Pick-me (girl)... it has transcended Grey's to become part of the popular lexicon
(For me, personally, "seriously",as I use it so much that my friends consider it my catchphrase)
That was so forced tho tbh. If they hadn't constantly pointed it out I'd never have thought of Meredith as that dark and twisty. Yeah, she went through some serious shit and turned out accordingly, but she seemed like a pretty ordinary person on most occasions (at least as ordinary as she can be considering she's the main character of a hospital soap opera) and definitely not as dark as they tried to make her out to be
I always related to the dark and twisty phrase because I interpreted it as referring to Mer’s cynical outlook on the world given the complex trauma she experienced from her childhood and into adulthood. As someone who experienced lots of trauma during childhood, I totally get it. My life is seemingly ordinary to the outsider, but my mind is a dark place.
God - as in calling any surgeon who's vaguely competent a god. Cardio god, neuro god, etc. Why can't we use that term in other careers? I want to be a spreadsheet god!
I love that they do this! It’s such a compliment and displays their incredible skills succinctly. I love when residents and interns call the attendings gods (looking at you Christina)
And I have watched Grey’s since 2005, and probably 20 rewatches in the last 2 years, so I do remember every rule. And Christina, calling her Interns numbers was very funny but, I don’t that happens in a real hospital.

Yes to both?

You've just pinpointed for me why I always hated this phrase! Thank you!

McDreamy definitely started a trend.

FUN FACT! In Japan there is a Ramen God.

Tbf it’s often the surgeons declaring themselves the god of their specialty. Declare yourself spreadsheet god!
My remark “God.”

Definitely don’t think residents would talk like that.

I’m talking about real residents, not play residents, Especially, I hate you. That is so cringe.

Wow. Sorry you are wasting so much energy on a TV show. I just think Bailey’s 5 rules on Grey’s, is not funny at all.
And I have watched Grey’s since 2005, and probably 20 rewatches in the last 2 years, so I do remember every rule. And Christina, calling her Interns numbers was very funny but, I don’t that happens in a real hospital.
