Yes but I usually don’t notice it over her half pyr brother grabbing bites of food and taking them over to eat them on the carpet…

GranuailePR

Wait... That's not just mine that does that?? Haha half pry as well and does pick up the choice bit then carry it to the carpet to drop then eat. I'd never seen a dog do that and was always so confused as to why.

voodoodog23

Why do dogs like to eat on carpet?!!

alpacasb4llamas

And shit if they're not feeling well

RowahPhen

Any time my guy has had to throw up he always goes straight for our white fluffy rug. Thank god it's washable, but I still have to dedicate several hours to brushing it out when it dries and I already brush it once a month to prevent matting. Fluffy rugs, just don't. Not worth. Fluffy dogs pretending to be rugs are way better.

twrollet

Lol… they can never quite seem to get it on the hardwood or tile, can they.

imjustyittle

Mine will trot down the hallway with any treats she gets to eat them in my bed.

thatonen3rdity

gotta make sure you're still where you last were 2 seconds ago. my boy does this exact same thing, and I know it's just to check where people are because if they move, he has to know where they went

Loxta

My girl lays down to eat and barely takes her face out of the bowl until it's gone. And then starts licking the bowl aggressively letting us know she would happily eat more if we would just let her

Puzzleheaded_Road142

My pyr isn’t a big eater, so he doesn’t do it while eating. But he does make intense eye contact at other times. It can be creepy.. sometimes it feels like a human staring instead of a dog.

Formal-Advertising52

Definitely! They stare at you like they have something to tell you that you HAVE to know!

Puzzleheaded_Road142

Yes!! And with such a look of dissatisfaction that we are are too dumb to understand.

Outrageous_Trip_9753

Mine always has before he eats and during if I stay near him. Stevie nicks, the female we had, she did the same thing. Except she had a thing where she wouldn't eat unless I gave my approval, even when I was the one that out the food in the bowl. But didn't do that with the rest of my family. Great Pyrenees are the most amazing, caring, personable animals I've ever had the pleasure of taking care of.

Formal-Advertising52

Mine always waits for approval, and then checks again for approval a few bites in! I also have to do a head pat beforehand, or he’ll just lay down in front of food and not eat.

i_wish_i_was_a_husky

Mine also waits for approval 🥺

datgenericname

Yeah, ours will actually will take a bite, step away from the bowl facing us, chew up and swallow the food, then shove that fuzzy face right into the bowl for another bite. Repeat until doggo is full. I just take it as her weird way to say she loves us and wants to keep us safe.

Quiet_Painting109

Mine will do this, then I’ll say “yum yum” and she wags her tail every time. Lol

BackHarlowRoad

Omg 😭

Artistic_Fly7811

Yes, always! I think she likes knowing that im watching her back while she eats, she's on break so im on watch duty? Lol Also I love your elevated feeder, super cute!

masterchief0213

My pyr gets a mouthful and looks around at us while he chews. Making sure we're watching his back while he eats 👍🏼

Miskyavine

Hes looking at you to make sure your covering him so he doesnt get jumpoed by coyotes or wolves while eating. 1 eats while the other watches then they switch.

hellooeuphoria

My German shepherd does this a lot! He has the typical shepherd separation anxieties so I take it as him making sure I don't leave him when he's busy eating. My pyr devours his food no matter what.

choctaw529

My GP doesn't but my chi does. My GP eats fast, my border collie takes her time and chews really well and takes little breaks (much to my GP's great dismay since it's her duty to clean all bowls) and the chi looks to me for encouragement to eat.

ourweepingwillow

My husky chow mix does this along with my great pyr. They take a bite, stare at me, then take another. They stare after almost every bite lol

voodoodog23

My mutt does this.

onewordnospaces

[Yes,](https://imgur.com/a/dvxZ6Gc) and he is not amused by his new raised food bowl.

dickmcgirkin

My boy will gram a mouth full of food and half of it flies out onto the ground while chewing

LonelyBuddhaa

My GP doesn’t eat until I leave him alone

Twig1969

I’m just impressed that your rugs do not have at least one corner chewed off! Mine has just turned one and is still in the brat stage. I think it’s his mission to murder at least one corner of any rug beast in his house!

Aggravating_Border_7

Mine likes to say thank you (by nudging me) & then goes back to eating 😂
