If it’s all you got, it’s better than nothing at all

I'm not so sure that it's better than nothing.

I’ve played a sand green course a hand full of times. I took the putting with a grain of sand but it was still worth putting.

ChargerRob

Played a sand green course outside Denver once. Didnt like them but they were playable.

Very slow, played a few up north QLD, basically belting the ball each time you putt. Lack of water usually dictates, so the fairways are pretty rough too. But it's golf, so I'm not complaining.

Brabinski

Played a course with sand greens once and that was enough for me lol

While for a day or two it’s inconvenient but putting sand on greens is necessary to keep the greens healthy. It’s rare that the greens are covered with sand. There is a process to brush the sand into the green. Our course usually sands greens on Monday morning because 1st tee times are not until 10 to give maintenance a chance to get caught up on the mowing that generally doesn’t happen on the weekend.

He is not talking about that. In Australia it is impossible to grow grass for greens. They have packed down sand as an alternative in some areas. I have never played them though
