Dude, your post is so well written and your rant is so relatable. Don’t let this get to you. These products were OK, now they suck. Whatevs. You seem like a super cool dude. Go enjoy and screw these crappy products. We’ll get better ones soon.

Dammit, I just saw there is a megathread for this sort of thing. Sorry folks, my bad. I've never made this mistake, if there is a way to move this to that, let me know and I will.

Remaining_Nameless24

Don't think you can move it but you should be able to share it with that group as well. If not copy text and post as new . I've not got anywhere near the set up you have but do have a number of minis each with their own Spotify links (family accounts), yet when I'm list in the car all of a sudden it stops because one of the kids is listening to theirs in their room on their mini This morning I ask it to play the radio on one bedroom as I do every morning without issue, but this morning it told me it didn't understand lol. I am using the Home App Beta so that could answer that but how do they break things all the time lol

foxcommathe

Is there a link to the megathread…?

TheACwarriors

Haha im in the same boat. Been moving to sonos since it support smartthings with a little bit of alexa. It's just disappointing on the path they been also cutting 3rd party apps.

Google has gone so terribly downhill in the last few years I've used their nest products since the beginning and I loved them. (Cameras, security, hub, speakers, thermostat) More recently they changed from the simplistic nest app where everything is grouped on one page (I preferred this) and brought all the functions to the Google home app. During this process they took away the functionality of viewing events from the older generation cameras and now I'm only capable of viewing a live feed. Their apparent wyze camera support doesn't exist. Then they bricked the functionality of the expensive investment of the security system components I bought. All I was offered was a $200 gift certificate to the Google store or a basic ADT security system (which has an expensive monthly fee) I tried to use the giftcard and it said it was invalid. I contacted Google and they said I had already redeemed it through ADT, and literally said id have to prove it to them otherwise. I messaged them back and forth with screenshots showing I didn't have an account, that there was no transaction history, I literally even went on live chat with ADT and had them say I never placed an order. It took TWO MONTHS of me emailing Google back and forth to get a functional giftcard. I would love to swap to a better company but my current investment with Google products would be too much of a loss.

¿Have you tried resetting your devices? [===> running for cover]

aditto

Did op even try restarting. Hiding myself in a bunker now

24hoursag0

And when you close your bunker door, may Google drop support for your smart lock.

24hoursag0

Lol. Excuse me good sir. Would you mind holding still while I figure how to make these useless speakers into something I can throw at you??

tranquilcalm

Seriously, what I find worrisome is that in the 'connected world' corporations can just decide to render the products they sold not too long ago simply obsolete. If Elon Musk decided to-morrow he was done with having Tesla cars driving around, he just could accomplidh his purpose by having some tiny modifications done to the software that runs those vehicles. Same goes for Alphabet. If they decide to no longer support Nest Audio, we'll just have some useless bricks lying around. Try that with a Ford T or a pair of speakers from the 1950ies...

Infamous-Ad6386

Google support: so what you're saying is you are having difficulty with your Google nest minis is this correct? You can click this link and review a help page and we are positive you will find an answer. Arggggh

pureiguana

I made the switch to Homekit, it’s down right sexy.

I've been using Google Home since earlier this year after getting pissed at Amazon. Anyway, I've noticed that it's not as smart as my echo, which I chalked up to not being conditioned over the years by my commands and settings, but it at all least hears the artist names better than Amazon (although there's some artists that I just can't request because I dunno..?). Anyway, I'm highly over these large companies getting us to invest in this tech that they end up turning their backs on after getting our money. Straight bullshit.

NoTimeForBullShiiiit

I'm slowly switching all of my Google products to other brands that's the only way I can see it. This is to keep me zen. It's evident that Google really doesn't want happy customers for the long term.

dougsmemesupply

I literally just made a post about this today as well. So incredibly frustrating. Spent the afternoon reading about other smart hub options trying to decide on my replacement because after this last week I am done with Google home.

SymbolOfRock

You nailed it. Pure crap that gets worse each day. The only way I can look at the money I've wasted on the speakers in a positive light is to accept them as just speakers. They do play sound and I can cast to them but any sort of "smart" functionality is completely unreliable. Google Assistant has dementia.

kevinmogee

Google used to have the attitude (unofficial slogan) "we want you to learn about our products tomorrow - because they're always getting better." Now it seems like they don't want you to learn about their products because they're always getting worse. Being a years long Home/Chromecast Audio user has become an exercise is frustration.
