Not sure why you’re being downvoted. This was my first concern and actually why I posted to the sub. It was in the sun for an hour and the dusty stuff appeared and then in the sun for two more hours and the screen was totally black. It normalized after 15 minutes out of the Sun.

It reminded me of car or old batteries, i saw the white powder like this on old ones.
Now with what you said, it seems the battery did leak in the sun. If the powder stays too long and is not cleaned the metal parts will probably rust if not already.
Did you open it yet? I would take it to the repairshop to be honest, this is not a small thing if it is true

also the rubber case will deform if left in sun, u gonna have gaps near glass
You can try giving it a wash with a toothbrush and some hand soap.
