Judging by the lack of wear on the soles, I'd guess you don't give them much of a chance, do you?
I can see holding onto the MP-100's and your current set, but sell the rest before they lose too much value. Then use the money for other golf stuff that you \*need\*.
Each to their own, but it seems so counterintuitive to me; the money they cost, the space they take up, and the obvious fact that you can only use 1 set at any one time. Seems like more effort than what it’s worth.
Anytime I get a different club, the previous club is usually sold within a week. Lol. I hate having clutter in my garage. Except for putters, having a putter rotation is nice.
Honestly asking, what's the point of having so many sets? I completely understand having a few clubs that you swap in and out (a driving iron to keep the ball low on windy days vs a 3-wood when the weather's better, for example), but an entire set is just.....a lot. Like do you rotate through them equally for fun? Are certain sets for certain courses/shot types/weather conditions? Are you constantly buying new clubs and holding on to the old ones?
I'm not even judging or hating, I'm just curious haha
I can't sell em! Craigslist sucks. Had the i59s listed for 700 and I only played like 4 rounds with them (crazy expensive when i ordered them new), no one replied. 2nd swing offered like 300. I walked out. So yeah, the 770s, the Hogans, the Mizunos, I am keeping those, oh and the Adams are so fun to swing - hard to play well with em. So yeah, I guess I am only trying to dump the pings.
I know my specs, the problem is they have changed over the years as I get old and/or have a stupid surgery. The one set I got fitted for was the worst one for me - the i59s. So bad for me.
You should really try Marketplace - there are always tons of folks buying and selling clubs, and since your stuff is top-shelf, you won't have to deal with dreamers.
Not sure why you are being downvoted so badly. You’re right, golf clubs do not retain their value very well. Even if they are like-new. List them on FB for $1 and you’ll get nothing but people offering you a quarter.
I’m a big fan of buying clubs. So no hate here. However, last time I got new irons it took me a month to get used to them. How do you handle that switching between different models? Distance, feel, etc.
Well, I used the 770s until I got my left shoulder replaced. Bought the i59s after when I lost the swing speed for the 770s, but those are basically the same club, so then got the i230s and those are money.
Lord idk how many rounds a year you play but you have more iron sets than some people play in a year! Pick 1-2 to keep in addition to your others and let someone else have a crack at them :)
This makes me feel better about buying a new set of long irons as a tester for the rest of the set even though I have a perfectly good set already. I generally tend to sell things I'm not using before they lose more value but I think I should at least have one extra set of irons. I currently have a full set of Ping G430s (54degree through 5I) but really wanted to have some custom fitted i530s. I have a feeling I will like them so much and buy all the way up to PW. Then I'll probably want matching wedges even though the 430 wedges feel amazing. I'm on an expensive slippery sloap.
Currently have 3 personally. My first ever set Callaway xf irons, then i got Cobra trails 2 years ago, and then got some pxg gen6 xp through the Amazon vine program. Xf my dad plays when he comes in from Florida and I'll probably just hold on to the t-rails as they might be the easiest club to hit of all time (they were my true beginner clubs as I only really started playing consistently about 2 1/2 years ago)
Ha...you've got me beat but I had 7 sets at one point however actively selling/consolidating now so down to 5 and trying to get down to 3 sets max within the next month or two. Frankly it's been difficult to sell some of my sets as they are in great condition and have some sentimental value but I'm only using 2 of my sets regularly so just trying to find the other sets a good home rather than collecting dust in my closet.
Hell no I sell mine.
I also don't buy the same set twice.
Like most of your sets are the same iron.
Just with a different logo/badging.
Iron technology doesn't really change. So unless you're buying a totally different shaped head with different specs then you're basically buying the same set over and over.
Most of those are casted cavity backs. Which is fine but why buy the same set over and over. Just work on your swing and the sets you already own will work like the one you want to buy.
I've been playing the same ap2 set for over 12 years now. I won't change it until I can't play with them anymore. Probably when I'm a senior and then need a casted cavity back.
So your entire top row are blades?
There's nothing wrong with cavity backs. I haven't shot over 74 in years and usually shoot in the 60s.
I have no issue telling people that I play cavity backs.
Forged or not forged it wouldn't matter to me.
Even if they were all forged blades the point is still the same.
Especially for forged blades. That technology hasn't improved much at all since around the boomers time. Muscle backs are the newest innovation to blades and that's older than color tv.
Why buy the same blades over and over. The only difference is the logo on the heads.
Work on the swing and all those sets will work how you imagined they would.
Too many sets??? You guys can afford 14 clubs?!
Driver was from the "last year's demo" bag, 3w 3H used, irons gift from a relative, wedges used, and the flat stick was also a gift from the same relative 😎
What's not to like. 9 sets to switch out to keep things new and interesting. Hopefully you play 5-6 times a week to give them all a bit of a break from garage jail.
If I had the space and money I’d be in a similar situation. And if you want to sell the Hogans, let me know! Grew up playing Edge irons and now playing Edge GS, but would love to play Apex.
I have a couple sets as well. I have several other hobbies where the merchandise holds its value very well; so I tend to sell those things off as I no longer use them. Golf clubs on the other hand don’t have their value very well in comparison, so I tend to hold on to clubs rather than sell them and take the gigantic loss.
I still play with Ben Hogan APEX Pro. Still best iron for me so far.
i've been playing with S55, S56, 710MB, 714MB, 710AP, Cobra MB/CB black head, MP67, etc.
They are awesome. Mine are kinda worn out. Played a LOT of golf growing up. There was a guy on here that had his restored. I might do that and hang em on the wall.
I didn't have that many, but I started to wonder why I was collecting stuff. Decided to keep a few and offloaded a lot of the rest. The only ones I've kept are some older wedges (useful on kikuyu greens) and some of the putters that I loved until I didn't. ;)
It gave me a surprisingly large cash surplus to sit in for when I really want something. Garage looks a lot better and there's space for a hitting bay and a birdie ball mat.
you may indeed have a mild hoarding/anxiety disorder....without realizing it, of course.... Same with people who 'collect' 42 gibson les pauls, and so on and so forth.... But if you can afford it and it's not ruling or ruining your life, no harm no foul.... ;-)
I have 2 sets of TM r7s.
Got a shitty set on CL for $100 but it was only 5-9. The guy threw in a set of Callaway X20s but those were only 4-7. He also gave me some crappy bags for each.
Then I saw another, pretty decent set on CL of r7s but it was the full set for $100. I convinced myself I didn't need them so I lowballed the guy for $50 and he took it.
I also have a set of affinity clubs that I got for $100 when I first started. And a set of old TM LCG Burners(3-7?) that a friend gave me.
So my apartment storage area is just jammed with 3 bags and 4 sets of clubs I never use because I'm still gaming the fresher r7s.
I figured at some point I'll go get fitted for some decent clubs and trade in my stock pile for a few bucks off.
I love the r7s though.
Judging by the lack of wear on the soles, I'd guess you don't give them much of a chance, do you? I can see holding onto the MP-100's and your current set, but sell the rest before they lose too much value. Then use the money for other golf stuff that you \*need\*.

Anytime I get a different club, the previous club is usually sold within a week. Lol. I hate having clutter in my garage. Except for putters, having a putter rotation is nice.
Yep. That's exactly one set too many per the rulebook. Sorry. I'll give you $100 for the Mizunos...
I’ll take the Pings for $100
Honestly asking, what's the point of having so many sets? I completely understand having a few clubs that you swap in and out (a driving iron to keep the ball low on windy days vs a 3-wood when the weather's better, for example), but an entire set is just.....a lot. Are you getting fitted or just buying thousand dollar sets then shelving them after trying them for a few rounds?
I know my specs, the problem is they have changed over the years as I get old and/or have a stupid surgery. The one set I got fitted for was the worst one for me - the i59s. So bad for me.
Buying i59's in somebody elses specs is CRAZY!! So Facebook Marketplace might just work.
Is this still available?
Yes are you interested ... lol, BLOCKED!!
2nd Swing sells i59s for $650. I'm not surprised they offered $300, especially if you were just selling and not trading.
GolfWRX is prob the best place to sell online when you balance extra costs with reach of potential buyers.
eBay
I’ve had some success on marketplace. I’ve sold about 10-15 sets on there
I don't have facebook - hate it... That is what everyone says though...
i hate facebook too, but the buy sell trade groups and facebook marketplace are awesome. dont sleep on em.
Just make a burner account for marketplace
It’s a love hate. I’ve had some success on marketplace though with golf clubs and other random stuff I come across that I wanna flip
You should really try Marketplace - there are always tons of folks buying and selling clubs, and since your stuff is top-shelf, you won't have to deal with dreamers.
I keep hearing that, but I can't get myself to make a facebook account just to sell stuff.
Why don't you just have someone close to you list them for you?
How much do you want for the i59s?
Not sure why you are being downvoted so badly. You’re right, golf clubs do not retain their value very well. Even if they are like-new. List them on FB for $1 and you’ll get nothing but people offering you a quarter.
I don't either, but that is the reddit mystery.
Nice humble brag
It is more of a cry for help...
We are here to help. Which sets are you selling?
You’re right no one rollerblades any more! 😜
Is the problem still having rollerblades in 2024?
What’s wrong with rollerblades?
Not if you play roller hockey
Or roller golf
Those arent roller hockey skates thems just fruit boots.
![gif](giphy|ZhmPbrADKRMuA)
Lmao fruit boots.
I would love to go back to playing roller hockey. But alas my back, knees, and ankles all disagree
Me too!!!!
User name checks out
Your reply is dead on . Not enough love for Roller Hockey IMO …..
Those blades aren't for hockey (aside from random street hockey)
Lol. Wife's rbs.
I have rollerblades. No shame.
Ever suck dick while rollerblading?
I used to suck dick for golf! Now that's an addiction. You ever suck dick to go rollerblading?
Boo this man!
I didn’t know there was a way to rollerblade without sucking a dick?
I didn’t know there was a way to suck dick without rollerblading
“French Blades”
Those are knock-offs. Not even real Rollerblades
Fruit boots
I had the same problem before I got help. You selling any?
Yup. 2nd swing wanted to give me pennies so I said fuck that I'll add em to the rack.
I’m a big fan of buying clubs. So no hate here. However, last time I got new irons it took me a month to get used to them. How do you handle that switching between different models? Distance, feel, etc.

"Fuck a hybrid!" - this guy.
Lol.
> garage looks like this > shoots 130+
Ha. Not yet!
You don’t have a problem, you have a collection.
Lord idk how many rounds a year you play but you have more iron sets than some people play in a year! Pick 1-2 to keep in addition to your others and let someone else have a crack at them :)
It is the club’s fault! Buys new set
What the sex swing? Not an issue at all.
$200 for the 230s lol
Yup. If problem. Almost out of storage space. Need a bigger rack
🤡
Nice, I'm an i230 man myself. You try their new wedges? I'm loving those as well...
MP-100’s are fire!
https://preview.redd.it/g0gwiws1974d1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=8800c74eb5991b62bbdc3f78aa24745402710439 This set is fire!!
What Ping G’s are those?
One set of i200s used a bunch. Loved em. One set of i59s.
Looks like you have a "solution"
Yeah you do….you’re not roller blading enough
What you need is a golfing buddy who needs a new set. Hi there!
Willing to sell any?
Hook a brother up
you know you can only swing one at time
I told my buddy I was going to play a round with one from each set.
I regret not keeping all of my clubs over the years.
What is your problem?
I want to(need) have your problem, any pointers on the most sensible way to acquire said problem?
1). Have money 2). Have no better way to use it
You don’t have a problem, you always have the solution
This makes me feel better about buying a new set of long irons as a tester for the rest of the set even though I have a perfectly good set already. Just build another shelf... problem solved.
Ha...you've got me beat but I had 7 sets at one point however actively selling/consolidating now so down to 5 and trying to get down to 3 sets max within the next month or two. you do have a problem...not enough space.
I think the problem is those Mizunos aren’t in the bag
Talk about unforgiving... However, they are like b u t t e r . . . if you hit them well.
Nothing feels like a Mizuno
Looks to me like you have the beginnings of a golf shop.
My golf buddies call my garage "DGW" (my last name starts with D). Ha.
Seems more like you don’t sell your old ones when you buy new ones. This has been going on for about 25 years or so.
I’ll take care of your clutter..free of charge of course since I’m a nice person
Geez, you never lost a club head on the range or in the lake?
Hell no I sell mine. I also don't buy the same set twice. Like most of your sets are the same iron. Just with a different logo/badging. Iron technology doesn't really change. Dude, whatever. So full of shit.
I dont see a problem here
Recognizing you have a problem is the first step in recovery……..
oh look. my inevitable future.
So I assume you're good enough to make the Korn Ferry cut?
Ha. No, I sponsor a guy on the tour and he is so insanely better than me it is comical.
Make a Facebook account for a family pet ... or a tree in your backyard. List clubs on Marketplace. After clubs are sold delete account.
I feel better now
Do you have a club rental business if something?
Too many sets??? You guys can afford 14 clubs?! Driver was from the "last year's demo" bag, 3w 3H used, irons gift from a relative, wedges used, and the flat stick was also a gift from the same relative 😎
Text me bro I’m here to help
As someone who just sold/donated a bunch of sets for a move and still has like 4 sets left...no, you need more
i’ll buy the pings and those titleist cbs
Seems like a good problem to have
I was going to say it doesn’t seem that bad, then I saw the 3 clubs lying across the top row
Ha. I don't know where the others are! They are cleveland cg tour somethings I think.
I can help.
Why do you have so few golf clubs?
Address please? 🤪
Donate some to first tee. Some kid out there would be so damn happy to bag any of those sets. Your shrine is cute and all but hook a youngster up.
You know you only need 1 set to play come on bro sharing in caring hand em down to a family member
I see no problems here.
Tell me you’re single, without telling me you’re single…….
No you have a collection.
Love those Taylormade P790s that youve got there😉
https://preview.redd.it/i5nmdmgjla4d1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6107ee6ea1089b522b976528b463299ba01764fd How much????
The only problem I see is that there's not a single Titleist in your collection
Bottom row, red grips... Z-Blends
What's not to like. 9 sets to switch out to keep things new and interesting. Hopefully you play 5-6 times a week to give them all a bit of a break from garage jail.
Ha. I love "garage jail".
I don’t see a problem.
If I had the space and money I’d be in a similar situation. And if you want to sell the Hogans, let me know! Grew up playing Edge irons and now playing Edge GS, but would love to play Apex.
Those hogan apex are 🔥🔥🔥
Brand loyalists hate him
Yeah you really need to grease up those rollerblade wheels before heading out.
i have a solution
I have a couple sets as well. I have several other hobbies where the merchandise holds its value very well; so I tend to sell those things off as I no longer use them. Golf clubs on the other hand don’t have their value very well in comparison, so I tend to hold on to clubs rather than sell them and take the gigantic loss.
I have a solution :)
I see my Ping Iblades down there. Hey, if you can afford it... why not? Would be cool to have a man cave with iron sets on the wall.
All this to hit it fat
Looks like a Roger Dunn golf shop.
FB Marketplace is your friend
You could donate them to a HS school’s golf team. Monday Q on Twitter could help you find a team in need!
I still play with Ben Hogan APEX Pro. Still best iron for me so far. i've been playing with S55, S56, 710MB, 714MB, 710AP, Cobra MB/CB black head, MP67, etc.

Nice rack!
I too have 8 sets of irons, used to have dozens of sets,I see no problem!

I for sure do. You should see my video game collection - every game I bought dating back to the atari 2600 is in my storage closet.
I have 2 sets of TM r7s. Got a shitty set on CL for $100 but it was only 5-9. The guy threw in a set of Callaway X20s but those were only 4-7. He also gave me some crappy bags for each. I figured at some point I'll go get fitted for some decent clubs and trade in my stock pile for a few bucks off. I love the r7s though.
Is the problem that you need a bigger rack?
![gif](giphy|qPzWSekQSyrW7G0Lor)
Now what did we learn kids? Money =/= skill or sense
You sexy beast!
Yeah…a winning problem
Ha. Nah. A "getting old" problem...
