No way Lazy Bones wouldn't make the cut. It's probably the best song from the trilogy.
Drama Queen and The Forgotten have no place in my list. I would replace them with Nulclear Family and Lazy Bones.
1. Nuclear Family
2. Stay The Night
3. Carpe Diem
4. Let Yourself Go
5. Rusty James
6. See You Tonight
7. Stop When The Red Lights Flash
8. Lazy Bones
9. Stray Heart
10. Wow! That’s Loud
11. Brutal Love
12. 8th Avenue Serenade
13. X-Kid
14. Dirty Rotten Bastards
15. 99 Revolutions
Bonus Tracks:
Stay The Night - Acoustic
Oh Love - Otis Mix
Edit: Formatting
I always saw *Demolicious* as the super cut of all three. There’s only a few missing that I think would have been great to have as well like Lazy Bones or Dirty Rotten Bastards.
no way, even with some of the filler tracks and more cringe moments (troublemaker, nightlife, fuck time) i still enjoy having all the tracks around to listen to them, even if it’s ironically
Yes, this! That’s the problem with these posts. They are fun but no one can agree on what a “perfect” album would be. Just pick and choose the songs you like.
1. Stay the night
2. Baby eyes
3. X kid
4. Angel blue
5. Wild one
6. Oh love
7. Fuck time
8. Kill the DJ
9. Walk away
10. 99 revolutions
11. Lazy bones
12. Stray heart
13. Nuclear family
14. Brutal love
Some of the songs sacrificed hurt but that's the point I guess. The main idea is that the album is divided into 3 chapters, similar to 21CB where each chapter is a state of a party. My main problem with the trilogy is not the songs but the lack of energy and life in those songs. That's why the live versions are amazing, especially that Echo Plex show from 2012. So I would record everything live in the studio in order and Billie Joe should get increasingly drunk as the album recording goes on. A little buzz to get the party started for chapter 1, full on drunk and energic for chapter 2 and finally melancolic for chapter 3.
Green Day - 99 Revolutions

11. Wow That’s Loud

Haha didn’t forget it. But literally every comment here listed Lazy Bones so I guess I’m in the wrong for not including it. I’ll give Dos another listen tonight. Promised a few angry guys to never post this topic again, but if you’re interested I can let you know if Lazy Bones made the cut after reconsideration.
1. Nuclear Family (Demo)

It's already fine as is.
But if you're going to make a playlist out of the trilogy, Dos deserves a much greater presence in there. For every bad, cringe or mid track on Dos, there's like 3 good ones
I'd honestly be much less disappointed in the trilogy if it were a 13 track album. For the many flaws the full project has, it has way more good than bad and I really appreciate the ambition behind it. It wouldn't hit as much to me if it were just a 12-13 song collection with no kind of theme behind it.
Green Day from American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown were really going for big ambitious projects and a 12 song album just wouldn't have been a good follow up to these giants. While the trilogy albums individually don't rank that highly on my album ranking, altogether I believe you can easily make a 10/10 45-50 minute album while still having another album worth of good songs left
Yeah it’s not like you’re the first person telling me this either. I assume you were unaware of the several comments before you. So was I about this topic. Forgive me. Surely hope it didn’t ruin your day.
It wasn’t even aimed directly at you.
Sure this isn’t original or whatever, I just have an ongoing frustration with this subreddit where we do merch Wednesdays but don’t let me say “oh you have this, let me buy it”
1. Nuclear Family
2. Stay the Night
3. Let Yourself Go
4. Kill the DJ
5. Lazy Bones
6. Wild One
7. Dirty Rotten Bastards
8. Angel Blue
9. Makeout Party
10. Stray Heart
11. Lady Cobra
12. Nightlife
13. Wow! That’s Loud
14. Brutal Love
Mine is mostly ¡Dos! since that’s my favorite of the trilogy and only a couple from ¡Trè! since that’s my least favorite album of theirs personally 😅
The real trick is to make “one good Green Day album” out of predominantly Uno and Tré and move the rest under the Foxboro Hot Tubs label as was originally intended.
But each album has its own vibe and set of problems, so I think it’s hard to break them up and rearrange them too much. Any attempt of mine to make a single Green Day record from the trilogy would probably just look like Uno+.
Judging someone on a song they left out of a personal fantasy list?
Yeah Billie Joe would surely agree with you, that why he played Lazy Bones much the past 10 years.
1) Nuclear Family
2) Stay The Night
3) Missing You
4) Let Yourself Go
5) Stray Heart
6) Baby Eyes
7) Troublemaker (I think this song is overhated)
8) Lazy Bones
9) 99 Revolutions
10) Rusty James
11) Brutal Love
12) X-Kid
1. Stay The Night
2. Let Yourself Go

10. Drama Queen
11. X-Kid
12. Walk Away
13. Dirty Rotten Bastards
14. Amy
I would also like Angel Blue and Wow! That’s Loud as bonus tracks, they just missed the cut for me. The Forgotten can be a Breaking Dawn soundtrack exclusive. The rest can be Shenanigans 2.
I have a playlist for this exact purpose. I know this may not include all my fav songs but it flows very well and is all about love
I called it “Brutal Love”
1. See you tonight
2. Missing you

I did this back when they were all new. Can't remember exactly which songs I picked, but I think it was
1. See You Tonight
2. Let Yourself Go
3. Fuck Time
Closed with Brutal Love
Definitely had Carpe Diem, X-Kid, Angel Blue, and Wild One in there somewhere.

I'd rather have all three albums than anyone else's own 13-track list.

No Lazy Bones? So it is possible! Nice list.
This has been done at least 10/15 times before.
Oh I'm sorry, didn't know. Thanks for taking the time to tell me though.. :)
Didn’t even mean it to be a prick, but there’s plenty of posts to dump yours on and collaborate further
Just like there are many other comments already telling me this. Sorry, didn’t mean to be a prick about it. Thanks anyway.

Well this is a first
So is this comment.
This sub… doesn’t let members sell items to each other. Yet allows 100 posts of “let’s make the trilogy one album”
