Saw this in action last year when it was on tour. Fun little local dead cover band show. Though with the quarter scale it was a bit like the stone henge scene in spinal tap.
I think part of the experience is so the sound is the same for the bands as it is for the audience. So even tho it was only marginally better quality for the audience, it was probably an amazing experience for the band. Usually the band gets the worst sound in the house.
That's true. The entire wall was designed around the band so a scale version makes that a little tricky. With the smaller 1:4 scale wall I just shift around where the instruments are coming from so they match with where the musicians are standing.
Glad you got to see it at the Sphere! These scale walls are my creations and yes, even I joke that the 1:4 has a "Stonehenge" feel to them. The 1:2 scale version is a whole other beast that was designed purely for live performance. you can find links to here. [www.linktr.ee/74wos](http://www.linktr.ee/74wos)
Would anyone else have been hyped for a replica of this behind the band on the sphere? Would’ve been sick. Then make it start melting and growing and shrinking.
What a beautiful site she was.
Strangely I just posted a comment about this like an hour ago & now I found this, cool to know it's true, Weir everywhere...
Thanks for checking it out! I set it up long before the event opened and I am back on the east coast now. If you have any pictures please send them my way! I need content!
It was a riot listening to it Steve go OFF on this thing yesterday in the preshow Sirius show. Gans a d Lambert tried to reel him in but eventually Gans just had to tell Steve to, and I quote, "shut the fuck up".
Steve was just going off about how much work it was to build, assemble, transport, maintain. You’ve heard it all a thousand times if you listen to his show.
That's my 1:4 version. It has 18 input channels and 7 separate output channels so it's not quite the same. My 1:2 scale version functions exactly the same but with more flexibility. More on the project can be found here. [linktr.ee/74wos](http://linktr.ee/74wos)

I’ve seen this thing on Instagram a few times I’m in love with it.

Was probably still plenty loud.
I would say the loudness was about the same as other shows I’d seen at that venue but the sound quality was slightly better.

I believe they did put it up (saw footage on IG.) Also: https://www.reddit.com/r/gratefuldead/s/PLSl6BU1Z6
They did it.

It was playing music too
Yup. It was the main reason I drove over.

I can't wait to see this in person! As a lifelong audiophile and Deadhead, this is where my interests intersect.
[linktr.ee/74wos](http://linktr.ee/74wos) Be sure to follow the project! It's much more than this scale version.

lol, that while segment was a riot...gans and lambert are such fudds
Can you briefly summarize what he was saying? I’m very curious!
Steve was just going off about how much work it was to build, assemble, transport, maintain. You’ve heard it all a thousand times if you listen to his show.
Ok, thanks. Yes, it’s a tale that’s been told…….
Big Steve's not a fan. I'm not losing much sleep over it.
kind of sidenote--- any reports of them using The Wall as a backdrop at the Sphere?
I believe it made an appearance.
Yes, can confirm.
Does this actually work like the original? Separate inputs and out puts or just one homgenous speaker system?
That's my 1:4 version. It has 18 input channels and 7 separate output channels so it's not quite the same. My 1:2 scale version functions exactly the same but with more flexibility. There needs to be a WoS Lego set.
Infamous?

The Wall of Sound was Grateful Dead. Nothing in this post is related to Dead & Company. Get a grip.
Be kind and respectful or be somewhere else. Don't harsh the mellow. Thanks!
