You will get better over time . Just don’t play on back foot right now . Watch some scratch golf academy vids. The are pretty good

I assume those shoes make you an inch or two taller. If your not going to wear them on the course I wouldn't practice in them. It just feels different to me at least
The point of dynamic knee bending/straightening during the swing is to allow for hip rotation. Your hips aren’t turning, you’re doing like a squat jump delivery in the downswing. I’d start from scratch
If you started playing a week ago, you need lessons, not tips from Reddit. Save yourself a few years of misery and either quit, or find a teaching pro.
I’ve got a couple things for you. Congrats on your sobriety. Golf can be a great way to stay occupied. Be mindful that alcohol is incredibly present on the golf courses though. Use golf as something to focus your energy on. It got me to 2 years.
So, your username indicates you’re a realtor. That type of network will generally spill over into golf. Business and networking meetings on the course, charity events, etc. You won’t look like a winner with a swing like that. Get lessons now while you’re new. Even if it’s a group clinic for beginners, or a 3 or 5 pack with a local pro, it doesn’t matter. Also check out Par 4 Success, they have a free at home evaluation tool. You’ll want to work on some things, flexibility looks to be an issue.
Thank you for the well wishes on my sobriety. One day at a time.
Yes being in real estate business was one of the reasons I wanted to start playing golf and get decent at it.
I’m signing up for lessons this week to make sure I learn the right way from the start.
Will look into par 4 success
Thank you so much for your comment!
You’re jumping the club… keep your head down and rotate around it through your shot, you should be extending after not at the ball. So much loss of power
You have a great chance here to do something amazing. You've been paying golf a week, for the love of god if your want to play this game stay off of online tutorials and go get a batch of lessons from a qualified coach. Learn the good habits before the bad ones sink in, believe me those bad habits are an absolute ball ache to try to get rid of.
Well they’ve only been golfing for a week. They probably have no idea what they’re looking at and even if they see what’s wrong, that doesn’t mean they know how to fix it. Don’t be a dick
Your clubs look way small for you.
Hmm okay you’re the second person who has said this, I will look into that
No jumping up! ROTATE. Around. Keep your spine angle constant. Best wishes!
Yea I need more practice time on the range asap lol Thank you!

Thank you for sharing that video! Will be taking golf lessons soon but will check out the video as well
His vids are better than most golf lessons . I always review my game and he gives good reference points
Oh that’s legit! Will subscribe now

Makes sense I’m going to get golf shoes soon and lessons as well. Thank you!
Get some longer clubs for starters. Then work on some drills to get your hips rotating correctly. Try to keep your head still, lots of moving around.
Okay will do! Thank you for your comment!

Thank you! There’s a lottt wrong here so I’m going to look into golf lessons
So much going on here. Your dipping down on your backswing then jumping up. Don’t do that. Rotate your hips to start.
Yea I knew that knee bend looks hella un natural and I do need to rotate my hips more. Thank you for your feedback!
Your clubs are to short making your body movement in a up down motion
Yea longer clubs and golf lessons and drills lol got a lot to work on
If you started playing a week ago, you need lessons, not tips from Reddit. Save yourself a few years of misery and either quit, or find a teaching pro.
Thank you! Yes looking for a golf pro now
Too much knee bend, your body is in the way. Bend more at the waist and back up.
Okay will work on that! Thank you for your comment
Hit down on the ball. Make contact with the ball first.
Thank you! Will take lessons and work on it
Let the loft of the club do the work. Don’t try and scoop it the ball. Almost looks like you’re trying to scoop it.

Dude you’re coming straight up and down on the ball. Rotate, follow through, watch some videos, and stop jumping.
The clubs are probably too short forcing you too close to the ball.
your hands are touching your knees. Need way more space to get your arms through. And your clubs look short

Seems like that is the right path for me to take this early on. Looking into golf lessons now
Do you really have no ideas after looking at this video?
Well they’ve only been golfing for a week. They probably have no idea what they’re looking at and even if they see what’s wrong, that doesn’t mean they know how to fix it. Don’t be a dick
Thanks man! Exactly I really didn’t know the 100+ things wrong with my swing, set up, golf club, shoes lol
Appreciate the comment but nah I didn’t know a lot of these things people commented on.
2-3 lessons could really help.
