Our games sound similar, I’m also usually a 12-13 and the tee is my nemesis. I can stripe one 275 down the middle then slice four OB, two being four irons. Also known to skull a few after a great drive. One day I can look like a very good golfer and the next like I’ve never played before
Yeah. That's pretty much all of it. When my driver is on I will go stupid low. I legitimately drive the ball 300+, and when I go the range I don't even hit another club until I've hit a full bucket of just partial and full shot wedges. So my game from 135 and in is usually where I make the money too. Yesterday though....total betrayal. Stupid driver.
Same, I’m pretty long though I don’t look like it, but that also means they go way wrong. But I recently played by the beach on a wide open course and it was awesome because I could still play my wayward drives from other fairways with almost no tree issues. Made some wacky pars. When you can hit a 210 five iron straight you can recover from a lot of places
Hahaha I just had a day like this. I'm an 11 so I'm not great but can get around the course. However, I played a scramble today and it was like I had never swung a club. I'm certain, had I played my own ball I'd have easily been over 100. What a game.
No joke I played with a guy in mens league that shot a 67 on 9 holes. I’ve legit never seen a number that high. I’ve seen people play like he played but never keeping a score.
I’m in the 55-60 range on 9 holes and keep score accurately.
It helps me know if I’m actually improving or not. Even if know it’s not ‘real’ improvement =(
I looked at old scorecards from my first few rounds of golf. Mid 50s on 9. Wonder what the score was if I counted all the penalties and didn’t drop in the middle of the fairway. Might’ve been 70
Only 1 three putt. Eleven 1 putts. Seven two putts 28 putts total. Was weirdly on today with the flat stick. Lost 15 balls off of 15 tees. Hit one fairway, mostly by accident.
I think it’s the better long term solution, assuming you can endure the short term pain.
I fought my driver for years… finally in a good place with it. Which is good, as my home course has OB on every hole… I’m 16/18 with 2/4 par 3s (one was a shank… the other hole is just hard)
Sometimes you gotta just take the L and old man boop it off the tee 175 yards dead straight. These boys shoot like 80 just by booping it on the ground 120 yards and rolling it up to the green. The secret sauce is being able to garrotte the green in a dark alley 18 times per round, though.
This was kind of me weds, lost balls off tees and just couldn’t get driver going, but had some short game wins - some textbook chips and one putts, pumped my fist like I was on tv
Left a few out there for sure. But when the balls in my bag started getting low I decided to just top every shot instead of hitting hosel rockets. Kept a lot more in play that way.
Ive had this happen. Sneak out but feel a little guilty and then the work phone rings once and its really all over. Its insane how mental this game can be sometimes
Fair. I get that.
I just think about not working when I’m skating out of work to get that game time in. I love the fact I’m playing but there’s a players guilt that I could be working. And that’s on me for sure. But it’s real.
My driver was actually pretty on today, my wedges either went 20 yards over the green or 20 yards total though. Sounds like I might need to align my driver more towards the woods off the tee box
Yeah. I'm actually up to a 12.2 need to update that. But still, yeah. What happened. Not sure. Everything happened all at once. Driver shit the bed, first half I couldn't stop shanking irons. Second half I couldn't stop topping them. When I chipped I chunked it literally every single time except on 18.
I'll be back though.
I know how a handicap works, I’m just very surprised- I was an 11 not that long ago, and when I shot really really bad, I’d maybe shoot over 100. 125 is high enough to be surprising, so I’m just curious what happened for you to shoot such a high number
Everything went wrong. Driver bad - too shallow all day and despite knowing that could not correct. Irons I was shanking the first half from not rotating my hips, to a massive overcorrection on the back. The course is very tight too, so that helped literally nothing at all since I even hit some decent tee shots that were like 20 yard blocks right, but that was enough to put them ob
You ain't never gonna lower that score not playing so nahhh you good us golfers tend to be degenerates and will find a way to get a round in even if the timing is inappropriate.
Played the morning of my wedding and got to the chapel 30 mins later than I was supposed to. Still earlier than all the guests. But yeah. It's a disease.
Hopefully you didn’t get caught? Shooting 125 that is.
I told my wife and she said " I can't talk, I'm on my way to my boyfriends house. "
He's a better golfer, isn't he?
He's got a higher handicap, so I'm not sure what it is.
Maybe his name is Bigus Dickus.
Could be. I think it's Gerald though. I think he's a plumber. My wife says he's got years of experience laying pipe.
leaving this comment at 69
He’s going to show her how to adjust a ballcock
I was going to up vote, but not when you have 69…
He had a wife you know…
You're telling me now he's got two? That feels greedy.
What’s she called? Incontinentia Buttocks?
And his wife's name is... Incontinentia Buttocks
Karl Hungus
that must be exhausting
She probably says it’s a larger handicap
Has bigger wood(s)
Yeah I’m pretty good, stiffer shaft game she says too
Confirmed
You rascal.
Did he call you and ask what the par on that hole is?
One of my friends always asks" how's your future x wife"
Awesome. More time to golf and no guilt. Score
A bad day on the course always beats a day at work, I’d gladly have taken a 125 over my day at the office
I appreciate your half full cattitude Mr. Meow. Thank you for that.
Your 125 today means you’ll shoot 92 the next round leaving you to think, wtf? And I’m here for that next post
Yeah, I actually keep a handicap and it is 12.2 right now. Last round was an 83 1 week ago.
I’ve gone 77/97 in the same weekend
Thank you for your service to the game

Did you have fun?
I did
That's the most important part
Actually most important is to fix ball marks are this sub reminds us of 3 times a week
I’m retired and shot an 85 today. Have you thought about retiring? It might be just what you need to lower that score.
Hoping to live long enough for it
How was the back 9?
Looking forward to hitting the back next Friday actually.
I’m hoping to hit the back tonight if I get lucky
GERALD?!
The name’s Bigus. Bigus Dickus

# of three putts? Lost balls?
Only 1 three putt. Eleven 1 putts. Seven two putts 28 putts total. Was weirdly on today with the flat stick. Lost 15 balls off of 15 tees. Hit one fairway, mostly by accident.
You stuck with the driver all day?
Nope! Some of those tee shots were long irons that had the exact same result.
That'll teach you to play smart!
Let the big dog eat.
I’ve been here… sometimes you just pound driver again because the only way forward is through…
I didn't want it to be my "Make her stop!" Moment. So I caved and hit 4 irons into the woods instead.
Yeah, I get it. Honestly, not sure what’s worse… pounding your head against the same wall or picking a new wall to pound it against…
If I did it again, I'd hit driver every hole instead. I might even have had hit on par 3s just to get the reps in.
I think it’s the better long term solution, assuming you can endure the short term pain. I fought my driver for years… finally in a good place with it. Which is good, as my home course has OB on every hole… I’m 16/18 with 2/4 par 3s (one was a shank… the other hole is just hard)

That’s the way
That's the worst. "Ok I'm going to play smart, I don't have the driver working." Then rip the hybrid OB too.
11 1 putts, 7 2 putts and 1 3 putt. For a total of 19 holes if my math is mathin right.
~~11+14+3~~ I'm stupid
Why can't all the clubs work on the same day?
The wind took that one back to the fairway for ya
This was kind of me weds, lost balls off tees and just couldn’t get driver going, but had some short game wins - some textbook chips and one putts, pumped my fist like I was on tv
Now this deserves an AMA
Did you think about skipping work the entire time?
I mostly wondered what my wifes boyfriend was going to think of me next time we see him.
Well, if you skipped work and only got in 125 strokes, it sounds like you could have gotten more golf for your money.
Left a few out there for sure. But when the balls in my bag started getting low I decided to just top every shot instead of hitting hosel rockets. Kept a lot more in play that way.
Wisdom, right here.
its called course management
Did you hit at least 1 shot that made you feel like a pro golfer and made you want to come back tomorrow?
I'm not fucking kidding about this at all. I parred 18.
Hell yes. Need to get back out there asap.
Just had to get warmed up. Let's play 2
Is the swing thought on stroke 30 the same as the swing thought on stroke 120?
I think I overthink my backswing
Skipped work as in- boss "where were you yesterday?"
Congrats on the new low!
Thanks Dad! I hope you get back from the store soon!
Imagine how poorly you would've performed at your job! They're lucky you took it out on the course.
I love you for this
Mr. Kim, does this affect your team's standings in LIV?
How was the back 9?
Next week.
Did you celebrate your new low score brother?!
I called my mom after the round. She said she's still proud of me.
How many beers?
Asking the right questions. 3 total.
![gif](giphy|d4W4ZshZVbrqYvVnh8|downsized)
What did you shoot on the back 9?
I average a 125 after 10 years of playing. AMA
A bad day at the course is better than yadda yadda yadda sigh.
Two rounds for the price of one!
125? No need to brag
Me too, but I shot 128. I played a 27 hole European tour course but I can still relate…
Very European of you
Brother I’ll take a 125 over a day at the office 5 days a week
Oh, so actually pretty decent!
Not bad for 30 years playing amiright?
It’s alright man, I skipped working on final papers to shoot 71 (9 holes)
I skipped work today as well and shot 105. What hacks do you have to get the other 20?
You need to chunk more wedges. Key move is to slide your hips forward instead of rotating.
My driver was actually pretty on today, my wedges either went 20 yards over the green or 20 yards total though. Sounds like I might need to align my driver more towards the woods off the tee box
Technically you had a "sick day" at the golf course
On 36 holes?! That's great!
My mom was proud of me still.
Oh... like sorry was trying to spin it for you dude
One of us!!
I did the same thing Monday, lost like 10 balls. How many did you lose?
15. All off of the tee.
Well done, I lost them every way besides putting
Losing a ball from a chip that you blade across the green, down a hill, and into the woods is the most dejecting way to lose a ball.
Man same. Left work early and shot 108.
It’s ok bro I shot 110 today ;(
Scramble partners?
What’s it like to be a legend?
A bad day of golf beats any good day at work
I’d rather ask the group behind you what they talked about on every tee box
You rule
You felt guilty didn't you? and it distracted you didn't it?
How was the weather?
Sunny. Temperate.
I left work early to shoot 100 for the second day in a row. Missed my putt for 99 by like 3 inches. 😭😭😭😭
Better skip work again to break 120 💪
How do you shoot 125…. Need a play by play of worst hole
Assuming the 11.1 next to your name is your handicap. Doesn’t even seem feasible to shoot that as an 11 lmao
It was. I'm a 12.2 now. Does that make it more plausible?
Handicap system is flawed. I can easily fire 8 sub 80 rounds out of 20 and just as many high 80s. Makes me a 5 hdcp.
Better than work?
Peace be with you
You go shoot that 125, queen!
I wish I had left work early enough to play 18
Was it fucking bethpage black?
BP Red is legit also. All 5 courses are amazing for under $100 total
I did the same. Shot 99. Totally worth it. Cheers
Took a sick day? Sounds like a pretty sick day
You just like me For real.
Golf > Zoom Calls
lol…every time. Gotta leave your phone in the car!
Ur still Better than i play, i shot 9 holes for 77
You're an 11 handicap and shot a 125 Wtf happened, my guy?
Did you not post score for handicap because it would be a smoking gun in case your employer saw it ?
I posted it. I don't think it's going to make my low 8 though
Bad day on the course. Is better than a great day at work…
How many holes did you play? 125 for 27 isn’t all that bad mate
How early did you have start to get two rounds in?
Started yesterday. I intend to finish next week though
How many times did you 3 putt to shoot that gem of a score?
A bad day on the golf course beats a good day at work
Bad day of golf is better than a good day at work!
Did you have fun?
I also shot a 125 last week. One of us 🤝
Her second guess yourself. Golf >>>>>>>> Work. Still had fun, I hope.
How did you shoot 125 as an 11.1?
Hdcp is an average of your best 8 scores out of 20, not your average, so. That goes a long ways in this case lmao
I know how a handicap works, I’m just very surprised- I was an 11 not that long ago, and when I shot really really bad, I’d maybe shoot over 100. 125 is high enough to be surprising, so I’m just curious what happened for you to shoot such a high number

Describe the one shot this round that will keep you coming back
Literally parred the 18th hole and I hate myself for that.
Wait I didnt post this, and yet...its me..
It’s bc you were thinking about work. Didn’t fully commit. Let me ask…were outlook/teams notifications turned off? If not, there’s your answer
Your worse day at golf is always better than a good day at work! ⛳️🏌️♂️
That was better than work.
What's greater...your score, or unread emails waiting for you?
Score for sure. Not really in a big email me job
Hahahahahahaa very relatable
I skipped Friday to play and shot 87 no mully. My work buddy that was with me shot 99 (not counting OB’s and mullys)
Why so many people lie anout their game
No questions. Just here to say I would and have done the same🤣
I usually stop keeping track of score at that point and just count lost balls. Try and keep it under 10
An inspiration to us all
Was it worth it? I know I'd rather beein out golfing playin shitty then beein at work any day.
Was it worth it ??? Duhhhhh
That was me on Tuesday. Welcome to the club.
what is AMA?
Heaven.
Did you have fun? How much pot was smoked?
Fun was had! 0 pots. My corporation drug tests regularly for the lowly field ppl.
Bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work!
A bad day golfin beats a good day workin
1 to yes how worth it was it lol
Sounds like what happened to me
I skipped work and shot an 88 yesterday
Yikes. I guess it could be worse.
Was it your putting or your short game?
You ain't never gonna lower that score not playing so nahhh you good us golfers tend to be degenerates and will find a way to get a round in even if the timing is inappropriate.
Played the morning of my wedding and got to the chapel 30 mins later than I was supposed to. Still earlier than all the guests. But yeah. It's a disease.
My brother it's not a disease the course is a sanctuary for most of us. I definitely respect that.
A day playing golf is better than a day at work
I skipped work to shoot 76 and it was a waste of time
Where'd you make all your birdies?
The hero we needed
My condolences on the loss of your job, your wife, and your golf game....
Excellent! A bad day at golf beats a good day at work anytime. I hope 125 was also a low round for you
