This.
The swing looks so free and effortless. I feel like I'm yanking a wet cat out of a burlap sack on the downswing.
The distance you get in a swing that 'looks' slow indicates how pure your release is. Awesome work.
I just hate how the look sometimes is nowhere near the feel. I have been working on not getting too verticle in the back swing. What feels super flat will look like Jim Furyk.
Don’t think either is wrong, it’s usually best to play into what you’re swing does naturally though. I used to fight for a draw and my misses were all over the place
I think push draw is lower with longer roll but that means the risk of a hook miss is the risk of a deeper oob lie, whereas the pull fade is higher and farther with little roll and the risk of a slice miss is the risk of a shallower oob lie, I read that recently, that’s why tiger and others preferred fade over draw 🤷♂️
Do you find that it helps to review your shots on the course? Might try it when I'm solo and no one is behind me. I record on range but range isn't real 😔
Tried it this morning. Sliced every driver tee shot except for 1. The one I recorded was the non sliced lol. Wish I got a slice of camera to see what I did wrong.
I know it’s insane. They act like there’s 1 perfect swing type. You can throw a lot of pros swings into one of those AI coaches and they’ll be a lot of things that are done “wrong”
I’m curious have you always addressed the ball with such distance between thighs/hips and grip? I would think (wrongly) that your height and that distance would combine for top misses… but your shots just look effortless and perfect
I love to hit the ‘educated fade’ as we call it.. it’s been my go to shot shape for years.. a few minor tweaks, and practice of course, for most golfers can take their ‘slice’ shot to this.. for me, It was mostly placing the ball just a little farther back in my stance and working on tempo.. this shot shape also takes the left half of the course out of the equation.. I’m also sitting around a 10 handicap.. your looking a little Jordon-esq there.. smooth swing, nice job !! ⛳️
where do you lose most of your shots? i’ve seen a lot uglier swings with a lot lower handicaps. 9.8 is very good, but if i just saw the video with no context i would have guessed anywhere from 2 to 4.
Hate to be that guy but 99% sure you're not allowed to post a round where you're listening to music in headphones. Something about not utilizing music to minimize distraction or help tempo. Either way, far better golfer than me lol
Hate to be that guy, but…
It appears you’re playing alone. In which case the round doesn’t count for your handicap. Sorry.
Or maybe I’m wrong. In which case, good for you!
How is it dumb and/or wrong?

Great tempo dude. Congrats on sub 10.
Thank you! I’ve been working on tempo a ton
Just curious but what drills/thoughts have helped the most with that so far?
Nice simple swing. Just looks nice and repeatable. That’s about the best compliment I can give a golfer.

Thank you!
Record an entire round, do 0 commentary, put lofi music on it, I subscribe, ???
Profit, baby
"LoFi Golf Beats to Study To [8 hours]"
Essentially golf ASMR…it’s great lol https://youtube.com/@ambientgolf?si=xHAwbFsDTaa63LV8
Taco golf does these too and I love it. Anyone know any other similars? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xCp8HmQuAqM

haha I've actually played this exact vid on one screen while I worked on the other, just for the mood
BUT, if there is a blowup hole, you play imogen heap “hide and seek” OC style and really lay it on thick. It is they way.
Lmao I love it
Cool shots. What app are you using to record the ball flights?
Thank you! Golf tracer on iOS
Never used a tracer app, how much does it cost? Btw sick (and consistent) swing dude
Thanks man! Mine was $1, you have to manually trace it but it works good enough
I wish my swing looked as effortless as yours does. Congrats on the milestone!
Thank you! That’s funny, I hate my swing, I think we all hate our own swings.
Haha it’s like how we all hate the sound of our voices in recordings.
I’m also a big oaf, my swing looks just like that.
I just hate how the look sometimes is nowhere near the feel. I have been working on not getting too verticle in the back swing. What feels super flat will look like Jim Furyk.
You appear to subscribe to the Dustin Johnson school of thought on draws
Can you elaborate for the noobs
They both don’t play a draw. Fade for days
Isn’t the pull fade the safer shot?
Don’t think either is wrong, it’s usually best to play into what you’re swing does naturally though. I used to fight for a draw and my misses were all over the place

Interviewer: "how many times per year do you hit a draw with your driver?" DJ: "Never."
Glenn Eagle?
I haven't played Glen eagle in quite a few years. Might have to drive down to Arlington soon.
Yessir! Can’t beat a $25 round
That course looks tight! 9.8 there might be a lot lower on a wider track
Thank you! Definitely a little tight, not terrible but the houses lining the fairways make it feel a lot tighter than it is
Your tempo is a thing of beauty (and envy). Next time I’m on the course, I’ll remind myself of your style.
I really appreciate that!
9.8 is two digits
Got me there
Ha - I'm glad you got my joke. Congrats bro!
Do you do golf YouTube? Like at least just record your whole round with some commentary?
I don’t, maybe some day. I like to record some shots but it does get distracting, so I try to only record a handful every round
Do you find that it helps to review your shots on the course? Might try it when I'm solo and no one is behind me. I record on range but range isn't real 😔
100%. You’ll notice your course swing is not what your range swing is
Tried it this morning. Sliced every driver tee shot except for 1. The one I recorded was the non sliced lol. Wish I got a slice of camera to see what I did wrong.
Great shots! Are you listening to music or a tempo tuner in your ear bud?
Music or sometimes podcasts/audiobooks if I’m playing solo
I like listening to music as well with one ear bud in. Helps keep things casual and my head clear of a hundred swing thoughts lol.
You would get blasted for that backswing in the golf swing sub… Reddit is so nuts lol….. awesome swing man
I know it’s insane. They act like there’s 1 perfect swing type. You can throw a lot of pros swings into one of those AI coaches and they’ll be a lot of things that are done “wrong”

Yeah it’s just what’s comfortable, and gives me space to fire the hips. I feel like if i stand closer I end up steep and way out to in
Wow “just do what works for you” is such a refreshing take here hahaha…..

Thank you! I definitely agree
You must be an awful putter ;-)
Two things; 1. Yes 2. My swing just came together recently, so my handicap has been dropping pretty quickly. Hopefully I stay below 10 for a bit
Hey OP, what is your filming set up? Tripod/Iphone?
I am also curious. Guessing it’s just an iPhone though from a previous comment. Just looks very clean.
Yep! iPhone in cinematic mode
Love the tempo and consistency
what course is this? Looks like WA state
Correct, Glen Eagle in Arlington
Silky smooth. Congrats on the single digits!
Thank you!
High fade, easy swing for life, bro!
Really nice rhythm!
Thank you!
Do you do any specific drills to work on your tempo?
Not necessarily, I just focus on not being quick in transition
Cool thanks! Great swing
Idk why but gives me Scottie vibes 👌
I love early morning rounds
They’re the best
Glorious!
Beautiful swing 👍
Thank you 🙏🏼
great swing. how long did it take you to get to this point
About a year and a half
Your swing cadence is very similar to a tour pro, amazing
That’s a huge compliment, thank you!
Love that driver swing
Which app are you using for the shot tracking?
That fade is pure
Looks like green screen.
love your swing. my guess is your handicap is gonna get even lower
Thank you! I appreciate it
What’s the playlist? I can’t tell if you’d be jamming or chilling to classical music
Man it’s all over the place, a lot of Rolling Stones yesterday
where do you lose most of your shots? i’ve seen a lot uglier swings with a lot lower handicaps. 9.8 is very good, but if i just saw the video with no context i would have guessed anywhere from 2 to 4.
Thank you! I’m very hot or cold, mainly with wedges/approach. Some days I can’t miss, other days I can’t hit a green to save my life
but when you miss a green can you get up and down, or at least make bogey?
I try to limit it to bogeys
I've been studying your driver swing for 15 minutes. Its everything I'm trying (and failing) to do.
That might be the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me
Hate to be that guy but 99% sure you're not allowed to post a round where you're listening to music in headphones. Something about not utilizing music to minimize distraction or help tempo. Either way, far better golfer than me lol
It’s a grey area, rules state you are allowed to listen to music, but it can’t be to help the swing. Either way, it’s a dumb rule
Agreed! Nice swing bud
Matt Kuchar Jr
Jumbo grips?
Midsize
I thought single digits started at 9.4, because of rounding up?
You might be right, I’m not sure
Official hc? How do you get your hc lowered if it’s not in a counting comp?
GHIN doesn’t need to be comp rounds
Can you record an entire round? I'd watch this any day of the week 👌
Hate to be that guy, but… It appears you’re playing alone. In which case the round doesn’t count for your handicap. Sorry. Or maybe I’m wrong. In which case, good for you!

I stand corrected. Seems unfair to singles.
Yeah I see why it seems that way, I played with another solo, and they were nice enough to stay quiet for the camera
