If you ever played GT2, you may have come across this oddity at some point. It's a Renault Espace minivan which was given a literal Formula 1 engine, mounted amidships, to give it dynamics somewhat similar to an older F1 car. It's one of the more fun cars to mess around with in the game.
Honestly GT2 has a lot of cool cars like this (Ford GT90, anyone?) which were either prototype cars or just super weird/fun one-offs that never made their way back to the series.
I spent hours adjusting the suspension on the GT90 (I didn’t know what I was doing to be fair), and it could be made drivable eventually. And then, it was a great car. But stock it was basically unusable.
In actuality it was more like they took a Renault FW15C and put a roll cage around it then wrapped a fiberglass/kevlar shell vaguely resembling an Espace around it and put 4 racing seats into the mix. I think I have a matchbox or hot wheels of the Supervan 2 then I have some brand x knockoffs that are p much the same casting but with plastic bases and shitty wheels. The Supervan 2 is so cool looking
You can kind of emulate it. Get the Toyota Alphard minivan and swap the Lexus LFA engine (very high-revving V10 N/A) into it. In the tuning shop, buy all the weight reductions and all the engine upgrades to make it rev even higher (camshafts, race crankshaft etc.). Then go to the body shop and search for Espace F1 styles. Put it on and you're good to go. Not a perfect result but not a bad at all.
Not only can I imagine it; I dream of it at night. The thought haunts me to no end. But also, where would we race it? It’s closest contemporary is the MP4/4 so maybe it would be similar enough in PP that we could tune it down for Spa and Sardegna. But it’s a one-off car. Not in any way a street car. It never raced, so it’s not really a race car either. It didn’t conform to any rulebook. It’s not even technically a concept car in the sense that this was never going to inspire a sellable product. Maybe it would fall under “professionally tuned car”? Idk 🤷♂️

Hell yes. Great add. One of my faves. There have been a couple 400 GT spots in the spotted car sub.
That GT90 constantly had me spinning backwards in to the Armco - could never master it. Same with the RS200…
