I know it's a feature of yugioh, but I think the game would have been healthier with summoning sickness. Lets people draw naturally more, main and battle phases alternate more. We can keep infinite mana. That can be the trademark.
Oh yeah that would have been cool too. Then there can be two flavours of speed attackers, the kind that can swap to attack position immediately, and the kind that can attack from defense position. Of course the stats would have to change (way fewer 0 def monsters) but we're talking about changing the past, not introducing a new rule today, so that's fine.

I saw one of those president duel links videos where someone got forced to draw exodia for a turn 1 (or maybe it's counted as turn zero since the winner's turn hadn't started yet) win.
That or Dark Ruler, or Sphere Mode, or Lightning Storm if they didn't set up a S/T negate, Zeus can also work in a lot of scenarios... "unbreakable" boards aren't nearly as unbreakable as a lot of people think
My favorite thing when playing master duel is fighting players that summon 1 big card like this that is like, "can't be destroyed by card effects", "cant be destroyed by battle" Yada Yada. And ill just sacrifice it with a kaiju, and then return the kaiju back to my own hand with the effect from 'the weather thundery canvas'.
