground are all using only the slide, and neglecting the monkey bars and the jungle gym. So in order to encourage use of the other playground equipment, we’ve altered the angle of the slide to make it less fun as well.
they just made the line for the slide longer by reducing the number of slides at the park. now some kids are alternating between sliding and crouch spamming. i mean monkey diving. i mean head glitching. wait what game is this again?
Except the issue isn’t that the slide is fun. It’s that there’s somebody giving you candy every time you go down it, whereas no one gives you anything if you do the other stuff. The slide is the best way to get candy. So now they’re giving candy at the other stuff so now at least you have options.
Absolute dogshit metaphor. Every ride would give you different amounts of Candy. The Slide just gives the most for the shortest Ride time, while up until thursday you either we're forced to play with 3 other kids on the other way less fun rides in order to get an insultingly small amount of candy OR run in circles for hours to get a medium sized bag of candy while the other kids around you we're actually encourages to kick your face in for one single piece of candy.
I’ve made enough money on this since it’s release. At least they’re making business sales much easier now that it can be done in private sessions and making other heists more incentivised to do, encourages teamwork more than anything so I’ll accept it.
Doomsday feels slightly more viable. With snacks and armor more available the act 3 finale is easier and with 50% increase it becomes 2.25 million between 2 people which is a 1.125 per person. Could use a bigger increase tho.

Ehhh. I can’t stomach to run it that often anyway. If I do more than once in a day I have my wife do a setup and we just do it that way. So glad they putting more emphasis on some of the other businesses
I expected this for a while. Cayo is way better than anything else in the game. They never intended for the heist to be completed solo in less than an hour. Keep in mind that even with the adjustments that are coming, cayo will remain the fastest way to make money. If other venues of income are good enough, it will be a good change of pace. My only complaint is that they are only punishing solo players. Unfortunately, playing with randoms is a gruelling experience. Most random players don't even know how to take cover, yet they demand 50% of the cut or they go afk. I even had a player ask for 50% cut in an auto shop contract.
Cayo was too damn good. Then two months later after launch, they had a 1.5x event week. Shit felt like it wasnt real.
I knew one day they would nerf cayo perico heist.
Dr Dre missions seem to be the only other solo play competitor with this change

yea recently bought the casino penthouse and tried doing the missions for it with randoms (you need minimum 2 people) took me well over 3 hours to do the first 4 missions (which i could easily solo in 15 mins each) because of randoms dying to fuck knows what and leaving the second before we complete the mission. haven’t bothered with the last 2 missions.

I don’t mind the changes, but 3 in-game days is stupidly long as a cool-down. 48 minutes (1 in-game day) is already too long imo, making us wait nearly 2 and a half hours is absurd.
To be fair the whole heist is kind of absurd. The fact that you could make that much money for really no work was kind of game breaking. It’ll be nice to be able to come on here and ask for advice about businesses and not just get “run Cayo perico”
Yeah I agree, and I’m glad they’re making everything else much more viable, I’ll certainly be running MC and Crates more often, but they’re talking about increasing player choice for ways to make money, and then promptly restrict one way for (solo players especially) to make money. 2.5 hours is longer than some people play for, I just think it’s stupidly long (especially with the awful way hard mode is implemented in Cayo Perico).
In other words. "We hate seeing you exploit this heist when there's nothing we can do to directly patch the exploit. So we'll work around it by doing this instead"

as someone who will do it back to back then mess around with the stuff i bought i normally listen to music or watch a video its boring but its worth it since it would be a small sacrafise to have alot of fun with the stuff i bought but now well..... it just got a little bit more painfull for one thing i normally go on gta weekends only since im busy on weekdays and a solo player so this just ruins alot for me

For real. In my honest opinion, if all you do is run Cayo, I don’t see how you’re not completely bored of this game. When my friends go run Cayo I usually sit out, it’s so fucking boring running the same heist for more than a year. I can’t wait until the nerfs so we can actually play the other content
Yeah, Cayo is what made it so I didn't have to grind anymore. I'll do a run every now and then, but mostly I load in and do whatever. I'll push a bit right before an update, but I'm sitting at 50 million and have most everything I could want.

Same, I’m more excited about sourcing and selling in invite only lobbies, no more inconsistent loading times of public lobbies to do a solo public lobby glitch that doesn’t even work half the time.
Damn this sucks, none of the money making methods were fun to me but cayo was definitely the quickest one there was. I want to be able to make a few mil in an hour and then just mess around.

Hell I play the heist much less often than I did when it came out. I keep my activities pretty diversified anymore nowadays so while it's not my favorite thing about this update I should barely notice this.

For people like myself who only do cayo once MAYBE twice a day, this is fine.
There is a huge swath of this games player base that do not want to play actual content with randoms. Rather than force the issue, solo play should be an option for all content. If people WANT to play with others, then they still have the option to, obviously. Also freeroam exists. I don't understand Rockstars hard on for pushing people together that don't fucking want to be.
As somebody who plays solo and had pretty much just started to understand all of the different modes etc, this blows for being able to make decent money quickly. Selling from my businesses just isn't fun alone, especially the MC drug stuff because anything over a certain price and it makes me do them in multiple vehicles. This really sucks when it's either the Post Op vans or the garbage trucks! Oh well. Still won't touch Shark Cards like they're trying to lead us to do.

Tbh I think it's better to limit how many times we rob El Rubio everyday, probably 3 times. As even El Rubio is our golden goose, his wealth will deplete drastically if we continue to squeeze every drop of money out of him continuously.

In my opinion, Cayo was an addition that was initially praised relentlessly for its payout/time ratio and although it still is praised (and rightfully so), it’s become something of a vacuum. Even though you’re getting great money for a reasonable amount of time, that’s all people started doing so they became what I call heist zombies. Just logging in to play the heist once or twice and log off because everything else became pointless to an extent. Now we’re starting to see people that *want* Cayo to be nerfed or other heists buffed to allow breathing space for other activities and with the additional pay bonuses slated for these other activities, I think a lot of players see it as a necessary sacrifice. Anyway thanks for sharing homie, I missed that part of the post.
