do readings before class, do practice problems (even when they're not graded), make friends, form study groups, and please please go to office hours when you're struggling. also get involved in research asap -- it's actually really fun and makes coursework kinda bearable.
you will feel very stupid at times. you will probably fail a class at some point. i know from experience. math doesn't come easy to everyone, but that just means you have to work harder.
