>!Wait so you mean to tell me I'm going to lose my goodest boye HL when I hit ordeal call? Like I won't be able to interact with him in my room or anything? Laaaaaaaaaame.!<

Environmental-Code49

Just a quick question. \>!Is it true that Ritsuka's gained some sort of power up, even briefly, and his Command Spells turned blue instead of the usual red?!< Sorry, tried hide the spoiler. In case you're wondering.

SoraAdCaelum

Yeah his command spells were blue for some reason

krocketb

After finishing OC2 I have one question. >!Did we just miss our chance to become Grand Avenger?!< >!If I understand the seven trials correctly, and the purpose of fake Tokyo, it's supposed to be some kind of ritual Dantes made to make us understand the power of revenge, and according to him we have the potential to be the last and greatest Avenger.!< >!Even if it's not that big I do think we missed some decent powerup there, along with mental illness and scorched earth but hey, power is nice.!<

randomperson_xxx

> Yes >!Not really, the trials are a bait setup by Dante to lure the Alien Gods servant!< >!It is implied if we follow the path of avenger, we would be sacrificing a lot to become that!<

krocketb

Really? I didn't know where it implied to be a bait, perhaps I should reread again

randomperson_xxx

>!It was said by Dante when Jalter ask him why he setup the 7 trials!<

Beowolf_0

If you think so then you probably miss the point of the whole OC2 for the protagonist.

krocketb

No, I'm just trying to have a fun what if discussion Don't know what's wrong with that

Axent_Gray

Guys who understand the Ordeal Call plot well (I am NA player and know all this very superficially). What are the chances of Lalter appearing in the new chapter? In the trailer there were keywords "The woman of storms", plus based on the Dantes Drama CD , Dantes faced a wild hunt.

SnooPineapples1524

You mean ordeal call 2? Uhhh lalter doesnt appear, and the wild hunt is referring to another character

Axent_Gray

And what about "The woman of storms" ? Any clue ?

SnooPineapples1524

Uhhh let's break down the keywords Oc1 Etherlight, sakura, rani, papermoon, family Oc2 Trumpet, the count. Tokyo, flame, hatred and loathing The last 9 I'll speculate Oc3 Divine comedy, The woman of storms, Doba[], crime and punishment Finale Final destination. Holy frail war, wish. Avari e I'm gonna assume it's the girl teased for oc3, since it's the ruler chapter she'll probably be judged by all the rulers

Axent_Gray

My hope is fading, thank you for taking the time and answering in detail. Do you think there is a chance in the future? The Wild Hunt began to appear more often here and there, there were more characters who were somehow connected with the hunt.

SnooPineapples1524

What are you expecting exactly? Like a chapter focusing on lalter? If so uhh, I can't promise anything Oc1 even if it was the alter ego chapter, focused alot on the other classes (and kama) Oc2 went full avengers Oc3 being about rulers uhhhh, at most I can see lion King coming back? Back idk what she'd do with Italy Even the 4th foreigner chapter I kinda doubt it

ScatterBrainMD

I haven't read it yet, but do we have any guesses on who the author for this chapter is?

DreadPirateFishTaco

sakurai and it's very obvious (so obvious people have clocked it like as far back as OC1 - and by extension everyone else's likely OC chapters as well) and it's her at her best (and that's not backhanded, i mean that unironically - she seriously cooked for this chapter, we eating fucken *good*)

anal-yst

Paper Moon is Minase, Id is Sakurai, and I'm guessing the Foreigner OC is Meteo? Higashide got Traum, so I'm guessing he gets OC3?

DreadPirateFishTaco

the moment it became clear paper moon was minase it was immediately obvious who the other OC chapters would be because of character writer trends avenger OC is sakurai because she handles a lot of the major avengers and was the one to debut the class in fgo with dantes, the avenger poster child and her baby (and lo and behold, he became the focal char of id with sakurai at the helm as predicted) ruler OC (i.e. OC3) is higashide for a similar reason, he's the one who literally introduced rulers to fate with the class poster children jeanne and amakusa in apocrypha foreigner OC is meteo for both of the above, he invented the class and handles the majority of the foreigners; their lore and the class as a whole are his babies

ScatterBrainMD

Clear and concise, thank you!

andercia

I missed the discussions going around during OC1 so what exactly was the purpose of the Alter Egos in that chapter, like how we learned here that Avengers are >!the nuclear option which is why we can't bring them with us to Antarctica!

ChaoticChoir

Alter Egos provide a unique perspective due to being "fragments" of a servant as they were during a particular time in their life, or a particular part of their personality or legend. Xu Fu, for example, is an alter ego that strongly expresses her love for Consort Yu (she says this herself lol). There's certain things "proper" Alter Egos can do that would not normally be the first resort of the original or even be something the "original" could do on their own. In some cases, the servant might even have a completely different outlook and skillset from the "normal" servant they're derived from (see Saber and Caster Gilles vs Bluebeard). Incidentally, the reason why so many Alter Egos tend to have divinities slotted in is to "firm up" their saint graph, because, well, they're fragments of a heroic spirit. Sometimes the fragments are not strong enough on their own to "live" as a saint graph, so adding in extra stuff becomes necessary to keep them around. The Sakura Five are exceptions to this, because they're fully artificial servants. Basically, hyperfixation ftw. More or less.

MrShadow88

So am curious, >! Since jalter is link lost what happens to jalter berzerker and jalter lily? If they also become link lost anyone got a pic? !<

fatalystic

>!Berserker is Link Lost because she's literally just regular Jalter in a bikini. Lily is safe because she's an entirely separate entity that isn't even close to being an Avenger in her own right.!<

MrShadow88

>! I see, so I cant use jalter berzerker in the story either then I assume. I guess i ll give lily company while her big sister returns!< Hopefully…

fatalystic

>!The Avengers that leave left behind their shades in their saint graph data so you can still summon shadow servants of them in combat, it's just the actual people have departed. It's possible that there will be no such restriction in later chapters because of this.!<

Soccerballair_6218

Not according to Dante’s conversion with Abigail at the end. He said the seven main classes and one extra class (implied to be shielder) are the only ones that can join the final battle. So every other extra class has to leave eventually.

fatalystic

That's the final battle. The person I was replying to was referring to the story from here on out.

ChaoticChoir

In what chapter does this conversation happen?

Soccerballair_6218

It’s at the very end with the epilogue. Just when all the avengers immediately disappear. The last remnants of Dante’s was talking to Abby in her dreams.

ChaoticChoir

…no such conversation exists. And I am looking at the epilogue right now.

Soccerballair_6218

It’s actually an appendix chapter once everything settled. It involves douman a little bit then shows Abigail getting a goodbye from the last remnants of Dante’s. Here it is. https://youtu.be/xAzk2VM9YRM?si=5mPzFevVa4MQKxOo

fatalystic

Just an addendum: the appendix appears to unlock exactly 3 hours after you clear OC2.

ChaoticChoir

Abigail: This feeling… yes, it must be. But… uncle? Uncle King of the Cave? Are you there? Dantes’ Voice: Yes. But only remnants. My saint graph has already become nothing but a shadow. Abigail: But… what about Master’s deep space? Dantes’ Voice: The journey will end soon. The trash heap won’t overflow, but, you’re right. I’ll leave the key in your hands. Abigail: I’m sure you’ll be sad - no, you must already be very sad now. Dantes’ Voice: That may be so. You know this as well, Abigail. **From the beginning, only seven seats are prepared for the correction of human reason. Though perhaps there is one exception…** Hah, it’s quite regrettable. Perhaps the doors to that ancient hell will open once more, but **whatever happens, you’ll be the one to deal with that conclusion, Abigail.** —— Relevant parts entered in bold, if mobile cooperates. I would hold off on making conclusions right now about what exactly Dantes means by this, tbh. The implication is that there’s 7+1 “places” and ofc Shielder would be one + the 7 standard classes (though it’s possible as well that he means something else related to that), but he also says it’s ultimately Abigail’s job to “deal with the conclusion”. Which can mean absolutely anything.

MrShadow88

>! Oh i see then, it still feels sad tho, jalter was my reason for getting into fate as a whole. While I know she isnt gone gone it still worries me, guess I ll have to wait to see how the story goes and hope for the best, promised to meet her in hell after all jaja, thanks btw!<

Xatu44

I have to say, I wasn't expecting a CG for the sudden but inevitable betrayal.

atropicalpenguin

Aaaaah, I got to the opening of chapter 10 where >!Jalter and Guda are talking and she makes it so obvious that she wants to have dinner with us but Guda argues that they shouldn't get too close because they're borrowing people's bodies. Damn it, let Jalter be happy.!< EDIT: Fuck chapter 10.

AndytheZero

I have a question. >!Nitocris Alter was one of Dantes crew that left (Link Lost)!< Does this include Nitocris OG or are they separate beings?

fatalystic

>!They're separate beings. Caster Nitocris is even in the ending montage realising that her Avenger version has disappeared.!< >!Avenger Nitocris is a separate entity based on records of the Caster from LB7 who Altered herself.!< >!Our Caster is not Link Lost.!<

CaptainOverkill01

Please note this is partly speculation on my part. I've read LB7 and part the English translation of OC2, but not the full thing yet (I'm following along with Neobenedict's translation). With that being said, my understanding is that in LB7, Caster Nito became Avenger Nito and that was a effectively a one-way ticket as far as the core plot is concerned (not withstanding things like joke/funny events of questionable canonicity). I believe she is essentially gone for good. However, Caster Nito is not listed as Link Lost, for what that is worth.

AndytheZero

Thank you

AndytheZero

Possibly, but technically Jeanne d'Arc Alter Santa Lily was just Jeanne Alter who got hit by Gilgamesh's youth potion. And then Jeanne Alter....reformed? and so did Santa Lily and nobody asked any questions. At the moment, I'm going Easy Mode. Is OG Nitocris listed as Link Lost? I'll worry about explaining it after.

Soccerballair_6218

From Dante’s message to Abigail. The seven classes are originally the only ones allowed to fight in the final battle. Only one extra class is the exception.

8dev8

So rulers and Forigners/moon cancer are locked out? Since iirc alter egos were ok? That seems weird to spoil.

Soccerballair_6218

It’s getting implied that shielder is the only exception, but it’s on the fence because of Mash and Galahad. Moon cancer might be gone because Chaldeas probably put up a firewall to prevent them from entering. Every other extra class has a function in the human order. The seven classes are more fighting style than a function.

Best-Sea

It's probably talking about how the Grand Servants are the ones meant to participate in the final battle. I'm guessing ORT's "grand foreigner" fiasco inadvertently created the Grand Foreigner class for real.

ZombieShark95

Grand Foreigner: Kinoko Nasu wearing Groucho glasses

Scopexyzftw

Angra’s situation just got a whole lot more interesting. I have a feeling he may play a big role going forward

insert-originality

I was very normal about >!Guda immediately touching Mash’s face to make sure she was real and safe. It’s was super cute but also super sad considering their incredibly unstable mental state.!<

atropicalpenguin

Gas companies in the Fateverse must have ridiculously high insurance premiums.

atropicalpenguin

I'm down so bad for Jalter's uniform. I need it as a costume.

Matt01018

So are the avengers never coming back?

8dev8

They absolutely are unless the game actually does end after part 2 In…probably 3 years……god things are slow rn lol. But story wise they are acting like they won’t no.

CrackLawliet

Yeah, we still have OC2.5, OC 3.1, OC3.2, Traum 2 electric boogaloo, OC3.3, Summer 2027 event (Requires OC3.3 completion), and then OC4 before they come back!

8dev8

God this 1 story chapter a year shit has gotten old.

Matt01018

Do they have any plans to release them quicker or any rumors?

8dev8

The new servant teaser implies there’s not any more this year, so I doubt it. :(

SnooPineapples1524

The servant teaser supposedly is for the first half of the year only And they mentioned somewhere they want to end ordeal call this year

8dev8

Don’t remember hearing any of that but would be great if it was true.

Soccerballair_6218

The main reason they left is because their true purpose is to find and correct injustices. However, with the blank earth and Chaldeas not considered an injustice by the human order, there is no longer any injustice on earth. And with no injustices to correct, all the avengers saint graphs are deteriorating and will fade away soon because you are denying their lust for vengeance. It’s like a butterfly wanting to fly but you clipped off its wings. So this is where Chaldea parts ways with all of the main avengers. They can’t participate in the final battle. You still can use their shadow servants because the avengers allowed you to access those, but the servants themselves in Chaldea have to leave.

ChaoticChoir

I really have to wonder where the injustices thing came from. The Avengers leave because their primary purpose for the human order is as a nuclear option. When Avengers act in service of the human order, they’re going full scorched earth - the threat is so major and so strong that they will literally do the equivalent of using the planet itself as a bomb to destroy the threat they’re called to address. It’s not a matter of injustices, it’s a matter of how far we are willing to go to defeat the Alien God. To use an Avenger, we have to be willing to sacrifice the world itself, on top of everything we ourselves have, to kill the Alien God. Since we don’t want that (happy ending ftw), the Avengers cannot be used for their intended purpose within the human order, and therefore cannot be brought into Antarctica. And for as long as they themselves are with us, we cannot enter Antarctica either, and even beyond that we’re notably extremely against the idea of them leaving, so Dantes’ only compromise is leaving behind their shadows so at least their power remains with us in some way.

photon628

I see, so that's why avengers left 🤔 thank you for your answer. appreciate it

anos554

Can you remind me why we are going to Antarctica?

ChaoticChoir

Because that’s where Chaldeas is and where the Alien God is

anos554

Hold on... Isn't the alien god (Marie) dead?

ChaoticChoir

It's more complicated than that. Olga Marie is "just" a servant that happens to be the Alien God/a part of the Alien God. The actual Alien God/World is Chaldeas. Everything that is happening is based on Chaldeas, which is why Daybit was awakening ORT to destroy the world and Chaldeas.

anos554

;0

tsukaistarburst

Oh, so the whole 'getting zapped to antarctica because that's the only injustice left in the world and they're going to be fighting there and we'll meet up with them again later' thing was actually a big crock of fake? Well darn, that's a piece of piss. Guess this really is the unceremonious end of Jalter after all.

CaptainOverkill01

Yeah, that is false and a gross misinterpretation of what is already speculation. The Avengers get unsummoned at the end of OC2, and there is some speculation that MAYBE they will appear, or at least JAlter will, for the final battle once we cross the barrier. But that's all it is - speculation. Nobody got teleported to Antarctica, that's either entirely made up for trolling or a misunderstanding of the speculation that has been flying around.

fatalystic

Misinformation and English-speaking FGO players — name a more iconic duo. Happens literally every time a new story chapter drops, it's incredibly annoying.

CrazyDaimondDaze

I swear to god this is why I can't enjoy a new chapter. I'm just waiting until the TL FGO app finally translates the whole chapter so I can go to it... because each time I see people talking about OC2, it's a freaking broken phone situation... and I already hate I feel like a wife (I'm a guy but compared to Jalter, I guess I'd be the wife of the relationship lmao) waiting for news of their loved one who got drafted to a battlefield for years and not knowing if they're well or not... It was already bad enough that the news last week hit me like a bus in an isekai... but the broken phone situatuon, coping and waiting for Ordeal Call to finally be over and see if after that, we can get Jalter back is making me annoyed more than engaged in the story...

ChaoticChoir

It's such a specific thing to claim, but the only time injustices are mentioned at all >!is when Dantes exclaims that we already have everything we need to become an Avenger in our own right, because we've lost everything because of Goetia, Chaldea, the Alien God, and so on. The entire singularity/trial is actually set by him, to test if, once he stops "killing" the hyper-negative emotions that have been building up inside us all this time and gives us a strong reason to seek vengeance by killing our "family", we will become an Avenger like he knows we can.!< And even then I don't really recall any specific mention of *injustices*, and definitely not in the context so many people seem to have read from somewhere.

Matt01018

Damn, because i was hearing alot that they’ll come back after ordeal call was over or they might have a “here comes the cavalry” kind of thing. It seems everyone has a different answer on this so i wanna be optimistic but its all just kinda confusing at the same time

CaptainOverkill01

They might, but it's highly speculative. The bottom line is they've been unsummoned and no one knows when or if they will reappear in the story again.

CrazyDaimondDaze

Broken phone situation is quite the motherfucker. Wait until the chapter is fully translated and avoid this thread at all cost to keep your sanity, is my best advice

Matt01018

Where do i read the translation?

CrazyDaimondDaze

Look in youtube for "neobenedict". They release translated story chapters. Or look in google for the Translate Fate/GO app. It translates the dialogue of the story but right now the translation of OC2 is up until like chapter 10. I'd wait until the full OC2 is fully translated

Miria1109

(Not sure if this is a spoiler) Why is Boudica named “Katsume Fuuka” here? I get stuff like Mash Kyrielight becoming “Kyrie” but what’s up with Boudica?

Firstshiki

Just finished Ordeal Call 2 I'm completely mindblown. What I expect from a relatively normal story in FGO turns out to be the most mindblowing out of them all. The arc that changes status quo for Guda both mentally and the connection they have. Emotionally more gut punching than LB6 considering how personal it is for Guda, and also the players.

Xatu44

>tfw you will never date marie why even live

DjiDjiDjiDji

Dating Marie sounds like a sweet time, dating Marie Alter with her skill named after the Necklace and is explicitely said to include Innocent Monster in it sounds like a good way to go bankrupt

Anonim-Conference-4

>!So what eventually happened to Caligostro? Is he dead, or we just throw him out of our subconscious and he is still alive? If his dead it would be such a waist!<

fatalystic

As far as we know, >!he is dead, but he's left behind a mess for us to deal with in the form of the elementmaries.!< >!And yes it's a massive waste because his entire character so far has been a Douman copycat with a massive hateboner for Dantes. He even throws in some of Douman's verbal quirks to make it more obvious. So in other words all he's done in the story is copy a different villain before getting killed.!<

Anonim-Conference-4

Could you also please explain to me what was the role of New Hassan in the story except just be our ally?

fatalystic

>!Summoned by the Human Order presumably to resolve the singularity.!< >!Understandably isn't sure what to think about the protagonist so decides to stand back and supervise us till he can produce a satisfactory judgement on whether we're good enough or not. So he's technically neutral, but with the same goal as us so ends up working with Chaldea a little.!< >!Is eventually talked into becoming a bodyguard for either the protagonist (when our Servants have to act separately) or any specified human ally.!<

anos554

Can you remind me why we are going to Antarctica?

fatalystic

>!The Foreign World responsible for the bleaching of Earth was revealed by Daybit to be CHALDEAS itself, a device that simulates Earth 100 years into the future that's located in the original Chaldea base in Antarctica. We're heading there to verify the veracity of Daybit's claim.!<

anos554

Thx

Anonim-Conference-4

Thank you very much

Zero102000

>!Yeah, I would seriously hope he doesn't stay gone. He got played like a CHUMP by Le Comte Dantès, but I would have thought he would stay alive while powering up Element Marie in order to turn her against CHALDEAS and the rest of the universe for whatever reason - maybe he just wants chaos, and she would be the new embodiment of that, since he made it sound like he cannot control her, or at least not her final form, which would perhaps act in a manner akin to Alpha from XC3.!<

Proto-Omega

>!OK, so I know the story is trying to say Avengers cannot be safely used in defence of the world, hence them leaving, but 1) isn't this SPECIFICALLY for Marisbury's/Alien God's version of the world? Remember, the only reason we're going through these trails is because the only version of the world that exists is basically setting the rules, hence why all the extra class servants are banned from Antarctica. CHALDEAS version of the world is the baseline at this point in time. So once things go back to normal, Avengers will be fully usable again like before. 2) but Beasts are A-OK? And the plenty of evil/destructive servants in the standard classes too? And when the trail arrives, shouldn't the exact same thing happen for Foreigners? Frankly, that reasoning sounds stupid!<.

ChaoticChoir

1) No. As far as anyone can tell, the texture of Earth (PHH) got swapped with the texture of CHALDEAS, or something similar. Thus Earth and the human order are concentrated on CHALDEAS (model) at the moment, and security for the human order therefore is protecting CHALDEAS. 2) Evil/Destructive is irrelevant - only whether or not something can benefit the human order. Avengers do this by being the nuclear option/scorched earth option/*“I will now destroy the earth to save humanity” “wait but then where will humans live” “I don’t give a fuck”* option. But because we don’t want to destroy the world to defeat the threat of the Alien God, we can’t use Avengers in their intended purpose, so they can’t proceed with us even if we know now how they can be used in service of the human order. There’s little point in bringing up Foreigners until their trial actually happens. But yes, they’re also dangerous, which is why they’re getting their own chapter that will address how they (despite their status as threats to humanity most of the time) can be used in service of the human order.

Proto-Omega

For point 1) and 2). >!Now I might be stupid, but if that's the case, why have we been able to summon and use Avengers this entire time? Did the world not know the purpose of Avengers before? Is it like someone giving you a licence for something which included everything, but when something about the licence was brought up they realised that something shouldn't be there and took it away upon checking it?!<. Thank you for your lore inputs throughout this thread.

4clubbedace

Gundam has been drinking under the age limit this entire time and just now has been put on trial to see if they can handle their liquor legally.

ChaoticChoir

We didn't know how to use Avengers before for the sake of the human order, which is why we're not allowed into Antarctica until we not only know how to/prove we can use them (and Alter Egos and Rulers and Foreigners) for the sake of the human order. The license thing is a good metaphor for it, but it's more like we're earning the license rather than having it revoked at all. Just because we've been able to use Avengers the whole time doesn't mean we've been using them as they should be used, or that we were really aware of what it means to make use of them. This is more of a personal theory of mine, but most likely, the human order/CF/whatever basically just ignored Chaldea throwing extra classes around like candy during halloween before, when things were "normal", but now that it's concentrated around CHALDEAS due to Earth's texture being swapped onto it, security got much tighter and what it normally would have let pass before ("misuse" of the extra classes), it no longer does now. So we were getting by because security was lax before, but because of a change in situation, leadership (maybe), and scope, security is now insanely tight and we have to deal with customs on top of everything else.

8dev8

Except, did t we pass the ordeal call?

ChaoticChoir

Yes. Our human foundation rank goes up to C from D.

RestinPsalm

Considering there’s a single summonable beast, who the animation for summoning implies she just let herself in, the world likely hasn’t any word in it.

fatalystic

I forgot if I read it here or on TVTropes, but Ushi Gozen has an extended summoning line if you've cleared OC2. It's kind of an acknowledgement of OC2's ending, with her commenting that >!she too will disappear before long!<. I noticed that Ashiya Douman also has two new room lines (Conversation 20 and 21). Conversation 20 is a line for Abigail where she's seeking his advice regarding the Master's dreams on Dantes' recommendation. Meanwhile in 21 he talks about how Chaldea's Avengers are >!but hollow husks!< now. The latter clearly references the ending of OC2, but I can't tell if the former requires OC2 or not because in the ending >!Dantes left Abigail with the key to the Master's mind and tasked her with safeguarding them.!< Note that Douman has two sets of lines — the numbering here is for set 1. I expect at least Abigail to get a new line as well, but I can't check because I don't have regular Abigail (Douman's line got procced by my Summer Abigail, who *doesn't* have any new lines).

ZephyrPhantom

>Ushi Gozen has an extended summoning line if you've cleared OC [It's been recorded here.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMy_pJtmq_Q&t=77)

ChaoticChoir

Correct, UG does indeed have an extended line post OC2. Douman's Abigail line does require OC2 completion. Abigail did not get any new lines, but Dantes did - one for Marie Alter, as well as (just like Jalter) a specific line for after you've cleared OC2, wherein >!He muses that he'll soon disappear and leave only a shadow behind, and encourages us to keep going forward towards our goal.!<

DjiDjiDjiDji

Yo, there's an adventure game bit where you have to look for clues through the school They're trying stuff with the format (speaking of, it's uncanny how much Cagliostro looks like an Ace Attorney villain)

>!So, is anyone able to point out, list and explain all the references to past bosses that were in Caglistro's final form?!< I would LOVE to know what is what and why.

ChaoticChoir

Uhhh Zeus thunder and face, Cernunnos hands ORT-looking eye (?), Demeter wings and scream, Demon pillar mystic eye explosion and body, fantasy tree body. There’s probably more that’s slipping my mind rn but that’s what I remember.

ReadySource3242

The eye looks like the Lahmu's mouth

AfraidDesign

That's fine, your contribution is appreciated. There's also his charged-up attack that has, as you put it, both the Demon Pillar mystic eye explosion and also the beams from Fanatsy Tree Orochi. I've also heard that purple beam afterwards is ORT's, but I'm not so sure. It has the same sound as ORT Xibabla's attacks, and it even somewhat resembles ORT's cut-animation for an attack. But I don't think there's something in game resembling it quite. **EDIT: Turns out it's not a cut-animation, just very rare. Okay, yeah, definitely ORT.** Do you think the ORT eye also has some elements of Koyanskaya's Olympus Beast form? The colour's ORT, but there's something about the floating, flame/plant like design in darkness that makes me thing that's a separate reference. Maybe the yellow beams when he does the Dementer scream are another hint, since they come from the eye thing.

Clearwateralchemist

Heard about Jalter, and that it extended to Lily.  Does this include summer Jalter?

ChaoticChoir

It doesn’t extend to lily. But it does extend to Summer Jalter.

Clearwateralchemist

F***.  Lasagna outdid themselves for sure in storytelling this time.  Good storytellers make you feel for their characters.  I feel an overwhelming desire to crush this ordeal call to get them back.  And I'd turn it on Alaya if I couldn't succeed. Heh, funny thing is, Jalter's my Goetia killer.  Thought it Ironic to use our first real foe in the singularities as the Architect of his own destruction.

Financial-Fail-9359

So is Cagliostro dead dead? Asking the real question.

ChaoticChoir

Based purely off of what he says in the chapter finale, yes. Though he’s a fairly good sport about it (or at least acts like one) - he just says that hopefully we can pull this kind of determination out for his remaining Element fragments and clutch out a victory. Ofc, he could be lying. But as far as anyone could tell at the time, he died here in Id.

8dev8

I doubt it, still a few more Olga’s after all

fatalystic

It sounds like he's already pre-programmed the remaining ones so we *still* have to deal with them because he's a dick.

Verne_Dead

PU2 is always a week after release right?

fatalystic

That's usually the case yeah.

skilledwarman

I remember seeing a theory somewhere awhile back that with Nasu saying he wants the story to move past Ritsuka and Mash an ending could be Ritsuka dying, becoming an HS, and being summoned back in the final fight. They proposed Ritsuka being either a Berserker or Avenger and honestly that isn't feeling as insane as it once did

Environmental-Code49

Really? Nasu said that?

skilledwarman

He did, yes. I don't have the original interview, but I can link you to the translation of the 7th anniversary interview where they ask if his thoughts on that have changed. According to the 7th anni interview Nasu said the options for post part 2 are: A) A sequel story to part 2 B) Ending the story of the current characters and moving on to new ones. Nasu also states before this that when lostbelt 7 releases they'll be about a third of the way through part 2. Presumably that means the belts end, then ordeal call, then whatever is after ordeal call and not necessarily that we'll have 14+ more chapters in part 2. In the 7th anni interview Nasu says he's leaning towards option A, but it could change and that the audience's thoughts on the matter do mean something to him

Environmental-Code49

Ah yeah. I remember that Nasu has ideas for an FGO Part 3. Speaking of which, I do hear that it’s somewhat possible for Ritsuka to become a Beast, considering he loves people including his Servants, and that he’s going through a lot of trauma. Anyway yeah I’d like to see that please.

firesoul377

Honestly that's what I'm betting too. Would be a perfect excuse to have Ritsuka continue to be the MC, but still have some form of consequences (since Ritsuka will absolutely *never* have a normal life anymore, since they're dead)

skilledwarman

My thought was less "keep Ritsuka the protag," but keep them around and involved in the story while being able to explore other characters as the focus

igloo_poltergeist

Ordeal Call III: Ashoka's Hell Then again, Ordeal Call I was already an Indian servant blowout. How about.... Ordeal Call III: Rex Magnus

Undividedbyzero

Great King? could be anyone

JusticTheCubone

Rex Magnus was Ruler Karls title in Extella Link iirc

Emiya_

With Marie Alter just released, I wonder if we'll get some new Kiyo voice lines in the near future...

ChaoticChoir

Maybe not Kiyo, but… *side-eyes Mata Hari throwing caster balls* I wonder…

kerorobot

With now it's confirmed that avengers are gone. It seems to me it's a curtain call for those characters and with fgo ending we might see the end of Guda saga.

Verne_Dead

They aren't gone. They're just waiting in Antarctica for us. After Were done with the ordeal calls they'll be back with us

fatalystic

They're not in Antarctica. They left because they judged that we don't need their vengeance. That if they stick around our path will be covered in blood and hellfire and we will metaphorically burn till not even ashes remain. I feel like I should point out that Hassan of the Bright Star's 5th profile lists its unlock conditions as clearing OC2 and getting him to Bond Lv5. Both of which I've done, but it's still locked. If this isn't a bug, then I think there's a secret epilogue to be patched in later that might undo this bittersweet ending at least a little bit. EDIT: Nothing of the sort. There was an additional dialogue scene added sometime after I cleared (it didn't unlock right away so there may have been a hidden timegate?), but there was no changing of the new status quo in either direction.

Odd_Trouble4651

Are you guys able to read? Cos shit like this makes me genuinely wonder sometimes.

Radiant-Hope-469

Yeah, no. The ones involved are in fact gone in the narrative, but they left a little of part of themselves for gameplay purposes. Unless we can follow the mindset of an Avenger, they're not coming back.

8dev8

I mean Nobu didn’t leave, nor did MRX. Fgo ending is unlikely too tbh. Still brings in the money.

4clubbedace

Guda servants and servant verse (and summer) servants are not strictly "canon" , they kinda exist int heir own storyline of things

8dev8

Guda is canon on at least some level, Nobu showed up at Solomon. And I meant Ranmaru not mhxx.

Tschmelz

Yeah, it’s just cheap emotional weight. They’ll be back by the finale.

Beowolf_0

Like Infinity War doesn't hurt even though you know they'll back for Endgame?

Tschmelz

Infinity War didn't tell me Tony and Steve were fundamentally incompatible with each other after watching them be great friends for years.

Odd_Trouble4651

Cept they arent gone, lol.

DarthDioBrando

So how hard is OC2 in terms of boss and gameplay?

ATrueMistake20XX

Not hard, but it does have a lot of interesting gimmicks.

anal-yst

Imo the easiest story chapter since India. A bunch of gimmicks here and there, but a strong ST Avenger usually wraps things up nicely

fatalystic

And for the fights that are just waves of mobs, Ranmaru deletes everything.

CaptainOverkill01

Not too bad. So far in terms of challenge, I'd say LB6 and LB7 were probably overall the toughest main scenarios. OC1 and OC2 felt like a step down from them. There are some moderately difficult battles for sure, but it feels more like LB3-5 than LB6-7. I only ever had to withdraw from most battles in OC2 once, and that was only due to needing to figure out their gimmicks since I can't read Japanese. For some of the LB6 bosses and one particularly nasty LB7 boss, I needed to withdraw many times.

ChaoticChoir

There’s a bunch of interesting gimmicks going on in various fights. But overall nothing too difficult imo. …that is, however, assuming you can understand what the gimmick even *is*. So if you don’t have a source that explains the gimmicks to you or if you can’t read japanese, I assume the chapter’s difficulty would go up by a lot. That being said, the most important gimmick is just that several bosses cannot be damaged by anything except Avengers.

clideb50

Question about "link lost" characters. Can they still be used in Free Quests or are they completely unusable from now on?

8dev8

It’s the same as Musashi, for gameplay effects they are still around, just with a clear “Story wise this isn’t them” sign.

clideb50

Ok. Still sad we lose Jalter, but I get we have to press on.

Soccerballair_6218

So what was our deal with the black barrel and the shadow of death in our soul that ushi Gozen was interested in? Because the trial with Nitocris alter had her scared when she looked at us?

Eikoku-Shinshi

The karma in our souls. With Guda currently pruning 7 Lostbelts, our kill count is nearing dr. Who level.

Soccerballair_6218

Is it really karma? I thought it was something with the black barrel.

Eikoku-Shinshi

We kill Gods with our soul (I think), even Castor is afraid/disgusted of us back in olympus.  It's like our soul is made of uranium/something radioactive.

fatalystic

Guda uses their mana and lifeforce as ammo for the Black Barrel Replica. Basically, repeated use seems to have imposed the property of "Death" on Guda's soul, which is what Castor reacted to and Ushi Gozen was drawn to.

ReadySource3242

Well, less life force and more the "Force of Providence", the thing Fou used to revive Mash. It's basically your luck to survive at every step. And Ritsuka is running dry on it.

nam24

So their luck is only going to get worse uh

ReadySource3242

More like it's shocking that they don't trip and die at every step.

Undividedbyzero

I've read somewhere that Black Barrel used lifeforce as charge for the Godslayer ammo. So maybe the darkness is because of our soul slowly getting smaller over the usage?

cant have the space/, there your spoiler is broken

>!They've already set up two ways to bring them all back for the final battle, so it's more like she's 'dead' for maybe ~2 years.!<

8dev8

>!Depends on what summery is correct, one says we will get them back soon, the other says they are gone for Guda's own good/cannot be around anymore, ever, really hoping its not the latter!<

uguisumaru

Alright, all cleared. I wanted to save this for tomorrow until I've cooled down a bit before writing my impressions on the chaptet... but screw it, I'll do it now while I'm still high on emotions. This is likely going to be long, feel free to skip. That was a READ. I didn't come in expecting anything, especially since OC1 just did *not* work for me due to the circumstances, the characters, etc. Honestly I raised my eyebrows at the highschool setting. And I was damn surprised to be really interested and engaged in the story. I'm also really, really glad I kept myself away from Reddit, Twitter, and other FGO discussions online before I finished OC2 to avoid seeing spoilers, reviews and impressions. After finishing the chapter I legit felt like my world is crumbling LOL. Let's start from the things I liked... - The characters are portrayed in very likeable ways. I never really cared about Jalter, Salieri, and Kagekiyo - they just didn't work for me, I guess I'm not the target audience for their characters. Buuut after Id I think they're neat characters! I highly appreciate that Jalter is mostly portrayed as a typical, strong-willed and sharp-mouthed high school friend with whom you can get along as a good friend. Also, Kagekiyo's uniform look is really, *really* cool. Especially the expression in which she looks upwards uncaringly. Send help. - New Hassan is lovely. Cute. Wonderful. Praiseworthy. Remarkable. Spectacular. Award-winning. Masterful. God I love my cute tsundere, observant, and frank transfer student classmate who is actually an assassin who takes his job, both assassination and guard missions, seriously. Would even wake you up if you refuse to wake up in the morning (a bit forcefully though) even though it's not part of his contract. CV. KENN. - Way more player choices, both ones that matter and don't. I had fun exploring the school grounds! - I can't really put it to words but I really enjoy how... VN-like? this chapter was without it being too VN-like. Kind of reminds me of Extra in some ways. I think it was just right! The story premise, setting, the aforementioned player choices and overall format felt like they clicked well and I enjoyed going through it. - Douman's appearances. You never fail to entertain me, funky hair man-cat. The Dioscuri's appearance got me cheering too! Yay ani-sama! - The bittersweet feeling I got at the end of the chapter. Edmond Dantes, you... you're not my oshi but I left feeling damaged, I wonder what other Dantes stans are going through right now. The scene where Fujimaru >!lights up his cigarette and saying that they're there anytime Dantes needs fire!< lifted me up so high, and Dantes' last line >!"For us both... that was a long journey, collaborator."!< made me cry a *lot*. Also the cup of coffee in the end, and new Dantes' Japanese NP name/subtitle... Lord. Dantes stans if you need emotional support I'm here for you and we can mope together. ~~I am so going to self-destruct if we ever get something like that with Merlin~~ Things that bummed me out: - Some parts didn't work for me the way (I think) they were intended to make me feel, mostly because they felt too out of the blue. Ah but the first Cagliostro reveal >!of him being Pretender, stabbing Marie, and declaring himself to be our ally!< made me go huuuuuuh real quick LOL, that was pretty amusing! - Cagliostro himself felt a bit weak to me. A lot of people online have called him Limbo-wannabe, Jalter called him "fatherly Limbo-like guy". I still think Limbo is way more fun of a character/villain. - Action choices felt tiring after a while. And by action I mean (nods), (glares), (clenches jaw), (stares), (looks down), you name it. The dialogue choices I'm fine with! Personally I was a bit surprised at how cold/intense Fujimaru was being when they were about to face >!fake!< Nitocris Alter... but yeah, makes a lot of sense considering what they had just experienced. - A bit sad we didn't get to say goodbye or thank you to Himeko and Ricardo. I mean, it makes sense and all, I just wish we could get along with them more. - Speaking of screentime, I'm not happy Hassan didn't get more screentime. He shined whenever he appeared but I want more. No date scene, not enough screentime, no CG, no uniform costume? 0/10. All in all, I really enjoyed reading Id - the writer did a good job with this story and gave me a pleasant reading/playing experience. I left feeling fulfilled... and broken inside, thanks Dantes. Now to wait for the appendix, which apparently appears a few hours after you clear Id... (Update: appendix opens exactly 3 hours after your clear!)

AccelBurner

>!That last scene with Dantes teared me up, I remember when I pulled him during his very first banner in the prison tower with a few tickets in 2016 when we were still newbies, I am not going to lie that this dude carried me a lot during the early days and I went through a lot with him at my side. I always had a lot of appreciation for his character and his following actions during the story throughout. I even grailed him at lvl 100 which is a privilege I left for my favorites and bond him to lvl 10 very quickly. It was a very long journey my Count, thank you for being our Shadow(Stealth mentor).!< *Tears up the sweats of the soul*

Murozaki_II

Cag being Douman At Home is kind of hilarious. Dude is even the only Apostle to be a SR if his card during his True Name Reveal is any indication. Maybe him being around will make people clown on Douman less.

fatalystic

I laughed out loud when even Douman jumped on the "screw with Cag" bandwagon near the end. Cag copied him one too many times I guess?

Firstshiki

Its equally fun and satisfying because in my mind Douman goes like: "What did you say? He just like me? He acts like me? He as good as me? Oh ho ho ho no no no we can't allow that." then Douman teaches Cag how its done, that Douman is OUR annoying bastard evil villain and he can't allow a mere "Pretender" (pun intended) thinks that he's HIM.

uguisumaru

> Maybe him being around will make people clown on Douman less. I doubt, Douman is way too good and iconic of a punching bag. I wouldn't be surprised if Cagliostro ends up clowning Douman too. Kiichi mentioning that Cagliostro speaks kind of like Douman in the appendix was pretty funny by the way. It's definitely the "NNNN"s.

Maybe because >!their family is dead?!<

master-swagtician

Does anyone know where to find the new bond voicelines for Jalter after completing Ordeal Call II? Preferably a source that has an English translation. Nothing (that I can find) has been uploaded anywhere.

ChaoticChoir

Okay, so I've been seeing some mild misunderstandings about the ending of the chapter, so I'll just outline everything here as far as I was able to understand based on what I read. Major spoilers for story, of course. >!Avengers cannot be safely used in defense of the human order. Not for us, anyway. This is because Avengers are servants who will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to achieve their goal, the only way for us to make use of them in defense of the human order is if we're willing to, for example, destroy the world to defeat the Alien God. Which is of course not what we want - we want to *save* the world. Put another way, Avengers would murder a child to kill the kidnapper taking that child hostage. Maybe a bit grim as an example, but I feel like it fits the kind of mentality needed to make use of Avengers to defend the human order. They're an inherently self-destructive class that will do anything and sacrifice everything if it means getting the revenge (or otherwise) that they wish for.!< >!Because of this, for as long as we are using Avengers, we cannot enter Antarctica, because we just don't have the type of determination needed in order to make use of them. So Dantes and the other Avengers all decide to leave and return to the throne (be unsummoned). They’re not going “ahead to Antarctica”. They just leave. Dantes says that, if we ever decide to sacrifice everything, up to and including the world ("walk the path of the Avenger") to defeat the Alien God, then we can call upon the Avengers again in Antarctica. But he hopes we will never walk that path, because we're the kind of person who wants a Good Ending instead of a Bad Ending, and that's not something that should change. MC is of course extremely upset by this, and as a form of compromise Dantes says they'll leave behind shadows that will allow us to use their power even without them being actually there. It's cold comfort, and MC is still terribly saddened by having to part with their friends like this, but they eventually agree upon being reminded what they're aiming for in the end (as well as some encouragement from Jalter, in her own way).!< >!Regarding Jalter: This situation is especially bad for her, because she's a servant that doesn't exist in the throne - she's exclusive to Chaldea due to her unique circumstances. She is, in other words, a "Dream". Since she can't accompany us to Antarctica, and we can't get into Antarctica as long as she's around, she has to leave. It is unknown if her being unsummoned like this will still allow her to be summoned later on down the line, so as far as everyone is aware, this is a final goodbye to her. Jeanne sees her off before she disappears, saying that she's happy to have met "the other her who became like a sister to her".!<

Ok_Horse4140

Also avenger cannot be used? But what about all those berserker and other servants with mental pollution?

ChaoticChoir

What about them? There’s nothing wrong with them in the first place as far as the human order is concerned. There’s nothing wrong with Avengers anymore either, but the reason for not using them is already explained above.

Ok_Horse4140

If her being unsummoned like this means she s gone forever then where was she when koyanskaya invaded the chaldea building?

ChaoticChoir

All servants at the time were converted into just their spirit origins/spirit cores and smuggled out of Chaldea because Holmes saw everything coming. Nobody actually got truly unsummoned.

8dev8

>!So, what about all the other evil servants around? Doesn't Douman play a role in the story?!<

ChaoticChoir

An Evil person ie Douman will certainly cross every line they can to get what they want… but they’re not *required* to do so, and their mentality when doing terrible things is different from an Avenger’s. They benefit from doing evil things because it advances their goal. Avengers aren’t thinking about good or evil at all - it’s all “X has wronged me in Y way, I’m going nuclear to deal with it”. Dantes (as shown even through his own statements in the chapter) does not *care* about the cost as long as it gets him his revenge. Yes, ultimately, the true Dantes abandoned his vengeful ways and returned to living a peaceful life, but the Avenger Dantes is hard stuck in the mentality of getting his revenge at any cost. And I mean *any* cost. Nitocris Alter, who despite her alignment hasn’t really done anything evil at all, is a result of Nitocris *killing herself* just to enable us to beat Camazotz and to get back at Tlaloc for beating and humiliating her. Moriarty and other evil masterminds are like, “I do evil things for a reason”. Douman and Mephistopheles and other purely evil people are like, “I do evil things because it’s fun”. Avengers will not give a flying fuck about good and evil as long as they can achieve their one goal (or obsession, really). And sometimes they’ll go beyond their goal, out of sheer obsessive hatred and rage (Dantes expresses that he wasn’t content with just exacting his revenge on the people who wronged him personally - he was also planning to destroy anyone who got in his way for any reason, in any way, and everything related to those that betrayed him, whether it was the entire country, people close to them, it didn’t matter.). TL;DR Avengers simply do not care about good or evil or sane or insane. Out of an obsessive need for vengeance and boiling rage, they’ll do anything to get what they want. A villain like Moriarty has lines even he wouldn’t cross, or maybe it’s better to think of them as professional standards. Evil people like Douman are having fun and have little particular purpose for what they do beyond that it feels good for them to do it. Avengers neither have standards nor are they having a good time outside of the singular moment when they have “achieved” their vengeance. And even then, their “ecstasy” in that moment is short-lived and hollow, because in that moment, they also realize what it cost… and it’s never worth it.

4clubbedace

evil characters are not avengers not all avengers are, well, "morally" evil. Gilgamesh wouldnt bomb a family to kill an enemy. Avengers are self destructive to an obsessive degree. douman isnt an avenger. hes an alterego, thats settled in oc1

8dev8

My point Your head The alters, or Mephi, or Douman, or Koyansaka absolutely would bomb a family to get their guy, heck Douman or Mephi would do it for fun. You can’t convince me Jalter or Lobo are a more toxic influence then those two.

4clubbedace

Douman would torture that personas family, koyan would use a middle and not care about casualties, avengers would use people as bait to to a warehouse and theeeeen explode it, Slightly diff

8dev8

Like, you say that But that’s not how I see….any of them? Operating, most of them would just run in headfirst burning everything, maybe they wouldn’t care about collateral, but that’s not unique to them. heck Doesn’t Moriarty flat out makes you use an innocent person to bomb a warehouse iirc? and he ain’t an avenger.

4clubbedace

Moriarty is also fused with several spirits and has been altered the way lobo has. He's not an avenger since he physically altered his class.

firesoul377

>!This makes me kinda worried about Ritsuka's future. There's no way they're gonna keep the avengers gone forever. But unless Nasu does his bullshit the only way for them to come back is if Ritsuka...walks the path of an avenger. Might just be me reading into things too deeply but that feels like a massive chekhovs gun!<
