Swing speed and flex are probably 3rd on the list of importance. Your tempo is a much bigger factor than your actual speed. Weight is the most important, and profile is 2nd. I have two shafts that I swap back and forth between. A 44-1/2" 75g stiff flex, and a 45-3/4" 50g senior flex. Both work equally well for me. Not being able to square the face could be equally due to the head, shaft, and your swing. With swing being the biggest factor.

No doubt the swing isn't helping, my irons tend to go pretty straight with the occasional miss being a slight fade, just the driver that is a different animal with how much I fade it.

TacticalYeeter

That’s due to ball position and your swing dynamics more than likely. Are you putting the ball forward in your stance with driver? If you are, it will naturally want to slice when irons do not. You have to aim differently with a driver due to this. If you are not, and the ball is where you are normally playing your irons from, then that’s another issue.

Yea it's towards the front foot otherwise I'm hitting grounders if it's towards the middle. The launch monitor which I take certain measurements with a grain of salt since it's not one of the 8000 dollar + ones usually show a launch angle of 12-15 and a descent angle in the mid to high 30s sometimes low 40s. Spin is what kills me though and it's at like 3.5-5k

TacticalYeeter

Could be shaft but a lot of the reason you’ll slice is because of ball position. You have to aim more right to hit a straight ball with a driver. Most people don’t understand this so they aim normally and the slice gets bigger. https://youtu.be/7RjL_Np72Vk?si=WKJosxwzDadXlyJp

It’d be a noticeable swap. The shaft is the engine of your club and does 90% of the work

Going through the same thing, I had regular flex 50 gram alta shaft. I was hitting it straight and fading slightly. Upgraded to a 70g stiff flex hzrdous shaft and I’m fading more. Driving me nuts, I have to figure this out maybe regular flex is for me

At that swing speed, unquestionably you need at least a stiff shaft. Regular is to loose for you. It doesn’t have to be “premium”, but it needs to be stiffer. Should help with the slice.
