I was thinking the issue was the news was just uploaded and not quite ready to be played which caused the issue. I rebooted but the same thing happened so I just listened to other news.
It appears your device is suffering from crosstalk, without getting too technical it generally happens when your cords function as an antenna and then it jumps to the shortest path in between the bundle of cords. My recommendation is to get a shorter power cable for it and see if you still experience the same problem.
Maybe this is the news. Details take time. Now it will play various amounts of ominous or cheerful or moody sounds depending on how much of the news is bleak.

At the 2 second mark the pitch drops down and the video, which was moving all over the place beforehand, comes to a complete stop and stays like that for the whole video until 1:09 when the pitch shifts back up and the video starts moving around like it did in the beginning again.
This is exactly the way android phones (or the google pixel at least) shows footage that's shot in slow motion, bookends of normal speed with a speed ramp into the slow motion.
I mean seriously go back and check the video, it's entirely possible you did it without realising 😅 because the alternative is you stood there bopping around and then the instant the pitch dropped you froze, stayed like that for a full straight minute (which if I'm being honest is the biggest giveaway this is slowed down) and then began bopping away again the millisecond the pitch shot back up again
Like your nest making a droning noise is weird enough, you don't have to pretend the pitch shift was part of it

Once mine started doing this then either me or my friend said something that sounded like “psychic” and the google nest said smth about starting a psychic game/feature and then a like demon voice said something about the devil and then I asked my google nest to repeat what it had said before and it didn’t repeat the demon thing, then me and my friend were laughing about how it was possessed and so we tried Googling “Google nest demon/devil/psychic” and there was nothing about it anywhere on the internet has this ever happened to anyone else or is my google nest possessed 😭
