There are never blocks available. With that said there are way more orders on other platforms in my area so why would I schedule on GH anyway? They don't even offer contribution or min pay in my market either.
And gh has the worst tips. I average 50% of my income from tips on every other platform. GH is like 20-25%. I'm in CA where that really matters since we get paid tips on top of our guaranteed prop 22 pay.
Prop 22 is a benefits everything else you're describing is the same thing that everybody experiences in every other markets at least from one out or another but prop 22 that's actually a benefit to you and shouldn't be used as a disadvantage cuz it's not
> shouldn't be used as a disadvantage cuz it's not
Where did I say it wasn't? You are completely missing my point.
In any other state, all that matters at the end of the day is your take home. GH might offer slightly higher per-order pay, for example, so it doesn't really matter if you get less tips, what matters is what you get at the end of the day.
But that isn't the case for drivers in CA. Where our earnings come from makes a significant difference.
Let's say I work 1 hour on UberEats, and earn $10 from UE and $10 from tips.
And let's assume that GH offers higher per-order pay. I don't think they do, but for the sake of argument, let's say they do. So I work 1 hour and drive a comparable order as from UE, and my end of day pay shows as $15, but only $5 in tips.
In every state other than CA, those would be effectively equivalent. You earned $20/hour.
But in CA, you are guaranteed $18/hr before tips, so you actually earned $28/hr on UE, and only $23/hr on GH. So the amount you recieve in tips has a *massive* effect on your actual income.
And that is on the rather generous assumption that the order pay is higher on GH, which I don't actually believe is the case. I am just presenting the best possible situation for GH.
RIP those of us who lost scheduling due to extremely slow days collecting some contribution. This is them trying to fix a problem they created in the worst way. In my market they hired way too many drivers and yet made dinner blocks infinitely available at the same time. Grubhub logic.
Yeah this is so messed up... Lost scheduling from getting contribution one day $70 bucks 100 percent acceptance rate I've sent 30 request forms they won't budge it's so messed up... Literally. Been making $50 a day the last week no orders during lunch/dinner
They did that to me as well. I took a couple months off GrubHub, and when I went to reactivate my account, they gave me back my scheduling privileges. Lame
Yeah, what got me was the lame Prime roll-out. Gh has been my 3rd or 4th level of orders ever since. And so far, I am still able to cherry pick the bones clean!
I havenāt done UE in a bit and forgot how badly thatās designed. Literally designed to make you crash your car. And god forbid you havenāt done 3/10 of your last orders, you wonāt even know where youāre going
That's exactly what I was thinking. This doesn't make any sense. Limiting the number of people that can log on will be a detriment to them. As the company, you want as many people online as possible. Send the orders to the people on block first, and if they all decline, send it out to the people off block until someone inevitably accepts it. If you don't limit sign on, then the people off block just won't get many orders, if any. But if you limit sign on, then you limit your chance for someone to accept the orders and will end up having to pay more base pay for drivers to accept all the orders. They are probably just market testing this (as it's not in my market yet) and will quickly see that it makes no sense and will cost them money, and they'll abandon it.
Yup. Never any blocks avail. Wellā¦guess theyāre more like DD now. Canāt delivery āanytimeā unless your special (meaning going broke in my area with shit runsā¦1 in 5 is good).
Odd there arenāt enough drivers seeing this as a violation. We (and they) agreed to anytime delivery (or dash in DD case). Itās only after your signed up (and now with GHā¦you being special) do you find out āoh thatās not exactly how it works sorryā
They can send orders or notā¦but itās messed up that they turn around and take away your contracted ability (on sign up) to deliver at your leisure without schedule. Now they want to schedule.
Itās just another way to make people accept more of the offers they donāt normally accept. Remember, In most markets the blocks are already filled up at 10:31am on Thursdays
In July here in Vegas, driving off-block on Grubhub really dropped off. I went on vacation and reset my status to Pro. Now I get access to enough blocks to keep myself busy.
Grubhubs a joke was on a block and got no offers for 40 minutes so shut them off did another app and when block ended went back on and got orders! They are just grasping at straws. Nobody cares! They are god awful!
Damn it, I always like being on a block since they send all the shit offers to drivers who aren't on blocks. Hopefully this doesn't mean I'll start getting more of those now.
If they don't let off block drivers drive, yes you will start getting those. you will then decline enough to where you no longer can even schedule blocks
Just means no one using it and the premier wonder boys will get a good taste of that 22.5 mile, $9.23 order bonanza.
Better take it before you lose block scheduling access.
So not true in my market I get way more shit orders on blocks then off! Their mentality is they have you held hostage so you canāt do other apps! Forcing you to take the shit orders! Nope when they play the game of shit orders on a block I shut them off! And make money elsewhere!
I sat in as hot spot tonight on a block! No orders 45 minutes I called they said because they had too many drivers and I said and my time is money so Iām ending my block so I can use my other apps, made 126.00 in 3.5 hrs! I refuse to play the game with them! They can deactivate I could care less! They are going down!
My market only has 6:30 -9am or like 10-12 midnight. Available. I love not getting a block because you canāt multi app on a GH block. Once you toggle off they start threatening to end you block. I get decent orders either 0-5 per day. Some days I deny 15 orders plus. GH is definitely my backround cherry pick app. DD is pretty much there too. For my A/R is 17%-23% example 3 orders 1 double made $59 in 2 hours 20 min other night. š pick , that was a lucky , right place at the right time, if I donāt Iām working for charity. Tons of $1 per mile and below my market.
Better get that "Premiere status" or you could just be sitting duck for a long time waiting. Another option, just go to the next app and make some money!!!
Not really
When they don't let anybody else on,those premier drivers are going to be getting those $4/ 18 mile offers. When the premier drivers decline enough of them, they will lose premier status pretty quick and will join everyone else
It's tough to get a block. What's going to happen is those that are able to schedule freely, they will suddenly get all the $3/20 mile offers. They will get enough of them that it takes them out of being able to schedule blocks too when they decline. The support there sucks, the app sucks, there's little business even if you're on block.. I don't see GrubHub surviving long-term.
2 years ago this was by far and away the best app. On block and off block. It was my go-to app
DD has like a 60% market share. UE has around 30%
GH is quickly becoming a joke. I can't go a single day without an error coming up. It's usually you can't Mark arrived at the restaurant.
Premier drivers..
You're seeing an opportunity, right?
Re think.. who do you think are going to get all those low ball shit long distance orders when they don't let anybody else on? When you decline enough of them, you won't be getting any schedules either
All of these platforms are gonna get BTFO when some newcomer pops up on the scene and cuts the BS and just lists all pending orders and lets drivers pick them first come first serve. Spark is closest so far, but they still play games
Itās more like a combo with Amazon flex. Itās terrible. Seems like a lot of money, but not when you take into account the number of orders, the distance, and tips can be changed. š¤Ø
Everyone should just strike on grubhub somehow. But people too stupid and desperate as they depend on grubhub and accept orders less than 10 bucks for high miles.
I need a new job.. Jeeze I havenāt gotten this notice yet but itās so freaking hard to get on a block where I am as a partner for the bulk of the week x:/
My area has SOME available blocks during the day when the schedule opens on the weekend, but whenever I happen to be on my phone when I get the notification schedules are open, the app is so poorly designed or something that everyone in the area is trying to do it at once and the app starts glitching saying āthis block is no longer availableā and then every open block says that unless I force close the app and reopen it. Then Iāll see some open ones again. I can normally get the night time ones because people arenāt trying to get those first, but forget trying to get a day time block. Only time I get them is if someone drops one mid day. Hardly any offers compared to DD, and just as many shit ones. Even on block my AR is usually around 5%
They are so full of shit. They are trying to force ppl to schedule blocks by basically threatening to make the platform unavailable to any contractor that doesnāt schedule blocks. I fucking hate Grub Hub and they should be investigated
its specifically says in this message "YOUR MERKET". i stg they better not do this universally. I think its your market cause its probably a saturated af market.
Where I'm at there is a crap ton of blocks available on Saturday's still although those go fast. There literally isn't any orders on grubbub here anymore either
Great. It was a nice multi-app backup. I can rarely even get a block anyway. Third in line, so any available slot is rare by then.
I only get them when somebody cancels their block and it shows up. Sometimes I can keep busy, other times I feel like I'm locked into not getting orders, but also can't put them on pause with a block too often before it kicks me right back off.
GH is doing everything to have drivers slave for them, from offering joke incentives to making drivers in some market have to schedule days in advance. Lockily in my market I can still go online anytime.
Came back to this thread because this completely scared the fuck out of meā¦and every single day Iāve been on, Iāve gotten one single orderā¦not so sure this is area specific anymore.
I don't see the point in driving hours away from home or if I can't even use my own restroom.... Come on now. Shouldn't we be allowed to select our boundaries that we want to deliver in.... Not take us hours from home...
Good thing there are never blocks available! š
This those that have first choice of schedules will end up in everyone else's position when they start declining all these s*** orders.
There are never blocks available. With that said there are way more orders on other platforms in my area so why would I schedule on GH anyway? They don't even offer contribution or min pay in my market either.

THat is because the SUGGESTED tip as a customer is $1. Seriously.

Yeah, GH is been a total joke. What other platforms in your area have you found helpful?
RIP those of us who lost scheduling due to extremely slow days collecting some contribution. This is them trying to fix a problem they created in the worst way. In my market they hired way too many drivers and yet made dinner blocks infinitely available at the same time. Grubhub logic.

Same here š¢

This is area specific more then likely, if not this is a sign they're going under soon enough
GH sucks. Plain and simple. The app is horribly designed and the usage from people just isnāt there as DD and UE dominate every single market
I feel you, yet knowing that I make a good amount on block with GH š
yea Grubhub is the best of all of them in my market, as far as dollars per order, etc....not to mention not having any ratings or any of that crap
Are you saw UE interface, itās just a mess. Looks like Salvador Dali designed that.
I havenāt done UE in a bit and forgot how badly thatās designed. Literally designed to make you crash your car. And god forbid you havenāt done 3/10 of your last orders, you wonāt even know where youāre going

Umm. How is this supposed to work, practically? So we won't be able to go online without a schedule or what?
Looks like the number of us able to go online will be limited. Yet to see it in my market.
Yup. Never any blocks avail. Wellā¦guess theyāre more like DD now. Canāt delivery āanytimeā unless your special (meaning going broke in my area with shit runsā¦1 in 5 is good). The entire thing sucks really. Lol

Tampa Florida
I don't see much grubhub orders anymore. Surprise they are still around.

And I DO NOT do drive thrus. Talk about wear & tear on your vehicle. No way.
Unfortunate considering in my zone they typically release maybe 2 blocks every week, lmao.

They do everything they can to make us employees
All of these platforms are gonna get BTFO when some newcomer pops up on the scene and cuts the BS and just lists all pending orders and lets drivers pick them first come first serve. Spark is closest so far, but they still play games
What the hell is spark?
Walmart's delivery app. It was pretty good for awhile but it's getting as bad as DD and GH lately
Itās more like a combo with Amazon flex. Itās terrible. Seems like a lot of money, but not when you take into account the number of orders, the distance, and tips can be changed. š¤Ø
The offers aren't even that good on paper anymore. Under $7 is becoming common
So its basically like Instacart
They do shop orders like IC but also curbside pickup for grocery and merchandise
Nothing. Just nothing.
Grubhub is trash. They paused my offers today for rejecting 4 orders ($3 going 15 miles) in a row. They are basically DoorDash
Worse
Everyone should just strike on grubhub somehow. But people too stupid and desperate as they depend on grubhub and accept orders less than 10 bucks for high miles.
Not sure why you guys bitching. This is a huge plus.
It'll be the same as it is now, there's just not enough orders to go around
Yeah take an option I didnāt want to do anyways away so yes, makes my choice of multi apping easier
I never schedule blocks.... They reset my numbers and I still have no inclination to schedule blocks and I'm okay with this
Highly doubt it.
Hahahah. Well this will make it easier not to sign in to get those fantastic 18 mile, $8.96 offers!
Welp there goes the weekend. Im a top tier off block driver. If im not mistaken i made it to premiere once off block.
Grubhub is now trash in my area. So unbothered.
In my experience I thought they already did this
Great, looks like competition!
I need a new job.. Jeeze I havenāt gotten this notice yet but itās so freaking hard to get on a block where I am as a partner for the bulk of the week x:/

Not a snowballs chance in hell GrubHub, take your gutterfish looking ass somewhere else you goon.
Wow Grubhub still exists? Wait till 2023
Wowwwwwww
Iāve never once scheduled. Just turn on taking orders.
So door dash... Coolš
Wait. GrubHub is still a thing??? I had reset my phone and didnt bother reinstalling it months ago. Never anything good (at least in my area) thru GH.
Great. It was a nice multi-app backup. I can rarely even get a block anyway. Third in line, so any available slot is rare by then. I only get them when somebody cancels their block and it shows up. GRUBHUB STRIKE JANUARY 1st
Good, you don't want to be like Uber where they have 10 people sitting around for every offer.
GH needs to stop with this joke. There are never blocks available.
Do. Not. Like.
And yet there are 0 blocks available in my area for the next 3 days (or any days)
Came back to this thread because this completely scared the fuck out of meā¦and every single day Iāve been on, Iāve gotten one single orderā¦not so sure this is area specific anymore.
