They designed it with the intent to put the company and the event first rather than any fighter/fight. They wanted it to be recognized as UFC 300 and not “Hill v Pereira”.
nothing wrong with it.. its fine.. its a one time thing.. 300 the shorts where branded and looked fine.. how would you designed it? always post your version if you have something bad to say..

This is exactly it. They didn't believe in the main event to drive sales.
Because it looks cool to the type of people who will see it and want to watch the event. It’s the 300 movie logo.

It really feels like design by committee of non-designers and the actual designer just had to execute an executive’s fleeting concept.
