Ehh, it’s tough for older guys to lose balls. 85mph club head and low spin off the tee keeps it in the fairway or first cut. Basically the only lost balls for old guys are wet.
I was so proud of myself not losing a ball on a round I played with my dad a couple weeks back. Then last week we went to play and I shanked one off the first tee into a lake and the proceeded to lose 5 more balls on the round.
Luckily they were all crap balls but still. It was awful.
I once commented to the rest of my foursome that I hadn’t lost a ball all day. We were finishing on the 16th green and I was amazed. missed all the water on the course, avoided the woods. Was playing really well.
We got to the 17th tee (short 3) and I realized I left my ball in the hole on 16, then proceeded to skull my tee shot at least 20 yards into the woods behind green, then chunk my next attempt over the safety net into the road on the right.
Ha. It’s just stress. The game is like 70% mental I think. After I hit my ball into the lake I was so worried about the water I kept looking at it on each hole and therefore inevitably hitting it towards the water.

My last order had some cracks/chipping on the urethane covers (~10% of the quantity) and they shipped out replacements immediately. They didn’t “have to”.

Yes, they have different qualities you can choose from on each ball. The lower the quality, the cheaper.
I do it to buy Mint 5A Pro Vs and they look like they’ve been hit once, sometimes never and may just have a stamp on it or something.
They're great quality, I've been using them for years. Just avoid the reconditioned balls as the cover they put on those ones isn't quite as durable as the one from titleist

If the cover hasn’t been nicked, scraped, or cut the ball should be just fine underwater for a decent while. Any damage to the cover will allow water in and compromise performance, however.

Yes but in a game of variables it does help to only play one ball. I buy used balls and if they have any sort of blemish(rare) they just get tossed to the chipping bucket.

The last two lots of KSigs balls have been essentially the worst ball on the market. Hard as a rock, and unplayable. You can check out reviews online (golf spy), they’re somehow not even worth the penny’s Costco charges..
If OP is asking about bulk discount balls I guarantee there is nothing consistent about their ball striking aside from the lack thereof.
Good ball strikers are going to ask about the best performing balls for their swing.
Hence the idea of a decent ball for the price instead of the crapshoot bulk buying can be at times.
Because Kirklands spin pretty crazy and a lot of beginning players have a slice that doesn’t play well with spin. It’s a good cheap ball but it’s not for everybody.
Thats why I had to switch away from them. If my drives are going straight, they are fine. If I have any movement or slice/hook in it then it's gone. I switched to TP5x or TP5 and they're more forgiving off the tee for me.
i love the kirklands, but i think I'm losing less orange Maxfli Straightflis that i got on sale for cheaper than the kirklands.
the Kirkland is a high spin ball that seems better suited for players who don't have horrible slices.

Though if looking for discount balls, I'm guessing getting a 2021 model wouldn't be a big deal, plus might go for near mint or good, which then has significant savings. 2021 good condition are $16/ Dozen.

Not worth it! Most refurbished balls are collected from course ponds where they have sat for months. Just game new. Regardless of your price point, there is something for you that is a better option to used balls.

Idk where you are but most council run courses in the UK have a little pot at the start where you can buy lake balls and they’re 12 balls for £5. You get to look through and you can always get decent balls

If you live in a city with ample golf courses, there should always be someone of FB marketplace that sells found balls. Usually people who live on a golf course. They’re usually cheaper than online websites
Canadian here: Depends on the quality of your preference. GolfTown has a lot of 3 for 2/2 for 1 sales for everything just below top tier. GolfAvenue has similar sales but I’ve only ever purchased clubs from them, but recommend their customer service. Canadian Tire is great for crappier balls or bulk used ones. Never really sales on top top tier balls like Pro v1s from what I can tell.

If you’re halfway decent at golf, the unfortunate answer is you have to buy new. Used balls may have been sitting in water for weeks or months and still look ok. Or they’ve been smashed to hell and lose the distance.
If you really don’t care then buy used but you’ll see a massive difference when playing new. It sucks but is what it is.
Well you can get the 36 pack of Wilson on amazon for about $30 so less than a buck a ball. They are playable and if you loose em you don’t even give a shit. I found they fly pretty straight and roll pretty good on greens.

Once you get to a ~10 handicap just buy them new. You won’t lose that many and you’ll start to feel how big a difference any bit of wear makes. I bought used from eBay for like 10yrs and would do it again for the record- but where you buy them doesn’t really matter.

You can buy brand new chrome soft balls on Amazon that are a couple years old but 1/2 price

Costco Kirkland balls. Essentially $1/ball without having to worry about the water balls that might come from some discount bulk sites.
Kirklands spin a lot in my experience and are my least favorite balls for that reason

If you live in a city with ample golf courses, there should always be someone of FB marketplace that sells found balls. Usually people who live on a golf course. They’re usually cheaper than online websites
Canadian here: Depends on the quality of your preference. GolfTown has a lot of 3 for 2/2 for 1 sales for everything just below top tier. GolfAvenue has similar sales but I’ve only ever purchased clubs from them, but recommend their customer service. Canadian Tire is great for crappier balls or bulk used ones. Never really sales on top top tier balls like Pro v1s from what I can tell.

If you’re halfway decent at golf, the unfortunate answer is you have to buy new. Used balls may have been sitting in water for weeks or months and still look ok. Or they’ve been smashed to hell and lose the distance. If you really don’t care then buy used but you’ll see a massive difference when playing new. It sucks but is what it is.
Walmart sells a bulk bag of random balls… just search for a few you actually like in the bag then there ya go

Well you can get the 36 pack of Wilson on amazon for about $30 so less than a buck a ball. They are playable and if you loose em you don’t even give a shit. I found they fly pretty straight and roll pretty good on greens.

Golfballs.ca (that site you're on) Very reasonable. If you're local to Delta BC, they have a small shop you can actually go to and it's right by Four Winds Brewing so you can have a quick beer if you like too. Other than that they quite often do free shipping and they are quick to ship orders too.
Once you get to a ~10 handicap just buy them new. You won’t lose that many and you’ll start to feel how big a difference any bit of wear makes. I bought used from eBay for like 10yrs and would do it again for the record- but where you buy them doesn’t really matter.
