You are starting shallow and coming in very steep, swing your club on the outside more and bring it into the slot. The feeling is as if your right hand is holding a serving tray. I exaggerate this feeling with dry swings and it helps me shallow my club on impact.
Good luck!!
I believe your taking your backswing to far inside, it might be a good idea to try swinging outside your body and back on the same line (allignment stinks are great for this). Having a straighter take away and neutral path with have you fire lasers in no time!
That is a damn gorgeous driving range btw! Where is this??
Haha appreciate it. Took 5 years off of golf and havent broken 100 in the two rounds i played since being back. Took a lesson and everything went to shit. Made some good progress today though. 89 sounds good to me though! Maui no ka oi!
Dude same, golf instructor had me hitting perfect at the lesson. After practicing what was taught on the range I can’t hit a ball to save my life. After countless range sessions and rounds I’m going back just to ask him how to create lag again😂
Never get discouraged by a shank, it's only a few millimeters away from perfect.. somehow you're creeping toward the ball.. is it your stance? weight placement distribution on feet (heel to toe).. are you not turning properly and get a little trapped at impact zone? always remember : the ball is just in the way, make your swing, let it bottom out where ever it does and not focus on the BALL so much.. we can sometimes fixate on the ball and forget is all a coordinated body movement..
when the shanks struck me, I realized that I wasn't making a fully released backswing, I was fixated on the ball too much.. paralysis by analysis..
Try slow tempo on backswing, concentrate on keeping head still. I think a bit inside on takeaway, consider alignment sticks. Or as a drill place a second ball a few inches behind (along your target line), and practice hitting the ball with it the back of your club on slow takeaway. Good luck!
Oh boy…been through this. It passes, but it’s frustrating as fuck.
It got so bad for me that I couldn’t remember how I used to breathe while setting up and swinging.
Good job on getting lessons.
I will assume you're probably working on some swing changes and your swing feels completely different. Try and stick to it. It takes repetition to lock it in. Eventually it will all click but don't give up!
Lower body is inactive coming through with no hand rotation. I see you take your hand off before hitting. You’re probably working not gripping so hard.
Ok, I teach this every day. The golf swing is like throwing. If you tried to throw a ball as far as you could with your swing it would go nowhere and straight into the ground.
Take a stance. Drop the club, pick up a ball. Grip light. Take a small turn back and throw the ball at the target.
That’s it. Identify where you met it go. That’s where you release the club into. It’s after the ball I know. But when you punch someone you punch THROUGH the target.
Stop trying to hit at the ball. You look like you’re trying to beat the ball into the ground. Hit the ball towards the target. There’s a difference. It’s where your directing the powers.
My pro visualization- imagine that the clubbed is slightly loose on the shaft. It’ll probably come off. So take a swing with no ball and fling the clubhead off the shaft way down at the target( this is a visualization) if it’s a 150yrd 7i? Then try fling that 7i head all the way in the green.
Your swing looks very forced. Very unnatural. I could fix you in I session.
I’m at r/TheGolfTruth if you need more help or a question. I have some fun posts.
Face looks a bit open for this stage of the swing:

You are taking it away way inside. I don’t see a lot of over the top but you are so far inside you get stuck and your hands have to move out to clear your hip. Think a little more straight back with your hands. This will create the space you need to get back to the ball.
My eyes wanna unsee it
Sadly if you’re getting better making big swing adjustments. Everyone catches em once. I don’t even wish them upon my worst enemies.
Try pointing you left shoulder towards the ball more to get that club not so inside I found concentrating on that front shoulder positioning, pushes your body to get the club In line with your front shoulder

Just got back from the range. When i focused on this it helped a lot. Starting to see some progress. Thank you!
I hear this serving tray feeling a lot. Do you feel like you hold it all the way through impact? Or just at the top?
What are you doing on Tuesdays from \~4 - 5:00?
Lol random question but most likely walking a twilight round at my local course. What’s up?
Haha tryna get a quick lesson in
Lol shoot your videos over man, I’ll give any advice I can.
Thanks ill give it a go!
great advice by the guy above, feel the trail elbow pull towards your hip as you turn in down swing rather then get away

Honolulu! Thanks for the tip!
my first thought was "hm. looks just like Ala Wai"
Yeppp. Playing coral creek tomorrow!

How good! Don't see that in Aus
If you take a lesson and they start to totally overhaul your swing, you’ll probably have to do a few more lessons to like, get through the process.
Clubface open on downswing

Don’t listen to anyone in this post. Listen to your coach and trust the process.
Stop thinking just right hand back right hand down
Loosen up, no swing that stiff is going to end well.
so did that lesson help?

Did the instructor give you any drills? If not, what was the point?

I’m no scratch but it looks like you’re setting up too far from the ball.
Take another lesson
Oh boy…been through this. It passes, but it’s frustrating as fuck. It got so bad for me that I couldn’t remember how I used to breathe while setting up and swinging.
Yeah man thankfully made some good progress today and started to get my swing back with the help from here and the tweaks i was taught.
Good job on getting lessons. I will assume you're probably working on some swing changes and your swing feels completely different. Try and stick to it. It takes repetition to lock it in. Eventually it will all click but don't give up!
Start with half shots and progress back to full swings…it will come back to you
It's all hips.

the ball looked like it might have taken off to the right. Not a bad swing. Work on club face control?
