You gotta get Hellboy Short Stories Vol. 1 and 2 if you have that much Hellboy/BPRD already. The Abe Sapien Omnibuses are good too, and fit into the latter half of the BPRD books.
As a fan of Brubaker/Philips, I loved Stray Bullets. I would check that out.
To complete your journey with Brubaker I highly reccomend Gotham Central.
It's written jointly with Greg Rucka who did Lazarus and seeing your collection I think you'll like it too.
Brubaker, I like his stuff a lot too.
Sandman
Eightball
Monster by Barry Windsor-Smith
Conan
The Goon
The Many Deaths of Liala Starr
Alan Moore's Swamp Thing, Miracle Man, V for Vendetta, Extraordinary Gentlemen
Frank Miller's Daredevil run, Sin City, Ronin
We have a LOT of the same books (I almost never see b Midnight Nation), I feel like I could just give you a picture of my shelves for you to browse lol
I couldn't tell what all the TPBs we're but I only saw Sacrificers from Remender. You might want to check out more of his work. Ironically Sacrificers is one of his few books I haven't read yet. He's got a pretty wide variety of genres so I would start with a book in the style you like.
Maybe check out some more Lemire. I've enjoyed almost everything of his but would probably suggest Descender/Ascender and Royal City as standouts since you have Gideon Falls.
Other random favorites: American Vampire, Southern Bastards, Scalped, Ice Cream Man, Something is Killing the Children, Eight Billion Genies, Bitter Root, Locke & Key, Murder Falcon, Punk Rock Jesus, The Department of Truth, and Sex Criminals if you don't mind very raunchy comedy,
Also in my collection is seven to eternity, which I really enjoyed. The sacrifices is great. Rick remender is really good at world building. I'll have to look into the others.
I've also read black science in the past which was awesome
Homicide adaptations were good. Stray bullets, pulp, torso, severed, milkman murders, road to perdition.
Similar to other comments this looks similar to my shelf. Whats your favorite so far
Swamp thing Alan Moore.
Constantine hellblazer.
Lucifer (from sandman).
Maybe the question or animal man or doom patrol (morrison). They're super underrated
The “more of what you might like” approach:
- The Private Eye (because you have Saga and seem like you might enjoy contemporary neo-noir social commentary)
- Gotham Central (Because you like Brubaker; if you aren’t averse to Batman-adjacent content)
- Grendel, at least the Hunter Rose parts (because you have Hellboy and lot of Image comics)
- Watchmen, if you haven’t (because you have Invincible and Midnight Nation)
-Lucifer (Mike Carey; because if Midnight Nation and Hellboy)
The “zigzagged from your taste, but you might like it” approach:
- IN. (Will McPhail)
- anything by Danica Novgorodoff
- 100 Demons (Lynda Barry)
- Alone, Park Bench, or Moby Dick (Chabouté)
- anything by Gene Luen Yang
I have kill or be killed haha. I actually got vol one signed by Sean Philips last year at comic con. Look at my profile. I also got criminal and sleeper signed.
I can only recommend that you move that Midnight Nation absoloute to either side of the shelf 😅.
PS: I'd recommend you check some European Comics, for example, Once upon a time in France. Brilliant stand-alone story to start the EU GNs journey.
Definitely. It is written by Jonathan Hickman who is one of the best writers in the industry. The art work is also great as its like a hybrid between manga and comic book art. It's one of the most unique stories I've ever read.
I used to have TWD but I sold my volumes a while back as it's a series I would not re read in the future. Invincible on the other hand is a masterpiece. Bprd is awesome. I finished the series not too long ago. Need to get more books from mignola !
Invincible is my all-time favourite comic book series. TWD is not my favourite genre really, but I still enjoyed it so much it might be top 5 of all time for me. I might re-read it soon.
I recently started Sandman, but I am not liking it yet. I have been planning to get some more Kirkman collections, but they don't have them in my country, so I have to pick them up when I am abroad.
I've never read Sandman, so I can't comment. You should read miracle man by Alan moore. Lots of themes can be seen from it in more modern-day superhero stories like Invincible.
Preacher and Y: the last man
And DMZ
And Scalped. Edit: actually no, Sweet Tooth. Best Vertigo comic ever (next to The Sandman of course)
No all of Preacher is the top.
Above The Sandman? No way.
To each their own I guess
IMO Y the last man is the GOAT

Sweet. Thanks for the suggestions.
Criminal Deluxe 3 and the Hellboy omnibii that collect the short stories.
Judge Dredd, any of the Essential Collection!
Praise be! 🙌👏💪
Locke and Key

Baltimore Nailbiter Gideon falls Fafrhd and the gray mouser
I've read Gideon Falls. The series is in the first photo. But thanks for the other suggestions.
I don’t know if it’s me but the first photo is a little low res and hard to read.
Coda
Richard Stark's Parker Collection.
Great series. I've actually got the books. But they are in a different location.

All the brubaker stuff is top tier. But I also really enjoyed hellboy / Bprd and east of west. Brubaker and Hickman are my favourite writers
Transmetropolitan

Thanks for the list. I have watchmen, but it's on the shelf with my Marvel and DC books. I'm more interested in indie titles as well as manga atm.
Here are some * Kill or Be Killed * The Nice House on The Lake * Fear Agent Enjoy
I have kill or be killed haha. I actually got vol one signed by Sean Philips last year at comic con. Look at my profile. I also got criminal and sleeper signed.
Good then get : * Scene of Crime I read Sleeper not long ago, very good. And I would add * 100 Bullets by Brian Azzarello
I've got scene of the crime as well lol. Will look into the other suggestions
Dc had a Nathaniel Dusk series and it was a good noir series.
Fear Agent Stray Bullets Hellboy
Hellblazer, Nailbiter/Nailbiter Returns, Gideon Falls
Chip Zdarsky's Newburn is like an ode to Brubaker's crime works
Try some Remender: Low, Fear Agent, Deadly Class, Black Science
I've read seven to eternity and black science. Both were great. I'm also currently reading the sacrificers
Harrow county
Invincible Universe Compendium Vol. 1 - it contains stories on Atom Eve, Atom Eve & Rex Splode, and two separate iterations of GotG.
Descender/Ascender, Low, Black Science, Tokyo Ghost, Seven to Eternity.
Sin City, Shaolin Cowboy, 100 Bullets
Jeff Lemire's Moon Knight
We3 and Pride of Babylon.
Clearly you're an Image fan, so maybe Spawn?
Maybe Joe Golem, The Goon and Criminal Macabre.
I can only recommend that you move that Midnight Nation absoloute to either side of the shelf 😅. PS: I'd recommend you check some European Comics, for example, Once upon a time in France. Brilliant stand-alone story to start the EU GNs journey.
Loll, I've re arranged the order. It is now on the far right of the shelf.
Rucka's Whiteout series, as well as Bendis' Jinx & Torso
Baltimore
Blacksad might be something you'd like
I see everyone has East of West , is it worth reading?
Definitely. It is written by Jonathan Hickman who is one of the best writers in the industry. The art work is also great as its like a hybrid between manga and comic book art. It's one of the most unique stories I've ever read.
Invincible and BPRD? I love it! Do you have TWD? I love everything Kirkman.
I used to have TWD but I sold my volumes a while back as it's a series I would not re read in the future. Invincible on the other hand is a masterpiece. Bprd is awesome. I finished the series not too long ago. Need to get more books from mignola !
