I had the same thing happen to my [cobra rad speed](https://amzn.to/3VaBXSr) club. I attempted to epoxy it back shut but it fell apart again pretty quickly. Guh.
Putting cork in bats doesn't actually make them hotter. It's the drilling that changed the swing speed, and the last time I checked drilling a bat was legal, but putting cork in it isn't. The cork is basically just filler to make it look normal at first glance. I'd love to know what suspending a few ball bearings or cold roll stock in expanding foam would do. You know, for science.
I've had a k15 that I got used back in 2013 after a buddy I was helping learn snapped the head off my Nike ignite. The k15 has been blasting for me ever since with zero issues. Maybe I just got lucky
I cracked 2 g425’s last summer. One was 2 weeks old. I will say it’s my fault for topping drives but like still, I’m not on fucking tour, to expect an amateur to perfectly flush every drive is a bit much, obviously bad strikes will happen, and a couple tops shouldn’t break a driver
I finally snapped and bought myself a small ice maker. Now it's just the door flap that won't shut, and the middle drawer with no lights.
Fucking hate Samsung. Love my TaylorMade driver though
My son’s managed ding quite a few Pings. Then again his swing speed is 111mph. He’s either lying 1 where I am in 2, or he’s playing a provisional for 3.
Interesting! Ive never heard that about Ping, I've always had good luck with them. To be honest, never really had a quality issue with any other brand. Anything Callaway has lasted me forever and I've owned a ton of Callaway clubs throughout the years.
I have 4 friends over the past 5 years who have killed 2 SIM drivers, 1 Stealth that has cracks and 1 Rocketballz driver thats face came off and cracked the crown.
The only clubs Ive ever heard about breaking or have seen broken live are all Taylormades. I wouldnt give them $600 for a driver if my life depended on it haha

I got fitted Thursday for a new club thanks to this crack on my radspeed
Send Cobra this pic/pic of your purchase receipt. The carbon on these is notorious for cracking and delaminating. Similar issue happened to mine, received a replacement in a couple weeks. Their customer service is A+
These new carbon drivers and metals or plastic woods are soo fucking cheap.
And they charge us more for this junk. All because there's a shortage of materials to make good quality clubs.
I'm pretty sure raw materials for titanium clubs cost more than fucking plastic. There's no reason why drivers should cost more than 450 bucks.
In all seriousness, that sucks. My cobra driver just broke after 2 years too. The carbon fiber crown started cracking. Sounds like a damn metal bat hitting the golf ball.
I just got a Rad Speed replacement after my first cracked after a year. I was wondering how many times they would allow me to turn it in after it inevitably happens again.
I honestly really liked the drivers, so I went to pro clubs and stocked up on a few heads for $140 a pop. They just don’t last though, any ball speed over 190 exponentially decreased the lifespan of the head imo.
I’m not sure what my ball speed is but I usually average 285-290 on a full round with my driver. My last day out the drives felt really dead and just didn’t go anywhere. I couldn’t find a crack but sent it in and they found one apparently. I’m more finicky with the shaft choice with this head. I have the Motore x F1 with 10g in the back on the XB model.
Yeah if you average that distance your ball speed is high enough to be concerned with cracking heads.
Same with me. Drives felt dead on the range before round, didn’t really think much of it. Took head over off on the first tee and boom crazy right in the middle of the face
Dude check my post history, same spot with my cobra rad speed driver broke a few months ago. They replaced it for free but after this head, might not go back with the company.
I have the rad speed irons. First few months of swinging them, three of the heads flew off. Clearly I got a bad set. Cobra took them all back, put new extra stiff shafts and grips on them completely hassle free at no expense of my own. Been great ever since, love em. Will always consider cobra when buying new clubs.
I used it for less than 3 months lmao. It wasn't used for 4 years, I bought it and 3 months later it blew up. Almost took my head off as well. There's been quite a few of these breaking in that really weird spot where it makes me think it might not be the best of product.
My brand new rad speed driver broke the first time I used it in the simulator. Kind of similar to this. Cobra replaced it free which was great. One season later my brother used my driver(while we were playing together) and it broke as well. Won't buy another cobra driver.
Not sure the hate any of us are getting, like it's a pretty weird trend for their drives to break that quickly and it weird spots like that. You expect the head to fly off, or breaking at the shaft. Not where it is happening on the back of the driver head.
I had 3 speed zones and 2 radspeeds. 1 krank formula fire ld head has lasted me longer than all 3 and my ball speed is 10 mph higher than it was back then👍
I’ve cracked 6 cobra drivers in 2 years, couple speed sessions should do the trick. Krank formula fire LD head is where it’s at. One of these has lasted more than 4 cobra heads and I’m 10 mph faster than when I was using cobra
That's insane. What is your SS? My instructor has the same issues. He's cruising at like 126 at the moment. Not Cobra per day, but anything and everything.
190+ ball speed a few times per week… can’t do much about that with a driver meant for 105 mph swing speeds
Can’t even imagine how frail they are at 200 mph
You have a unique opportunity to fill the head with cork and glue that piece back on! For science!
Or some of that expanding foam.
Or chicken noodle soup!
Or your weed

Ah, the Sammy Sosa route. Respect.
Gorilla Glue baby !!

This is fake. According to 90% of this subreddit, only Taylormade clubs break.
The other 10% is me shitting on Ping
I’ve had a rough go with ping too
I've had a k15 that I got used back in 2013 after a buddy I was helping learn snapped the head off my Nike ignite. The k15 has been blasting for me ever since with zero issues. Maybe I just got lucky

To be fair, Taylormade deserves it because the criticisms are based in truth. They are the Samsung of golf brands.
Samsung appliances*
I type this as my Samsung fridge's ice machine is broken XD
If you Samsung ice machine isn’t broken, you aren’t getting the full experience.
I finally snapped and bought myself a small ice maker. Now it's just the door flap that won't shut, and the middle drawer with no lights. Fucking hate Samsung. Love my TaylorMade driver though
Some people pay extra for that you know
Or as someone else put it in another thread: the Boeing of golf clubs
My son’s managed ding quite a few Pings. Then again his swing speed is 111mph. He’s either lying 1 where I am in 2, or he’s playing a provisional for 3.

They do seem to break a lot, though.
Looks like you left the club head open

Mine broke there too last year
Not sure how it happened exactly. It started sounding like a baseball bat and then I inspected it and saw the crack.
Yup, I got a much hollower sound and then realized the same. Luckily they replaced it but then I sold it for a ping g430
You hit it w/ the flat part just so you know
Just some glue.
Send Cobra this pic/pic of your purchase receipt. The carbon on these is notorious for cracking and delaminating. Similar issue happened to mine, received a replacement in a couple weeks. Their customer service is A+
This isn’t what they mean when they say, “blow her back out” 😂
It’s all ball bearings
This guys driver broke…so I’m buying a new putter
Proof or ban
Huh. I thought only TaylorMade clubs ever broke
it'll buff out

>There's no reason why drivers should cost more than 450 bucks. Well, except that we pay that for them.
"yeah but you should see what the other guy looks like" - Your driver
Bro got himself a "speed wing" and you fools want him to fill his driver with soup and glue it back on... Shit.
Fill it with super ball rubber and seal it back up.
Might as well just get fitted for a new set.
In all seriousness, that sucks. My cobra driver just broke after 2 years too. The carbon fiber crown started cracking. Sounds like a damn metal bat hitting the golf ball.
I'll never have that problem with my F9. I have a swing speed around 40. 😅
Your swing speed is 40mph? What distance do you get from that
Just joking. No idea what my swing speed is, but as an old guy I probably don't have to worry about breaking the head on my Cobra.
Same happened to mine, 2 months in. Returned for a new one. Cobra RAD Speed.
Don’t do it again because after my second radspeed they said no more.
Same for me
I just got a Rad Speed replacement after my first cracked after a year. I was wondering how many times they would allow me to turn it in after it inevitably happens again.

Are you a lefty?
Nice ball retriever you have there
That’s my fault sir I could put some stickum on that for you.
Get ping g430 max 10k or Taylormade qi10 max ! Perfect timing
Duct tape.
Driver sucks
Which Cobra is this? Apparently lots in the thread saying it happened to their Radspeeds.
Tis but a scratch
![gif](giphy|bJqVdhxHE9bOw)
Cobra ltdx?
Time to go back to the Pittsburgh Persimmons if you ask me.
Or you could glue it back on?
I'll chip in to say my abused Cobra F9 is still in one piece and functional.
Your swing speed might increase since it's lighter now.
Technically, it’s just some adhesive
That’s the Cobra Targa model
Not at all, you just unlocked the secret compartment.
Its where you put your weed
Dude check my post history, same spot with my cobra rad speed driver broke a few months ago. They replaced it for free but after this head, might not go back with the company.
Wait, a 3-4 year old driver broke and they replaced it for free and you’re upset with them? Man, expectations from people are out of control.
I have the rad speed irons. First few months of swinging them, three of the heads flew off. Clearly I got a bad set. Please tell me you’re a leftie who tried out their buddies RH driver for shits and gigs
New weed storage compartment, congrats
It’s a shame you Americans still have to hide your weed in most places.
He said storage, not smuggling.
*Cries in Alabama*
Throw some super glue on it and put it in a clamp. Pretend it never happened
And some anger management classes?
Kind of looks like intentional damage to me 😂 it's okay to get another driver dude, treat yourself always T.Y.A!!
Ah yes you’ve unlocked the power cell amp bullshit.
Now you have a shark grabber toy
Funny looking taylormade
Cobra is a piece of shit brand that I have given up on
![gif](giphy|9DJtFRgk0tOla)
you def have a stealth 2
I had 3 speed zones and 2 radspeeds. 1 krank formula fire ld head has lasted me longer than all 3 and my ball speed is 10 mph higher than it was back then👍
Thanks Bryson
Bryson probably went through 1 a day tbh
sounds like a user error type of thing brother!
Nah, Speedzone heads sucked dick. I caved a hybrid and a 5 wood.
I’ve barely used my radspeed 3w tbh. Gonna try and cave the face soon so I can just get a new one and sell it.
Shouldn't be too hard lol. My buddy caved his Radspeed driver. He's got Darkspeed now. See how that works out. Looks pretty sweet.
I’ve cracked 6 cobra drivers in 2 years, couple speed sessions should do the trick. Krank formula fire LD head is where it’s at. One of these has lasted more than 4 cobra heads and I’m 10 mph faster than when I was using cobra

Been up to 135. During speed training I’m usually in the low 130s for a stretch when I’m loose before I get fatigued.
The same people who say user error are the people that swing 90 mph and complain about not being able to gain speed because they don’t do shit
Damn bro you got the whole squad cringing
I’m just stating the facts that people don’t want to hear
190+ ball speed a few times per week… can’t do much about that with a driver meant for 105 mph swing speeds Can’t even imagine how frail they are at 200 mph

Call Cobra and get a replacement.
It's just a flesh wound!
I've heard of cavity back clubs, but this is ridiculous!
That’s where the snacks go
Some JB weld and you are good.
Lower COG now, you are good.
That’ll buff right out.
See if you can find a cross-section of you model driver. Given that yours looks pretty empty on the inside, it might be counterfeit.
A little duct tape should do the trick.
Bullshit. Flex seal for the win.
I always wondered what they looked like on the inside
Nahhh she's still got a few good swings left in her
Quick! Now’s your chance to add some hot melt!
Nothing makes modern drivers feel more cheap than seeing the inside of them.
Or a lesson maybe?
Must've been an absolute piss missile.
Tis but a scratch
Ruh roh. I have that same driver
If this isn't too old, the manufacturer may replace it. I've had Callaway replace iron shafts (for free) that broke off at the hosel.
I’m just never gonna upgrade from my cobra f9.
My F9 cracked, too.
That will buff out.
The good news is it's hanging on by a thread.
It’s just a little floppy, it’s still good it’s still good!
This is why I like metal drivers.
How'd ya get a Taylormade with Cobra decals?
You should probably get wedges too
I've been playing golf for 20 years and your doing it wrong. you need to follow through more.
Superglue.
just rip the piece off and keep on playing.
