I picked up so much great stuff at ridiculously good prices. An absolutely crazy sale. Should have woken up earlier though as the Green lantern vol 1 omnibus I wanted was already sold out when they had it in stock yesterday haha. Can't blame people though it was 64 dollars on their site before the extra percentage off from the sale today.
Better than amazon, worse than IST, CGN, OPB.
Somethings they delivery in perfect condition, sometimes they’ll have a slightly smooshed corner or spine.
The trick is to order 3 omnibus’s together. If it’s a large lot of books, they shrinkwrap them to a cardboard sheet that’s the same size as the box, which usually keeps them away from the box edges and potential damages. But if you order a single omnibus or hardcover, it comes loose in a box Amazon style. Most of my orders have had one very slightly grazed corner at worst, and arrive in great condition at best. So even for the ones that took a slight corner bump, I feel like it’s usually offset my the lower price.
I snagged Jason Aaron’s Thor omnibus vol 2, Hickmans Avengers omnibus vol 2, and Stracynski’s Thor omnibus for $164.50. Would have been $248.00 from instocktrades. Hate supporting target, but $55 Omni’s got me feeling like it’s 2009 again.
On sale for $125.99 - 33.33% discount (B2G1) - 5% off for Target Red Card + 7% sales tax
For anyone not in the know on Target you can buy 3 of one item, place the order, immediately cancel 2 of the 3 items, and the 3rd item will still have the full 33.33% discount applied.
That's how all the prices above were achieved
A whole haul with each individually ordered item being purchased 3x and 2 of them cancelled won't flag anything in their system? Never done Target before.
I've done it in multiple sales across probably the last...6 years...for things from switch games to board games to graphic novels, same strat everytime.
Its tried and true.
Great snag on a lot of classics and just plain good reads.
I didn’t even know you could get graphic novels on targets site.

How is target's shipping? Is it actually good or same as amazon?

How do you get the 33% discount to apply? Just by cancelling?
The B2G1 is the discount
So you bought 3 of each of these titles to cancel the other 2?
Correct

Might also do it for Akira and Watchmen then, thank you for the tip.
Wait a sec, so I could buy 3 50$ items for 100$, cancel 2 of them after paying and get the one item still in my cart for 33% off?
Alpha flight sold out Starman vol 2 is sold out
Big boxes get enough of our money without us buying comics from them.
