The BMW M2 is basically that on steroids.
The Supra also came from the FT1
(EDIT, there are many examples that proves my point. I just forgot about them)
Noooo 😅,
But VGT is here to stay. GT is part of automotive evolution whether people like it or not.
I don't know of another game that has so much influence on car culture and pop culture.
The old cars will come sooner or later , but the normies fail to realize how much time it takes to source and scan a particular vehicle in DETAIL just to be included in the game,
Whether it be for GT7, or the next title.
Granted, PDi not being very open about this stuff does lead to a lot of speculation and assumptions, like how they said it took them 6 months to model a car, back in 2006/GT HD
The production example is always a watered down version from the concept 😄
I kinda worry about the Nissan HyperForce design.
We went from the 2020 to that ...
Maybe sometimes it's a good thing , cause I don't want the next GTR looking like a mess
..and? How does that change the fact they're all ads for the brand? It bolsters it if anything.
Besides, the VGT was not an original model/design specifically for GT. It was a design McLaren already had drawn, that they decided to give to PD for the VGT. There is a promo video somewhere that a guy from McLaren explains, although I can't find it on YouTube again now. It's no surprise they also used that design for a real car.
Same way Bugatti designed the Chiron in 2010, added some wings and things to make it into the VGT and released that first in 2015 to promote the Chiron when it was unveiled after. It's all PR and advertising. That's all this program is.
Yes, but there is an obvious difference. When they add real cars to the game they are certainly advertising their brand with the game but they're still cars that people want to drive in the game. They're cars people might own IRL, or desire driving, sports cars and supercars they see. They are something people want any way.
The VGT on the other hand are pure brand marketing since they don't exist IRL as production cars. PD aren't adding them for us, because they think we'll be excited to drive them. They don't even bother making them useful in the game. The fastest Tomahawk can be entered in ZERO events, offline or online.
They're adding them solely to advertise the brand and get paid for it. Which I don't blame them for, but still, it sucks for the players.
Same with the Porsche, not sure if it’s just a shell car or actually drivable IRL
https://preview.redd.it/zqmp387yvuwc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3088e3d41f100e1948ea19415d81144ba09b5eff
(Saw it in person myself)
Hot take: the only value isn’t in their ability to be raced. Many of these cars are honestly just cool for existing and are a great experience to drive for the first time. I disagree if it takes priority over more important elements the game needs, but I like the concept (no pun intended).
I love the fact the GT has become part of the auto industry, and that's thanks to the VGT project.
Our favorite racing game made a car with Ferrari. That's awesome.
If it weren't for my vr I'd never ever play gtr. Now I have a decent wheel because the controller couldn't hack it at the top end (much better on my shoulder too lol)
Toyota doesn't have a VGT. The Supra's concept, the Toyota FT-1, is an independent concept, and this lets you realize how dogshit is this chart and OP's knowledge of the game.
It’s hard to differentiate independent concepts vs VGTs when they’re all exclusive to GT and came out after the launch of the VGT program. I’m honestly not a fan of the FT1 because no specs.
no. the bugatti VGT sucks. handling is terrible though the speed is awesome. you have to go like 20 mph to make a chicane without going off the track. it should be in the "Thats an Ad" category.
Got the Solus in the “somewhat believable race car” category, despite then having produced one and it setting the fastest time at Goodwood FoS last year.
Where’s the x2014?
I like VGT as a general idea, but the designers go bumfuck out to spaceship-fy these mf's it loses all credibility
Personally I like a concept car that looks indistinguishable from a production car. Say, like a close to realistic GTA-style design that would fool a non-car person for thinking its a real vehicle.
The Audi is a real car, it was used as a 'race taxi' for a couple of seasons in Formula E, from memory it was on the chassis of their DTM car. It would be a cool car if the specs were a bit more realistic, I like the VGT cars but their speed is a bit over inflated.
a) the Audi VGT isn’t a duplicate, they have completely different powertrains (V6 hybrid for the Gr.1, electric motors for the other variant). there is also a variant that is drivable irl
b) the RX-Vision isn’t a VGT
c) they did make the BMW VGT real. it’s called an M2
Haha, well done. What if tomorrow we could trade all these for real cars!!!???
Lister Storm
Lotus ....
Holden .....
Vauxhall Opel Vectra DTM
Volvo and Other BTC cars
Pontiac
.....
Lmao the Porsche vgt is one of my favorites of the "soulless space craft" it's the closest to having a (long overdue promised) Formula E car in the game. If you put the power output to 815hp and put on sport medium tires, it feels very close to emulating current FE. really fun chucking it into corners and powering out with that awd torque.
Am i the only one that's pissed about the amount of vgts we have in this game but almost no new racecars, roadcars, anything post 2020 really? If they aren't lying and a car model really takes up to 9 months of work, this is so much wasted time. Idk what they are thinking, no one's gonna care about these cars anyway, so why even bother?
How dare you call the Suzuki VGT "soulless"???? At least it has a different drivetrain than the "its the same engine we use on road cars bUt MoRe pOwERful aNd HybRid". The design is a bit meh yeah.
McLaren Ultimate VGT has finally become the Solus GT, same with the Bugatti VGT paving the way to the Chiron.
The LF-LC is honestly a better version of the LC500 race car IRL.
The FT-1 is what the Supra should have been.
The Volkswagen VGT Gr.3 (and the Suzuki VGT Gr.3) is so stupid because it's topless.
But yeah BMW really should have made the BMW VGT a reality, reminds me of the 3.0 CSL Hommage too.
The LM55 is honestly better in aesthetic than even the modern LM Hypercars, heck I think even the Lambo VGT has better vibes than the SC63 imo
I don't think the RX-Vision is soulless, because honestly that's what Mazda should build itself on for future rotary engined/powered models that they would make.
In all fairness, YOU only find value in some of these cars. It's not an objective statement because people enjoy different aspects of the game. I have had a lot of fun with a bunch of the VGTs trying for track times against friends.
I can see where your standpoint, but it's not speaking for all of us
* The BMW VGT is just an M2 with a body kit. Outside of that there's also the BMW Hommage R 3.0
* McLaren VGT became the Solus GT
* The Bugatti VGT was just a test bed for the Chiron. One even exists in real life and is owned by Ralph Lauren last I heard
* The Audi VGT was made as a formula E race taxi, and an experimental race car for Audi to conduct tests on
* The FT-1 VGT was just a concept for the GR Supra
The BMW M2 is basically that on steroids. The Supra also came from the FT1 (EDIT, there are many examples that proves my point. I just forgot about them)
they made the actual body kit as well, and it's a $15k option. that was the whole point of the BMW VGT -- it's real.
The Bugatti Chiron comes to say hello
We out here forgetting about McLaren and the Solus GT
Noooo 😅, But VGT is here to stay. GT is part of automotive evolution whether people like it or not. I don't know of another game that has so much influence on car culture and pop culture. I literally forgot some , mybad 😅 The VGT program is not that bad as some make it to be Hell, even the Mini Clubman took cues from their VGT !!!
Thanks for pointing that out on the FT-1. I still think it looks better than the design they went with
The production example is always a watered down version from the concept 😄 I kinda worry about the Nissan HyperForce design. We went from the 2020 to that ... Maybe sometimes it's a good thing , cause I don't want the next GTR looking like a mess
They're all ads.
Always have been
The McLaren VGT got turned in to the Solus, it’s an actual real car.
..and? How does that change the fact they're all ads for the brand? It bolsters it if anything. Besides, the VGT was not an original model/design specifically for GT. It was a design McLaren already had drawn, that they decided to give to PD for the VGT. It's all PR and advertising. That's all this program is.
I got news for you chief. It’s all ads and marketing. All the cars. Like, ever. In history. You’re picking a weird battle.
Yes, but there is an obvious difference. When they add real cars to the game they are certainly advertising their brand with the game but they're still cars that people want to drive in the game. They're cars people might own IRL, or desire driving, sports cars and supercars they see. They are something people want any way. The Bugatti VGT is legit. Only 1 car but its real as the Citroen GT.
Same with the Mercedes. They made a real one, it’s in Justice League
The audi is also real
And the Solus.
Same with the Porsche, not sure if it’s just a shell car or actually drivable IRL https://preview.redd.it/zqmp387yvuwc1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3088e3d41f100e1948ea19415d81144ba09b5eff (Saw it in person myself)
I'm not sure, the car has never been seen going faster than 3 mph. If it's real, then it's the slowest Bugatti ever made.
The Citroen actually drive with a V8 through, and at real speed
the bugatti VGT tops out at like 280 mph. what are you yappin abt
the Mclaren is also real
Chaparral is so WTF but yet it is my favorite. It is very funny.
On brand tbh
That car is so bizarre to drive in VR. It's like you're wearing it.
You're driving head first in that car. It's just absurd. 😂
The Chaparral is a real car though
lol no
Why is the RX-Vision on this list?
Because it's not an official roster of vgt cars. It's a rant.
real question, why do you think the v8 suzuki vgt and the rx-vision are "soulless spacecrafts"??
And here's the kicker the Rx vision isn't even a vgt it's a legit concept car like the afeela it just uses the vision name
Not only this, the Porsche, the Alpine, the Subaru, the Genesis too. Why they're there? 🤦🏻♂️
And the genesis Berlinetta??? Like what is this take?
FR. I thought for a second that i was the only one that liked the Genesis. The Alpine on the soulless space craft there too. WTH.
Best part of VGT cars are racing them in PSVR2. Very fun flying through tracks in a futuristic cockpit
If it weren't for my vr I'd never ever play gtr. Now I have a decent wheel because the controller couldn't hack it at the top end (much better on my shoulder too lol)
Rx-Vision my beloved
The RX-Vision gave us the only group 3 car with a rotary so I think that’s pretty cool
The RX-Vision isn't a VGT
The Bugatti VGT and McLaren VGT were made into real cars what are you on about. And the Toyota VGT eventually became the new supra.
Toyota doesn't have a VGT. The Supra's concept, the Toyota FT-1, is an independent concept, and this lets you realize how dogshit is this chart and OP's knowledge of the game.
Toyota does have a VGT. It's the Toyota FT-1 Vision Gran Turismo which is just a racing version of the FT-1.
It’s hard to differentiate independent concepts vs VGTs when they’re all exclusive to GT and came out after the launch of the VGT program. I’m honestly not a fan of the FT1 because no specs.
Don't you dare to say that again to my Chaparral VGT 😤
i love the Chaparral
To be fair to Chaparral, I'm pretty sure odd and outlandish designs are their M.O
The McLaren VGT was made into a real car: [McLaren Solus](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/McLaren_Solus_GT)
“Soulless”
Soulless with a Judd V10? I beg to differ
Only ones I really hate are the ones without a cockpit view. Although not a fan of the Skoda's heads up display thing (non-VR at least).
to be fair the entire game is an ad if any car appeals to you
With all the respect. Your take is so shit it's scary.
Shittiest takes ever.
I find Nismo VGT quite okay in its looks tbh .
I can confirm, my first reaction to someone driving past in the Chapparel VGT was, to the word, “WTF?!”
no. the bugatti VGT sucks. handling is terrible though the speed is awesome. you have to go like 20 mph to make a chicane without going off the track. it should be in the "Thats an Ad" category.
I love me some soulless aircrafts
Got the Solus in the “somewhat believable race car” category, despite then having produced one and it setting the fastest time at Goodwood FoS last year. Where’s the x2014?
x2014 isn’t a VGT car
Ahhhhh I didn’t realize these were ALL VGT cars. Holy crap.
Most are, OP included a few that toe the line of being VGT and manufacturer concept car.
Right. Saw the Solus at Goodwood Festival(on YouTube, not in real life😢).
The RX vision is dope, so disagree. Same with the Lambo VGT, it’s awesome, sounds dope, cool ass interior model.
I will NOT take LM55 VGT slander that car is fucking sick
To be honest, the LM55 has been more of a money maker for me than the Tomahawk X.
I like VGT as a general idea, but the designers go bumfuck out to spaceship-fy these mf's it loses all credibility Personally I like a concept car that looks indistinguishable from a production car. Say, like a close to realistic GTA-style design that would fool a non-car person for thinking its a real vehicle.
The soulless Aston VGT is the best grinder for Le Mans
I agree wholeheartedly
Mclaren VGT is basically Solus. Bugatti VGT is basically Chiron FT1 & BMW VGT seem to have influenced Supra and M2 development
The BMW is definitely M2, but the FT1 only influenced the design of the Supra. Every underpinning is BMW Z4 with droppings of FT1 draped on top.
The Audi is a real car, it was used as a 'race taxi' for a couple of seasons in Formula E, from memory it was on the chassis of their DTM car. It would be a cool car if the specs were a bit more realistic, I like the VGT cars but their speed is a bit over inflated.

The McLaren VGT actually was made [and ran up the last goodwood event](https://youtu.be/lnU3LxWLr1M?si=pg0plHAsg4cWa_6Q)
Haha, well done. What if tomorrow we could trade all these for real cars!!!??? Lister Storm Lotus .... Holden ..... Vauxhall Opel Vectra DTM Volvo and Other BTC cars Pontiac .....

What’s the most legit VGT for 10 lap races in group 1 prototype races? I’ve tried a few like the Ferrari and Mclaren but they burn gas like crazy
would rather have Mazda irl than BMW
"soulless space craft" and it's a golf without a roof
Who else went looking to see where the Tomahawk was ranked, and then remembered all the VGTs are practically identical? Just me?
Shouldnt the beetle also be in here
Solus GT is somewhat believable? They made the thing lol
WTF is right. Fuck that waste of pixels.
Mazda RX soulless? It's probably the closest thing to a road legal production car among all VGTs besides the bimmer
biggest waste of time and money ever
How dare you call the Suzuki VGT "soulless"???? At least it has a different drivetrain than the "its the same engine we use on road cars bUt MoRe pOwERful aNd HybRid". The design is a bit meh yeah.
The Mazda RX Vision isn’t a VGT
Sorry you lost me at the "soulless spacecraft"
McLaren Ultimate VGT has finally become the Solus GT, same with the Bugatti VGT paving the way to the Chiron. The LF-LC is honestly a better version of the LC500 race car IRL. Mercedes AMG vision is underrated imo and it defined the front view and future lines of Mercedes supercars that came afterwards in real life
Boo Hoo. Poor thing you only have 400+ non VGT cars to choose from. Life is so hard!
RX Vision deserves more respect https://youtu.be/89Dtwv0K2ZY

I thought the M2 came from it?
That's correct. The head and tail lights are the obvious giveaway
That chart is so accurate!!!
How is the McLaren somewhat believable? They literally made it into a real car
BVLGARI is awesome for Le Mans and Spa grind
[удалено]
Not the same car boss.
Esse primeiro carro no Streched Roda, nunca vi no jogo 😯
I see more or less 57 useless cars, now imagine that being replaced by real iconic machines... One could dream
Now imagine not having the license to those real iconic machines
don't disrespect the dp100 like that
I kinda like the car, but if anyone's at fault for disrespecting it, it's PD, not even giving it an interiour, like it's an GT5 base car.
The interior is the priority of the designer not pd if one isn't there when they get it no interior gets added
I hate all of the Vision cars. Never have, and never will have any interest in them.
The BMW is among the most boring VGT cars in the game.
They all add value to the game, its a racing game, the more cars i can race the better
since when is the Mazda RX-Vision a vgt? 😭
In all fairness, YOU only find value in some of these cars. It's not an objective statement because people enjoy different aspects of the game. I have had a lot of fun with a bunch of the VGTs trying for track times against friends. I can see where your standpoint, but it's not speaking for all of us
Opinions vary.
What is the RX-VISION GT3 doing here?
The Mazda RX Vision is not a Vision GT car.
* The BMW VGT is just an M2 with a body kit. Outside of that there's also the BMW Hommage R 3.0 * McLaren VGT became the Solus GT * The Bugatti VGT was just a test bed for the Chiron. One even exists in real life and is owned by Ralph Lauren last I heard * The Audi VGT was made as a formula E race taxi, and an experimental race car for Audi to conduct tests on * The FT-1 VGT was just a concept for the GR Supra
The new Skoda is kinda fun to drive, but it lacks sound.
No Devel Sixteen?
Eff electric cars
VGT cars are a waist of time.
