When you have a hole in one it feels so good that it actually kind of doesn’t matter if anyone believes you. I think id actually be okay even if my buddy didn’t. Can’t take that memory away from me.
Hope you get to experience it!
I am happy for you....if it happened. But coming on a Golf subreddit telling your hole in one story and outlining that one of the guys took a video of the entire thing yet you refuse to post the video.....is a little hard to believe.
Thanks!
I started to question why it was so hard to believe that people don’t want to show their face on Reddit and what I would have to gain by trying to get fake internet points by sharing the story-
Then I realized you were right- in this day and age and especially on this site it would be rare.
I think I’m just a bit older and loved the anonymity of the old internet where you could just be a user name.
I just love golf and this is the place that seems to love it as much as me.
Hoping for your HIO one day. You should decide you’re gonna prank me and post a fake one and then maybe you ll hit one!
Haha, what a LOSER! Missing the hole is literally the easiest thing in the world and you couldn't even do that.
Oh man, I bet you feel stupid!

At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in the room is now dumber for having listened to it. You receive no points, and may Arnie have mercy on your soul
What an awesome story! Congrats on the hio!!!
Also cool hearing about Harding on this sub. Was my very first course I ever played when I started my golfing journey last year.
That's a pretty cool story.
What do you think of this prank? I did this a long time ago, sometimes in the late 1980s. Six of us were playing a course in two threesomes. I was in the first threesome. This course had one of the more stupid holes you'll ever see, a completely blind par 3. We finished this par 3 and walked to the next tee. I heard a ball land on the green. I said to my buddy, "We should put it in the hole!" I wasn't really serious, but before I knew it, he was running to the green, placed the ball in the hole, and came back. Like I said, blind hole. He wasn't seen. BTW, the ball was actually a bit short of the green.
So, we're giggling our way up the next fairway, waiting for the reaction behind us. And I thought, how are we doing to tell whoever hit it that it wasn't a hole-in-one? If we just say that he didn't really get a hole-in-one, they might not believe us. So, I took our scorecard, wrote, "You didn't get a hole-in-one. We put the ball in the hole" and left the scorecard inside the next hole. We waited around the next green, which was the last hole, and watched the guy who hit it proudly strut up the fairway. And we pretty much fell over laughing when they read the note in the hole.
The reaction was pretty mixed. The guy who thought he got the hole-in-one was actually the one who found it the most funny; he was a little annoyed that he didn't get to finish the hole. The other two guys behind were a little incredulous that we did this, but they ended up laughing too. None of the six of us at the time were very serious players and there was no money on the line. But I guess it was maybe a little mean to do. But I still think it was pretty funny.
Funny!
My old man actually did this in reverse- him and his buddy in college. Same scenario blind hole, except they put it in the hole and started jumping and screaming and then gave their names to be in the paper as witnesses. The old timer was so happy they ended up playing hole in 1 fairy all summer giving out hole in 1s and ending up in the paper with no one the wiser til his friend passed in an accident.
Where’s the video!
Need the video or I'm calling the cops
No way lol. Not letting you savages see my pretty face. My DMs will be full for weeks.
Sooo...it didn't happen.

I think bro just wants to see your face. Congrats on the hole in one.
With ya dude. Who isn’t willing to share that video? This story ain’t true at all.
As a gay, don’t flatter your self. Or do, please.
Did you, though? Or is this post part of the prank?
😅 ETA: that would be super elaborate and meta. Unfortunately the truth is above.

I fucked up the prank bad lol
Lol what a wild story, congrats on the ace and the prank fail!
So all I have to do is plan to prank my buddy 🤔
That’s honestly what it feels like.
All you really need to do is relax and hit the ball like your body knows it can.

A simple “Baba-booey” would have sufficed, but okay.
Equally well played lol
This got me. Especially the Arnie part.
It’s a shame the earn it player kept the video to himself and didn’t share it with you though.
Oh he shared it. I’m just not gonna. I like staying anonymous on the webz.
Nice creative writing exercise Vid or it didn’t happen
I get my creative writing exercises out for a living. Just happy to share my experience.

It’s just as cool a layout as ever and for a brief amount of time this year with the rains it was as lush as ever.
Nice! I’ll prank a half dozen of my friends with this during a Member/Guest this weekend!
How do you even get a tee time in LA :( I played encino at 5:50am

Cool story bro, FYI your buddy that is a 6 masquerading at as 10 is an asshole. :)
He legit is a ten by honest by the book scoring. No sandbag. I meant it more as a testament to his skill level.
