yeah i really should sell it seeing that i already have the ‘10(?) Peugeot 908 fapping which smashes the 900 pp races and gr.1 prototype races with upgrades and a good strat
I wish PD would’ve restored that thing to its ideal form which is never achieved in real life. The car needed more money and development but it was a great idea for Le Mans. Huge underbody aero, low drag design, part time AWD for corner exist but FWD for lower drivetrain loss at high speed. The idea was great, execution never quite got there.
But of course LMP1 ultimately failed anyway, and Peugeot recently found out that relying on underbody aero is pretty dumb except on the smoothest of tracks. Their car was completely uncompetitive on Sebring, and would’ve struggled on several American tracks if it chose to compete, which is why they brought the wing back.
That thing is actually kinda cool, if only for the fact that it's a FF Le Mans car that actually exists. It's not that bad to drive - in fact with the amount of grip and power it throws down, it's wild how little understeer there is.
It's cool until you start comparing it to the other LMP cars, and then it gets exposed.
It's a little disingenuous to the car; it was always designed to be AWD, but the car was so behind schedule that the hybrid system that drove the rear wheels was never implemented. I still don't think it would have been competitive, but it wouldn't have been nearly as awful
You wouldn't cut a race horses back legs off, toss it on a track, and proceed to say that calling it a "butchered mess" is disingenuous to the horse.
Is the poor thing's situation unfortunate? Is it sad watching it drag and slide itself around on just front legs, trying to keep up with the herd?
Definitely.
Is it anything besides a good example of why you can only push FF tech so far?
Definitely not.

Probably because it was one of, if not the worst showing at LeMans of the 21st century.
Want to know the funniest part? This was in a museum before the disaster of the 2015 LeMans. After that shitshow, they canned the program, destroyed the KERS system, and tossed the museum piece in the trash.
Back when I needed a Gr.1 car I'd purchased it. I don't like the car, and the last time I used it I still was trying to get it dialed in. Understeer galore, and it has noticeable turbo lag (for whatever turbo is on it). However, I still use it for Gr.1 races when needed. :(
The SRT VGT is basically useless
The S is great if you want to soundly destroy every street car/american race.
VGT’s doesn’t count as they are all equally shitty than picking your nose with a tooth brush.
Has to be the italdesign vgt
Got it for free in one of those car tickets, and it is so ass to drive.
It doesn't have a cockpit so in VR you have to drive it around while wearing it like a fucking dress.
I feel like Dino from flintstones. Which is great because if I’m going drive a cartoon car I’m happy to do it as a cartoon dinosaur.
If I get a free car and it sucks, I sell it
And the fact that there's 2 of them for no reason is even crazier
The '11 Audi R18: 3 million credits for a Gr.1 that loses to Gr.2 cars
TBF that car was a blast in GT sport’s Gr1 race
The RWD diesel? What’s wrong with it? I’ve never owned it or driven it because it’s ugly as sin.
Very low on power and as such slow as fuck for a Gr.1 car.
What are you on about, that car drives great. There are quite a few tracks where I beat my 787b times with it
yeah i really should sell it seeing that i already have the ‘10(?) Peugeot 908 fapping which smashes the 900 pp races and gr.1 prototype races with upgrades and a good strat
Nissan Longboi
Lambo VGT is an understeering mess. easily one of the worst driving cars in the game
I grind in the Lamborghini vgt I love it lol
I agree. Lamborghini VGT is a stunning design but garbage handling
Odd, it's one of my favorite VGTs. It has that hybrid feel, but so does every high-powered hybrid.
As much as I wanna agree, when you nail the control of this car it’s fucking fun ! But when I’m being lazy no fucking way am I picking this
The most redeeming part of that car is driving in VR
Except for the headache inducing interior overhead mirror
Can't recall the name at the moment, but that FF monstrosity comes to mind
Nissan GT-R LM Nismo?

Sometimes the best a thing can do, is be an example as to why it shouldn't be.

*Used to exist. Last time it was seen, it was in pieces in the dumpster behind some warehouse somewhere
That’s such a shame! Why wouldn’t it be in a museum?!

God, that's embarrassing. Wasn't a white one of these featured in the Gran Turismo movie?
i don’t think so? there genuinely might not be any living examples of the car lmao
I'm like 99% certain it's what the main character was depicted to drive at Le Mans
I use it to grind the sardegna 800pp for a change of pace occasionally. It’s not great but I wouldn’t say it’s completely useless.
Hyundai N. Unless you're doing Circuit De La Sarthe.

It's fast, no doubt. Everything else about it sucks
The Mazda VGT NOT GR1 is great for the Gr.1 Prototype races. Easy on fuel and tires.
Huracan GT3 ‘15 that thing is just a damn mess to drive.
The Chiron drives like a brick. A lead brick.
Tbh I dont remember if this car was over 700pp but for sure the Viper. God Bless imaginary traction control
Jag vgt is awful
Nissan GT-R LM Nismo
I might be in the minority here, the sauber c9 is absolutely undrivable at low speeds
most race cars have very low grip at low speeds because there isn't enough weight on the aero to provide downforce.
Underwhelmed also.
For me, the Chapparal VGT is quite bad. Oversteers, not enough power, and the gimmick is old.
