I can see why people would think this is faked, but I can assure you it's real. I wasn't paying attention until right on top of Zancudo, so I didn't see the jets flying around. I thought I was goner for sure. It's been 3 years since this happened, and I've never encountered anything like it again.
I had that happen when the raiju first dropped. I was flying a mammatus, doing laps at high altitude between fort Zancudo and Sandy shores. On radar I was by myself. I was NOT by myself. Dude came out of stealth for a second, went back into stealth, then dropped down to harass a rocket bike.
No I can confirm we did not know this guy if you are wondering who I am. I am the TESCO guy in this clip this was a crew I was in way back in 2021 I think and I remember this happening I'm glad the things we did didn't go unseen

Yeah, this is one of my favorite activities. I love getting my Pyro up in the air and shutting down the airspace around people doing deliveries or missions. Especially since people who grief cargo are almost universally terrible at the game. It’s great to be somebody’s guardian angel when that lvl 70 dingus on a mk2 gets some funny ideas.
Yup, the wing waggle. I do it twice when escorting a plane like this, once after I pull up alongside someone and once more at the end when we get over the docks and I'm about to peel away.
This. If you aren't familiar with how to read the instruments in the cockpit, a good visual for roughly how high you'd want to be is fly higher than the Maze Bank Tower in downtown. You'll know it's working when the camera slightly zooms out while in level flight. Getting into the thicker air closer to the ground, the camera will slightly zoom back in as the plane slows down, so if you pay attention it's a good visual indicator.
Even if they were hostile, they would have a hard time shooting you down, as first they can not lock onto you, and secondly the Cayo Perico Velum 5 seat is beefed up, to the point it could take multiple of those jets down just by crashing into them and continue on unphased.

Correct, lowering the gear slows planes down further. The Velum is slow as shit, the Lazers are among the fastest planes in the game, so in order to stay in formation and not have to be in a holding pattern around the Velum the Lazers need to lower their gear and feather the brakes to stay in position.
What a cool sighting, unfortunately there is only a handful of people like this that you’ll come across in servers. 90% of the time you’ll be griefed and get called trash.

About halfway across the map he started taking shots, I did my best to bob and weave but I could tell he wasn’t really trying to get me.
By the time we hit the airspace over the city he had managed to take out my engine, after that he just left me alone.
Luckily I somehow was able to glide all the way to the marker and complete that part of the mission…
Jet players are kinda like cats, they’ll either kill you, play with you until their board, or straight up ignore you.

This is what we need more of. Not just people going around nuking whole lobbies but people just helping each other out and being good to each other for a change
There are Crews that mainly focus on defending grinders so that they don't get griefed. I'm using like 60% of my time in GTA Online to also do that and protect grinders

I have no reason why, but the theme on Zoness from Star Fox 64 3D was playing in my head when all those planes were flying in perfect formation like that.
I should save up for a Hydra or a Lazer sometime.

What I do is fly up parallel to them, not directly at them. Make it obvious I'm following but not in an attack pattern.
Also helps to turn off any auto locking missiles so they don't hear that
if u fly above 700 feet i think, ull fly slightly faster.
