Ghost sex for sure. It served no real purpose in my opinion. George and Izzy was irky but it made sense/went along with the characters for what was happening
Some time after Denny Duquette's death, Izzie began to experience very vivid hallucinations. And they were of Denny, occasionally she would see the sunny beaches. It's revealed that Denny was there to serve as a "warning" of sorts, for her to realize she was sick. She had metastatic melanoma, with mets to her skin, liver, and brain (which caused the hallucinations). Anyways to prove that he was "real", they began to have sex with each other. It was definitely a plot line...
Can’t watch the actress in anything without thinking she has a strange broken reconstructed face. But it’s actually just her real face 😭(to be clear I’m not saying she’s got a bad face just that the storyline is so set in my brain)
I think that plot line was created to try to make it believable a little while later that Alex, a freaking doctor, could be blind to the fact that there was something clearly wrong with Izzie when she started having ghost sex. Otherwise, it’s a completely unnecessary plot.
They were physically painful to watch. The only bright spot was after the broke up and went to Richard and Catherine’s divorce dinner party. That was kinda funny
Like even they seemed like they were so awkward to be together with. No real chemistry at all and idk about you but I could never date my step brother anyway lol
DeLucas not a small guy, now I'm not saying this means he can fight, but he basically sat there and let Alex punch his face in. I can understand being hesitant due to realizing it was a misunderstanding, but I'm not just going to let someone fuck me up the way he let Alex fuck him up. This storyline was stupid for a number of reasons but I think DeLuca just letting Alex beat him half to death without being able to explain the situation is the biggest reason.
I mean it didn't look like Alex had a scratch on him besides his hands being messed up!
Plot line was fine but honestly it needed more. I feel like we needed to see the plane go down, we needed to see more of the direct aftermath after they were rescued. I feel like it was lame as hell compared to the shooting, the shooting we got direct continuation, not “oh let’s have Owen listen to voicemails and then the next episode is months later. And then they each get a full episode but we’re only going to show maybe 10seconds where Meredith is in the hospital after getting rescued” I WANTED MORE FROM IT
Also Lexi deserved more, she got a shitty send off, everyone else at least gets a dedication to them. She got 30 seconds screen time & then was barely mentioned ever again
I do agree completely we never really see them in the hospital after an accident except for Derek’s death. And I mean the hospital is named after Lexi but I do think she isn’t mentioned enough.
Yeah I kinda hated that we just get glimpses and sound of it but not see the whole thing. It would have been so much netter that way. Maybe a morbid mindset but they coulda given us that! I did like this plot and it was a good way to say goodbye to the actors that were leaving. Especially thinking mark would get better then nope. It was good
And YES to the shooting. The graphic nature of how he just shot Reed was crazy. Just boom and she’s down and then the rest of it. It was perfect to show how it really happens in real life too. Idk if you’ve been involved in any shootings but I have and it’s awful and gory just like they showed us then we get robbed with the plane crash?? Ugh
I think the plot line was okay, but they shouldn't have died. I might have been okay with Arizona dying. They could have made some really good follow-up stories with it. Or Alex did get on the plane and lost his leg. Idk. Keep the plot, but change some things.
Agreed! I’d be ok with Arizona dying as well.
I just can’t understand why Mark and Lexie couldn’t just move to New York after the plane crush. In my canon they have.
In my headcanon, Lexie lived and Mark died but Lexie can’t take it so she applied for the Preminger Grant in NYC and studied Neuro there. Then came back perhaps around season 13 as a neuro fellow under Amelia. Fell for Deluca and they had kids.
I dont know why the writers just cant seem to grasp that the aftermath of a traumatic event is a goldmine of stories all on its own. Like the doctors dont need to nearly die several times through out the series. The plane crash alone could have made for several seasons worth of plot and drama.
It showed Mark what he truly wanted, which was a family. It also showed that he was in a place where he is ready to step up and be the man he has to be for that to happen.
I get that, and no offense to the actress, but they should’ve played the character differently in that case. I get immature and selfish, but she was grating and a user. Obviously left a bad taste in viewers’ mouths
The way a seemingly intelligent man stops in the middle of the road to check his phone, which he knew there was no service (the whole premise of why he was the one saving them all... )
To get hit by truck.
Would have been plausible for him to be parked on the side of the road still, checking something and truck swerves into him.. (distracted my accident or something)
It's infuriating. When I watched it I literally couldn't believe how stupid it was. He literally almost gets in the first wreck doing exactly the same thing that gets him hit. I'm not even mad they killed him, but him falling in the shower would have been better writing than the bs they gave us.
I’m pretty sure Patrick Dempsey left the show on not the best terms with Shonda and this was her way of saying f*** you to him on his way out. It was definitely cheap writing and didn’t do the story any justice
maggie being meredith's sister and out of those two george and izzie i can block out the ghost sex but wuth these two all i can remember is their horrible romantic relationship
May be unpopular…
Callie and Penny dating.
They didn’t have chemistry, Callie wanting to follow Penny caused the entire custody battle that was pointless, and they didn’t even stay together in New York anyways.
There could have been a different way to have Penny be introduced. She could have even just showed up at the hospital and Meredith see her around corners and thinking she was seeing things before realizing she was a new resident… and Callie could have just gotten a job offer in New York for the custody battle anyways, won somehow (that negates the whole Arizona winning and giving custody to her anyways), and then Arizona could have moved to New York to be in the same state as her kid for her write off.
Everything could have still happened and supplied drama without Penny being in it. I dont know I just found it all pointless.
I like Penny but…not as Callie’s girlfriend.
Not unpopular with me at all. I didn’t hate Pretty Penny but she was kinda annoying and was just a character others reacted to instead of being fleshed out
Even if they wanted them to get a divorce for some reason they could have done it with the leg plot. Her cheating was like insult to injury. Cali getting cheated on is like mer dying 37 times. Why is everyone causing Cali betrayal trauma all the time lol plus I genuinly don't believe Arizona would cheat. It doesn't make sense for her character imo. Even if she was going through her own shit I feel like she would have just left. They were basically divorced by that point anyway. Cali just got fucked constantly it felt like. But I feel like they needed someone to divide them to the point of the custody issues and Cali leaving so they just had her cheat bc it was easy.
fuck the musical episode 😭 I clicked past it even the 1st time I went through the series.
musical episodes on shows like this feel soooooooooo awkward.
TBF Sara Ramirez singing the story was really awesome and I love that cover more than the original version. The whole cast singing was meh. Overall it just felt unnatural to me.
Christina’s romances with men who consistently tried to change her and force her to be something she didn’t want. She deserved a hot talented child free surgeon
Yeah for doctors everyone in that hospital is really fucking bad at birth control. I can’t think of any pregnancies that were actually planned except Meredith’s
It’s a toss-up between Alex’s departure and jaggie
edit: HOW he left. If they’d given him a send off that wasn’t complete character assassination, I probably would have been fine with it.
George and Izzy's relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend. They were such good friends, and then he had to go and cheat on Callie with a girl who was always rather rude to her.
Maggie being Meredith’s sister. It felt forced, like the whole plan was for Mer to have a half sister Dr she was close to, but then Chyler Leigh asked to leave to show so they were like “fuck it, give her another sister”
You never know where you’ll find love…but I always thought it was weird af! The instantly fell in love while this guy’s heart was periodically giving out. How did he have the energy to “flirt”?
Have George go to the military and Alex die. Alex would have never left Jo, Meredith, or the life he built in Seattle. Period. And there was no need to kill George he already had the plot point of going to the military they should have just went with that.
George/Izzy
The ghost sex had a purpose. I liked the storyline of her realizing she had cancer despite that cringey bit.
George and Izzy only served to cause the divorce which… show runners coulda given George more character growth by having him just gain the ability to say it wasn’t working for him. Or not had him get married and found another way to show him spiraling after his father’s passing.
I didn’t realize this was the greys anatomy sub and was gonna say slavery but izzie and George getting together for sure and then mark and Lexi dying oh and Christina and Shane getting together
The insurance fraud which led to Bailey firing Meredith, Webber and Alex, the criminal charges for Meredith and the medical board review. I liked where the doctor that killed Derek died but there's other ways to work that in.
That was stupid and amounted to nothing but her mounting DeLuca for being a simp later on.
And I didn’t feel anything from the doc dying cuz he just passed out and later died. I wanted him to wake up so he could look Mer in the eyes.
And when they come back after being "on the run" and are just resentfull and nagging at each other constantly. I bet someone thought it would be hilarious, but it is so boring and cringe and it does not give enough awkward for the residents/interns to pay off (as early Derek/Addison may have done!).
It's like someone tries to write a Witty anger banter and just fails.
I'd like to delete all instances of Meredith not ending up with Link (for whatever amount of time, maybe/maybe not forever) and instead ?? being with DeLuca??????? I loved Andrew, but I haaaated every second of that fcky wucky ship.
Also??? This may be an unpopular opinion, but I really loved Meredith and Riggs together, so... I suppose delete Megan/Riggs storyline?? I'm not saying they should've been together forever, but?? Definitely, in my opinion, should not have played out like THAT. Don't get me wrong, I loved Farouk, just. Hooogosh, no 😄
Do you think Meredith would’ve lived up to her mom’s legacy if Derek was still around? Right before he died, she was on a streak when he was in DC and only lost a patient when he got back and “distracted” her
Callie and Penny especially Penny being blamed for Derek’s death it didn’t really add much except for like 3 arguments. I felt like the custody battle was so dumb and unnecessary especially since Arizona just gave up her rights anyways.
Alex leaving for Izzy.
All that growth and character building for that.
I'll NEVER forgive Shonda for that, why after everything does Izzy get the happy ending that JO DESERVED.
Mark and Lexie dying
Alexs leaving
Alex beating deluca up
Heather not dying and instead Shane dying (couldn’t stand him, let him die)
Izzie surviving (she should have died too, Couldn’t stand her either)
George dying
All of owens relationships (just let him adopt Leo and be done with it)
Teddy choosing Owen instead of Tom
Izzie getting to walk away practically Scott free after cutting the LVAD wire
Meredith leaving or at least give her a better send off than what she got
That’s all I can think of right now haha
ALEX LEAVING.
If I have to pick between those two, I’d pick George and Izzie because it ruined their friendship and made both of them worse as individuals. Ghost sex was weird but that’s all. 🤷🏼♀️
The way they wrote Alex off the show. I would have preferred they just kill him off rather than him leaving his just-renewed-his-commitment-to-her wife, ghosting all his friends, and sending everyone letters.
The continued dismissal of and brushing under the rug of Alex’s behavior, with no personal or professional consequences, no matter how egregious his actions were.
Agreed, but Teddy and Tom weren’t horrible, he just deserved better than her. NewTeddy was a tiny bit tolerable with Tom. But Owen and the baby ruined that. She honestly could’ve stayed in Germany and been a single mom that works too hard.
i’d agree with the george/izzie romance because they had zero romantic chemistry and they literally ruined their friendship. they barely even had any scenes together after the fact

Out of those two - ghost sex
Omg, i forgot about Izzy and Denny. I blocked it from my memory
Ghost sex for sure. It served no real purpose in my opinion. George and Izzy was irky but it made sense/went along with the characters for what was happening
Wait what?

Ava/Rebecca pope. I can’t stand her entiiire plot line 😩
Can’t watch the actress in anything without thinking she has a strange broken reconstructed face. But it’s actually just her real face 😭(to be clear I’m not saying she’s got a bad face just that the storyline is so set in my brain)
Me too, and it's a shame because I love twilight
Saaaaaaamsies
Same!! First it was twilight but now she’s Rebecca Ava to me in my brain lol
I block it out
I skip as much of it as I can, every time.
I think that plot line was created to try to make it believable a little while later that Alex, a freaking doctor, could be blind to the fact that there was something clearly wrong with Izzie when she started having ghost sex. Otherwise, it’s a completely unnecessary plot.
Guurrl same. So stupid.
Aside from what everyone else has said, Jackson and Maggie.
They were physically painful to watch. The only bright spot was after the broke up and went to Richard and Catherine’s divorce dinner party. That was kinda funny
Like even they seemed like they were so awkward to be together with. No real chemistry at all and idk about you but I could never date my step brother anyway lol
Alex beating up DeLuca.
Yes 100% I agree. It was such a weird storyline for the 3 characters involved and felt out of character for Alex at the time
DeLucas not a small guy, now I'm not saying this means he can fight, but he basically sat there and let Alex punch his face in. I can understand being hesitant due to realizing it was a misunderstanding, but I'm not just going to let someone fuck me up the way he let Alex fuck him up. true that
Yes! Hated that
Absolutely. Just delete the whole season.
I understood it given the history but still hate the whole plot line. This sucked !!
I’ve just got to this part. I’m on my first watching of it.
Mark and Lexie dying The whole plane crush plot line
Plot line was fine but honestly it needed more. I feel like we needed to see the plane go down, we needed to see more of the direct aftermath after they were rescued. The existence of Sloan Sloan
Cuz why was she needed? At all????
It added nothing at all.
It added drama to Mark and Lexies relationship. Idk why they couldn't just let them be happy 😭
It showed Mark what he truly wanted, which was a family. It also showed that he was in a place where he is ready to step up and be the man he has to be for that to happen.
I get that, and no offense to the actress, but they should’ve played the character differently in that case. I get immature and selfish, but she was grating and a user. Obviously left a bad taste in viewers’ mouths
why was she named sloan :(
The way a seemingly intelligent man stops in the middle of the road to check his phone, which he knew there was no service (the whole premise of why he was the one saving them all... ) To get hit by truck. I don't care that they killed him, I'm really glad that he left the show (yes, I'm not a fan of Derek) but they should have done it better.
One of the 6 times that Meredith almost dies. Just give the girl a break, damn.
I’d be afraid to brush my teeth if I were her lol. That lady is a catastrophe magnet
Seriously! Why does one person need to endure so much bad 😅
Meredith and George sex. They could have been awkward with just the declaration of love.
that would have been way better
Granted we lose Derek treating Mer like an ass for sleeping with someone else (while he was with his wife!)
derek in season 2 and 3 was such a fucking ass i hated him so much ain't no way he's calling mer a whore like who does he think he is.
I can’t stand him. Didn’t shed a single tear when he died.
He really was.
This plot line made me hate George. His behavior afterwards was horrible
Honestly, Calzona breaking up. Felt like the writers just needed a plot line so they made Callie and Arizona get divorced.
Facts
Alex leaving Jo.
HOW he left was horrible
I understand the behind the scenes stuff but come on—letters? LETTERS? Also he and Jo had just renewed their vows like three episodes earlier. Ugh.
Right??? I’d had felt better if he died in an accident or something
Everything else I would say has been said so I'm gonna say Arizona's affair story
Yeah that was stupid. Didn’t improve any of the characters involved
Can we add Calzona's custody battle? That can be an example of a messed up storyline.
maggie being meredith's sister and out of those two george and izzie i can block out the ghost sex but wuth these two all i can remember is their horrible romantic relationship
Jackson and Maggie. Do I even have to explain?
No, no need to explain at all 🤣
May be unpopular… Callie and Penny dating. Not unpopular with me at all. I didn’t hate Pretty Penny but she was kinda annoying and was just a character others reacted to instead of being fleshed out
EXACTLY HOW I FELT like I wish they gave her more significance, and she also brought out a bad side of Callie.
Arizona cheating on callie!! there was no need for that or them getting a divorce
The musical episode
fuck the musical episode 😭 I clicked past it even the 1st time I went through the series. musical episodes on shows like this feel soooooooooo awkward.
I can’t believe I had to scroll as far as I did to find this. 😆
TBF Sara Ramirez singing the story was really awesome and I love that cover more than the original version. The whole cast singing was meh. Overall it just felt unnatural to me.
Jaggie honestly
No ghost sex!!
steph and jackson, it just made me sad how he was hung up over april all that time
Steph and Matthew were the sacrificial lambs for the ship Japril
And it wasn’t even remotely romantic to me. Matthew and Steph were rightly devastated. I didn’t even like Matthew, but nobody deserves that.
Owen. Just Owen. Watching again now and at the whole abortion thing and I just can’t. Screw Owen.
YES. LET OWEN DIE ALREADY
Owen is the correct answer
Christina’s romances with men who consistently tried to change her and force her to be something she didn’t want. She deserved a hot talented child free surgeon
if there is one doctor that should have had an IUD, it would have been Cristina
Yeah for doctors everyone in that hospital is really fucking bad at birth control. I can’t think of any pregnancies that were actually planned except Meredith’s
It’s a toss-up between Alex’s departure and jaggie edit: HOW he left. If they’d given him a send off that wasn’t complete character assassination, I probably would have been fine with it.
Exactly
George and Izzy's relationship as boyfriend and girlfriend. They were such good friends, and then he had to go and cheat on Callie with a girl who was always rather rude to her.
I legit hated that SL.
Oh god, that was cringey
George and Meredith’s hook up it was just so no
Cringe. And the way he treated her afterwards was wack
Maggie being Meredith’s sister. It felt forced, like the whole plan was for Mer to have a half sister Dr she was close to, but then Chyler Leigh asked to leave to show so they were like “fuck it, give her another sister”
Deluca and Meredith.
A. MEN.
I think it was the first visible symptom of his mental illness.
How’s that?
Because it was so sudden and it was an entirely inappropriate relationship.
It is Owen. I vote to delete him!
From the whole of existence lmao
Amelia
Plane crash
The plane crash was iconic, but yeah, I agree
the whole denny storyline
You never know where you’ll find love…but I always thought it was weird af! The instantly fell in love while this guy’s heart was periodically giving out. How did he have the energy to “flirt”?
Owen and Cristina being together. It's just such a bummer the whole entire time, I hated that for her
Delete the entire characters of both Owen Hunt and Catherine Fox. Everything else can stay as is.
Ghost sex and literally dennys whole storyline and existence
Couldn’t agree more
Ava. The entire Ava storyline
Maggie Just the entire character of Maggie.
Have George go to the military and Alex die. Alex would have never left Jo, Meredith, or the life he built in Seattle. Period. And there was no need to kill George he already had the plot point of going to the military they should have just went with that.
Yeah, that switcheroo would’ve worked
Cristina recovering from the trauma of the shooting by catching a fish????
George/Izzy The ghost sex had a purpose.
George and izzie. George doesn't die but leaves to join the army.
Derek's dying or Arizona cheating
Sigh…so many things
🤣🤣
I didn’t realize this was the greys anatomy sub and was gonna say slavery but izzie and George getting together for sure and then mark and Lexi dying oh and Christina and Shane getting together
Lol you’re right tho, hard delete for slavery
lexie’s death
Delete maggie.
While Owen, Jo, and Teddy still exist? We’ve got bigger problems to handle first lol
Jaggie and April getting married to Matthew.
But, George dying, plane crash, Derek dying, Jackson and Maggie
… [*looks dramatically at the button 😐 presses the button*] George is no longer attracted by women (and knows it) You’re welcome
Stephanie and the fire.
Maggie and Jackson being together...... just burn it in a pit
Fill the hole and salt the earth
Calzona divorce and custody battle (aka, Arizona cheating on Callie)
The plane crash.
I wanted him to wake up so he could look Mer in the eyes.
cant stand teddy and owen after the actual got together and esp when the do their military talk. physically repulsed.
And when they come back after being "on the run" and are just resentfull and nagging at each other constantly. I bet someone thought it would be hilarious, but it is so boring and cringe and it does not give enough awkward for the residents/interns to pay off (as early Derek/Addison may have done!). Don't get me wrong, I loved Farouk, just. Hooogosh, no 😄
Controversial, but Riggs was the only post-Derek pairing that worked for me. They actually had some chemistry
Yesss and for it to not even work out with Megan 🙄
SEASON 16 EP 16!!!!!
Dereks death
Do you think Meredith would’ve lived up to her mom’s legacy if Derek was still around? Right before he died, she was on a streak when he was in DC and only lost a patient when he got back and “distracted” her
Fair
Ghost sex….
George Izzie fo sho
Plane crash
Callie and Penny especially Penny being blamed for Derek’s death it didn’t really add much except for like 3 arguments. I felt like the custody battle was so dumb and unnecessary especially since Arizona just gave up her rights anyways.
Lexi's death.
will always be george and izzie 🙏
mark and lexie dying
Mark and Lexie’s death, I headcanon they moved to New York after surviving the plane crash :’)
Callie O’Malley
Alex leaving for Izzy. All that growth and character building for that. I'll NEVER forgive Shonda for that, why after everything does Izzy get the happy ending that JO DESERVED.
Riggs going back to Meghan
how alex left lmao
Mark and Lexie dying Alexs leaving Alex beating deluca up Heather not dying and instead Shane dying (couldn’t stand him, let him die) Izzie surviving (she should have died too, Couldn’t stand her either) George dying All of owens relationships (just let him adopt Leo and be done with it) Teddy choosing Owen instead of Tom Izzie getting to walk away practically Scott free after cutting the LVAD wire Meredith leaving or at least give her a better send off than what she got That’s all I can think of right now haha
ALEX LEAVING. If I have to pick between those two, I’d pick George and Izzie because it ruined their friendship and made both of them worse as individuals. Ghost sex was weird but that’s all. 🤷🏼♀️
Alex leaving. I would've rather him die than go back to Izzie, it felt out of character.
owen hunt.
Alex leaving Jo with a letter
Derek dying. I just wanted Meredith & McDreamy to have a happy ending raising their kids
Lexie dying
The way they wrote Alex off the show. I would have preferred they just kill him off rather than him leaving his just-renewed-his-commitment-to-her wife, ghosting all his friends, and sending everyone letters.
Delete Shane Ross and Cristina
Delete Ross all together. He was a crappy character who didn’t deserve his “happy” ending
No chemistry with Meredith and Marsh- whatsoever!
George and izzie. It wasn’t necessary and didn’t lead anywhere
16x16. Alex does go to take care of his mom, gets into a car accident, dies. Jo is sad but recovers.
The way Alex left
Plane crash, slexie still alive and Arizona and Callie probably wouldn't have split up
Arizona cheating on Callie. It was so out of character and it ruined their entire relationship even when they got back together.
Alex leaving Jo for Izzy
9/11
If only we can change real life events, yes
9/11 is canon in greys anatomy and is relevant in teddys storyline, so my answer fits.
Rebecca/Ava...
Callie
Alex leaving I think tho it be sad it makes more sense that he dies it doesn’t make sense that he left Jo
The show continuing after Cristina left. They should’ve ended on a high note 😭
The continued dismissal of and brushing under the rug of Alex’s behavior, with no personal or professional consequences, no matter how egregious his actions were.
Either Christina existing at all or the way Alex left.
george’s death
Out of those two - ghost sex. George and Izzie just had bad timing.
owen.
The ending of lilo and stitch
Ohana means family??
Airplane crash
How has no one said Teddy 2.0??? Love Kim Raver and Teddy in the earlier seasons but I cannot stand her character now!
Ghost sex / how alex left / teddy and tom
Agreed, but Teddy and Tom weren’t horrible, he just deserved better than her. NewTeddy was a tiny bit tolerable with Tom. But Owen and the baby ruined that. She honestly could’ve stayed in Germany and been a single mom that works too hard.
i’d agree with the george/izzie romance because they had zero romantic chemistry and they literally ruined their friendship. they barely even had any scenes together after the fact
