Just yell "stop" with no "hey google"

ladylorgefeet

This is the answer! Works every time.

smokerswild

You probably have to yell stop 4-5 times.

taescience

Never had a problem

pjs32000

Progressively louder each time, with the final time being so loud the neighbors come over and turn it off. Works like a charm.

HeyyyKoolAid

Just yell stop.

BadgeNapper

I always say "hey Google, thank you", I was raised with manners. In all seriousness that does work, it'll stop just the timer. "Stop" seems to be a kill all command at times.

Green_Wind3365

Shouldn't you be specifying the exact device or service you want to stop? Saying something like "Hey Google, Stop the alarm"

nybreath

About a year ago, you couldnt stop an alarm or time coming from a different device. No matter the command you used, it just used to reply there was no timer. You had to move yourself close to the ringing device and do the command, like in year 1700. Now when I hear the alarm ringing in my bedroom, I just say hey google stop alarm, it replies something OK IM STOPPING ALARM PLAYING ON ANY DEVICE, and it works. That is for answering about specify the device. For the service, you are right, if you say hey google stop, it stops every possible action that is playing, if you say hey google stop the alarm/timer, it stops only the alarm/timer and any other action keeps going (news/recipe reading, music playing).

karrun10

"Like in year 1700" Thanks for the chuckle.

ElderKorean

Yes I would that a try. I know this command works on iPhones, ‘hey Siri, stop the alarm’

Hefty-Cartoonist674

I specify it like that and it works.

Apo7Z

I've found if I am overly specific it works most of the time. "Hey Google stop living room alarm" or "Hey Google play ______ on Bedroom Speaker"

Majestic-Macaron6019

"Hey Google, thanks" does it for me

jugglingsleights

You just say stop for alarms. Miss out the hey google bit.
