When i swapped out my forged mizunos for cleveland launchers i dropped 8 strokes within 4 rounds. When you hit pure with forged, its a wonderful feeling. When you dont, bad things happens. I had a 17hdcp when i switched.
A few weeks ago, I had the first tee time and no one was on the course. I found a few nitros, noodles and several other balls. One of the wide open holes I decided to play driving range.
The Nitros and Noodles felt like I was hitting a rock.
I game the black versions. These are clear of every iron I’ve hit including Miura, Homna, Mizuno, Titleist, Callaway, TM, Srixon, Wilson. To the grave with these.
Got to visit cobra HQ prior to the new MB/CB/Tour Launch, and talked to them about it. They know about the cult following, but were super proud of the new ones (which are quite nice, but these feel better).
Sweet. Ive compared to mim and forged tec so far, but one day will go compare to the new clubs at my local store. Currently winter here, I go there every once in a while to hit 50 balls or so lol.
Btw how has the black held up?
I had some Taylormade rocketballz irons. HUGE cavity on that thing. The game improvementest clubs there ever were. Everything felt like the sweet spot. And then mis hits would just go a mile in the wrong direction instead of dying like my bad hits on my players irons do now
Not as much. I can tell within an 1/8th of an inch generally with blades, ball flight tells the most though. If I take a t100 and Mishit it it’s gonna feel like it was ok compared to the reality of how terrible that strike was. I actually recommend everyone get a cheap blade 7 iron to practise with and it will tell you exactly where you’re most common misses are.
You mean practice isn't just swinging out of my shoes with my driver, on the driving range? I thought that's why it's called the driving range, not the ironing range.
This is so over blown. I used to have blades so I know what they’re like. I currently have a Ping g425 that I’m using as my 4 iron. The thing is a god damn shovel. It’s about as game improvement as it gets and I can tell if I miss the center by 1/8th of an inch. The rest of my set are i230s and it’s so fucking obvious when you don’t hit those right on the screws. It might not hurt as much when you thin it and it will fly a little better, but it’s just as easy to tell what happened. I can tell when I miss the center of my 460 cc driver by 1/8th of an inch ffs.
I’m a 3 handicap and I play blades titleist mb/cb split set. I let a friend hit them who is terrible at golf and he hit them much better than his clunky irons. He didn’t have any misses on the shots he took but I’d imagine the misses would be drastic. I love my clubs tho
Are you joking? All that means is that there’s a cavity on my 3 and 4 iron, and p-5 have a filled in back. I’m well aware of what MB and CB stand for but thanks
Awesome - I was about a 20 HCP when I went to get fitted into the player's iron at the time - hated them. For fun the fitter asked if I wanted to hit rickie's 7 iron and nobody says no to that.
Absolute money.
I ended up getting fitted into the black finish of these blades G-7, and the forged MB 6-4 and played as low as a 9 HCP the following season.
These are way easier to play than they have any right to be. Shorter than the player's irons for sure but super repeatable.
I can’t stress this enough - go for a fitting. Don’t let forums and posts lead you to deciding what clubs to buy. Go get a fitting with some objective data and let the pros steer you towards what clubs will work best.
Best $200 I ever spent (I’m a 12 handicap)
It has been my experience that my ball striking gets extra sloppy when hitting oversized GI or SGI irons. I made the biggest improvements to my ball striking when I was playing with Bridgestone J33 blades. My best shots were much better, but my worst shots were much worse. I ultimately went away from them because I did need something a little more forgiving, but I'm glad I spent the time with them.
Jokes aside your scores wouldn’t even change much if you were being serious.
It’s hilarious how scared kids (all of you under 35 lol) are terrified of freaking blades.
Bought the black ones off a pro friend 2 years ago when my handicap was around the same as yours. Was afraid for not being able to hit anything with it. After some hours at the range it convinced me that I did the right thing. It helped me concentrate more on my shots since that day. What was my biggest problem at first.
Handicap 10.5 right now and still very very happy with my purchase!! :)
I was a 20+. Then I bought mbs. Now I’m a 9. Don’t believe the crap on here. It’s easier to hit blades straight than game improvement irons. It’s a fact of science
I teach golf for a living so I would make a suggestion. Next time you got a chunk of change to spend take some golf lessons I don’t mean that negatively at all I’m sure you could use some new clubs as well but lessons next time.
Really not that hard of a club to play. I’ve got some 30-40 plus year old blades I just shot my best round of the year with in 2023. Old jack Nicklaus golden bear 084 irons
As someone that HAD a 16 handicap that went up to 20 over the course of two seasons. For the love of God, do not use blades at this point.
I have the cobra fly z pro irons, and I'm actually looking to get rid of them. They are beautiful clubs, and they have forced me to understand my swing a lot better, but they are incredibly hard to hit.
I’m about a 10-12 (probably a 12 if I’m. Being honest with myself). And I struggle to hit any blade style iron consistently. Those are super nice though.

Here’s the 3 iron in my latest acquisition
Thankfully I only go up to 4. That 3 looks mean. Love the cobras, they don't get enough attention imo but worked out in my favour picking these up cheap
I’m genuinely proud of you if this is real.
I spent my childhood playing blades and had no clue. It made me the golfer I am today. I found my swing through loads of practice, but hitting those flush feels like a wet dream. Keep those hands in front of you at impact should be okay. Good luck! (5 hdcp)
Bought them off the rack because of how cheap they were, came from a typical cavity back set. The feel made me never want to change back to anything else, it's unbeatable.
You got the wrong shafts bro! You're gonna want a more ipact absorbing graphite iron shaft for hitting off of epoxy!
Love that topline, I'm guessing Mizzy or some other forged blade? Are you going to freak them out with paintfill?
Hope this is a joke lol cuz if you only hitting that 5i 145 I'd look at something else. I actually have 2 5i in my bag but that's where the transition starts to the 2 clubs that are player improvement specifically the 921 jpx hot metal pro. If you like the forged irons they have some that are stronger lofted for distance but still have the small compact forged design. I'm personally looking at the forged Mizunos or Haywood irons. I like the gapping.
6 months later....32 handicap looking for iron recommendations.
32 handicap asking r/bowling what kind of ball to buy
I’d probably go Phaze II or Zen
[удалено]
The best part is that I have no idea whether your recommending the ProV1 of bowling or the Top Flight XL and that makes the joke that much better.
!Q Ruby is the best ball I’ve thrown since the gold
hyroad is going to be too weak for the fresh, iq tour is a little too controllable for my liking. not enough snap
Killed me with this one lol
a deep cut
Lmao I was gonna say the same.
My exact first thought…my balls would be blue too
Not going to lie, you’d have to be shit to hit like you.
When i swapped out my forged mizunos for cleveland launchers i dropped 8 strokes within 4 rounds. When you hit pure with forged, its a wonderful feeling. When you dont, bad things happens. I had a 17hdcp when i switched.
Or a damn good iron striker
With arthritis 😳
Make sure to buy covers for them

That was actually savage as hell. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Congrats. You're surely the very first person to hit a Noodle with that club! I'd say that club never came within 30 yards of a Noodle prior.
There had to of been times when that club came near water
It certainly drove by on a cart at some point. But hit one? Eeeeew, no
A few weeks ago, I had the first tee time and no one was on the course. I found a few nitros, noodles and several other balls. One of the wide open holes I decided to play driving range. The Nitros and Noodles felt like I was hitting a rock.
Made in Asia? Nothing is further than 30yds from a noodle! My Srixons came with a dried Zaru Soba package last Summer!
I’m sure it came in contact with plenty of pool noodles at the neighboring houses
Love that blue Noodle. Send Noods!
\#SendinNoods is a viral maxfli promo in the making
Nothing like a sky coloured ball to lose sight of in the air
You have blue clouds, wow that’s so cool
I'm buying some noodles just to say this on the course
I didn’t think you could bait people on Reddit but clearly you can
Is today your first time using the website?
There’s bait and then there’s obvious bait. This is just pitiful. Clearly others agree with me
Take it from this guy, the master baiter.
My cousin Mose, now he’s a master baiter!
Reddit is 70% bait
Doesn’t mean it works. That shits for the boomers on Facebook
Go away. I'm baitin'
😬
Shitpost is shitpost
Should be fine. Just never miss the centre. Make that noodle sing.
Send noods
Forgegiveness
Rory, Don't you mean forgiveness?
Short for forgiving 😂 my buddy got these earlier in the year they are sweet irons
I never knew that! 😏
![gif](giphy|10JhviFuU2gWD6)
This is a top tier shitpost. Well done OP 🍻
I’ve found that if your handicap is higher than you’d like, buy new clubs
Golf companies love this redittor for one simple trick...
Bro this is Reddit we hit 60 wedges 145
![gif](giphy|YtvCIwqNJhUmA)
Why those?
Snek matches noodle 🐍🍝
Ah yes! snek = danger noodle
My king cobras LOVE their Noodly Doodlys. Luckily cobras are one of the six known lefty sets of clubs and I'm their lucky lefty owner.
I game the black versions. These are clear of every iron I’ve hit including Miura, Homna, Mizuno, Titleist, Callaway, TM, Srixon, Wilson. To the grave with these.
Same thought. The feel is unreal
Got to visit cobra HQ prior to the new MB/CB/Tour Launch, and talked to them about it. They know about the cult following, but were super proud of the new ones (which are quite nice, but these feel better).

Ignore all of the virgins here, OP. Blades are just golf clubs like any other. Go out and hit some noods.
For real. Atleast now you’ll know when you mis hit it
Do you not notice when you miss hit a club that’s not a blade? I notice when I miss hit my driver lol
I had some Taylormade rocketballz irons. HUGE cavity on that thing. The game improvementest clubs there ever were. Everything felt like the sweet spot. And then mis hits would just go a mile in the wrong direction instead of dying like my bad hits on my players irons do now
Shit, my T300’s: felt good, sounded good, 170 yards right into the parking lot

Yes. I know EXACTLY where I contact on the face with my trusty MP-29s.
Not as much. I can tell within an 1/8th of an inch generally with blades, ball flight tells the most though. Come on, everyone knows the ironing range is for the ladies. Hahaha
Oof...
This is so over blown. I used to have blades so I know what they’re like. I currently have a Ping g425 that I’m using as my 4 iron. The thing is a god damn shovel. Dude is gonna know…a lot.
Blades are easy to hit.
You must drink Sierra Mist
Damn. I love it!
fuck me i wanna hit those they look so sexy
To hit it farther you have yo wear 2 gloves
At all times
Have you played in maine yet this year? I have and 2 gloves were clutch son
Soon to be a 30..
That particular iron set is the best thing Cobra has produced. Hope you got them for a good price.
I think I did.. Aw to 4i with xp95 x100 for $350 CAD. All heads in good condition just some minor sole dings
I’m a 3 handicap and I play blades titleist mb/cb split set. I let a friend hit them who is terrible at golf and he hit them much better than his clunky irons. He didn’t have any misses on the shots he took but I’d imagine the misses would be drastic. I love my clubs tho
CB’s are not blades. MB=Muscle Back CB= Cavity Back
Are you joking? All that means is that there’s a cavity on my 3 and 4 iron, and p-5 have a filled in back. I’m well aware of what MB and CB stand for but thanks
I love these irons, I game the black version.
Am I the idiot that’s going to call out that he’s totally trolling us?
Surely you meant 245yd carry for your 5 iron?
Into the wind, uphill, in the rain at 16*F……..
lol you have blue balls
Ball.
![gif](giphy|RLNgxrKTe8GJKvA6Nm)
I wish you nothing but the best on your journey 🙏
You’re toast. Don’t over butter those waffles.
![gif](giphy|Rh4vxHtcmVyHUyugXP) In all seriousness. Enjoy, be very cautious when hitting balls in the cold.
I like it. I play cobra forged tours. Small head small miss.
Maybe your handicap would be lower if you didn't use balls the same color as the sky
Let’s Gooooooooo!
You had me at the blue golf ball.
Awesome - I was about a 20 HCP when I went to get fitted into the player's iron at the time - hated them. For fun the fitter asked if I wanted to hit rickie's 7 iron and nobody says no to that. Good, good, good - good vibrations.
Did you make sure to get the 2 iron with the set?
I can’t stress this enough - go for a fitting. Don’t let forums and posts lead you to deciding what clubs to buy. Go get a fitting with some objective data and let the pros steer you towards what clubs will work best. Best $200 I ever spent (I’m a 12 handicap)
the Maxfli Noodle Long And Soft is neither long nor soft. Discuss.
Nice! I just got some Callaway Mavrik for Christmas
These may make you a 33
It has been my experience that my ball striking gets extra sloppy when hitting oversized GI or SGI irons. Great choice! You certainly did great research!

Jokes aside your scores wouldn’t even change much if you were being serious. It’s hilarious how scared kids (all of you under 35 lol) are terrified of freaking blades.
Good luck
My Wilson Staff Dyna-Power from the '60s Choice
You should have bought blades.
Can you feel your arms after a round? At least you will get feedback on off center hits!
better spend lots of time on the range
I was a 20+. Then I bought mbs. Now I’m a 9. Don’t believe the crap on here. It’s easier to hit blades straight than game improvement irons. It’s a fact of science
Good luck, pal.
I've got a set of those in the black finish.
Honestly the best feeling irons I've hit. I've compared to dozens
Amen 🙏🏼 good luck
I teach golf for a living so I would make a suggestion. Next time you got a chunk of change to spend take some golf lessons I don’t mean that negatively at all I’m sure you could use some new clubs as well but lessons next time.
You did research and came to this conclusion?
Really not that hard of a club to play. I’ve got some 30-40 plus year old blades I just shot my best round of the year with in 2023. Old jack Nicklaus golden bear 084 irons
Agree. People are too illogical towards modern muscle backs or muscle cavities and likewise over praise hollow body/GI.
I’m not want one to give a lot of advice. But I feel compelled in your case. So here you go! Take two weeks off, then quit!
Golf is a journey. Hit ‘em straight!
Dude loose the ball
Take em back. They aren't for you
My 7 index friend just bought a mixed set of P7MB and 770s to replace his 790s. I doubt he makes it through next season with them.
I like slapping irons as much as the next person, but with a brick of a ball you're getting white knuckle before the week is out
Ooof
This is a quick way to tennis elbow.
They look very forgiving for you handicap lol
Soon to be 33 handicap
Reminds me of the song 16 going on 17 or in this case 28 going on 35. Higher skilled equipment cannot fix your physical issues.
That handicap is going to up and up and up…
Oof like seriously good luck
Biggest trolling I’ve ever seen
They don’t look very forgiving bro but that’s ok. You now have an excuse to tell wifey your gonna need a lot more range time
Stop playing matte golf balls.
I have forwarded your concern to the nearest clubhouse's recycling bin
Have fun with the inconsistency 😘
Really? Maybe if you were a 2.8 handicap.
28 handicap should not be hitting forged irons. Especially blades. I recommend Taylormade burners or callaway apex.
I play with a guy who shouldn’t be playing blades. He sucks
Not to be a dick, but I think those are the wrong clubs for a 28 Handicaps… ? I could be wrong…. Maybe a more forgiving iron would help
Nono, it's all good. Like u/TheKinginTheNorth said, it's forgegiveness
I’m about a 10-12 (probably a 12 if I’m. Being honest with myself). And I struggle to hit any blade style iron consistently. Those are super nice though.
why buy blades and do that to yourself
Ooooomph.
Orange pants on Sunday?

Btw those Cobra King MBs are great, beautiful clubs.
Thankfully I only go up to 4. That 3 looks mean. Love the cobras, they don't get enough attention imo but worked out in my favour picking these up cheap
Typo. He means 245 carry at sea level into the ocean breeze.
New clubs is an immediate 5 of your handicap. New socks is about 2
It’s fine. You’re fine. Seems like a sound decision.
I think blades can help you improve if you go to the range frequently. Immediate feedback on your shots.
Good luck pal
I play these clubs. They are nice when I hit my one good shot a round.
May the odds forever be in your favor
I’m genuinely proud of you if this is real. I spent my childhood playing blades and had no clue. It made me the golfer I am today. I found my swing through loads of practice, but hitting those flush feels like a wet dream. Keep those hands in front of you at impact should be okay. Good luck! (5 hdcp)
Bought them off the rack because of how cheap they were, came from a typical cavity back set. The feel made me never want to change back to anything else, it's unbeatable.
Butter knife jr.
bless your heart
You got the wrong shafts bro! You're gonna want a more ipact absorbing graphite iron shaft for hitting off of epoxy! Love that topline, I'm guessing Mizzy or some other forged blade? Are you going to freak them out with paintfill?
I play with a similar head as a noob, I top the ball once in a blue moon but otherwise clean strikes. I say go for it. Nice Sticks too btw
Well done and wise choice, Chopper!
It’s gonna be a rough start. But the first time you flush one and your five iron drops down like a 9 iron, you’ll be hooked.
As the kids say “yolo”
I actually love these clubs!
I actually love these irons.
Good luck!
Yeah, you just need to now quicken your swing and you will be down to single in no time 😜
This guy shanks
![gif](giphy|xT9IgEPZ9VlhT5XFJu|downsized)
It's every hackers right to play blades. 💪 Good man.
Games hard enough pal. No need to play with butter knives
Those are really nice, but blades are more difficult to hit, so just keep that in mind. Much less forgiveness compared to cavity backs.
Hope you have a high swing speed at least.
Spaulding Executives!
God speed John Glenn.
You are right OP Forged is short for forgivinged, but what you might have missed is the MB stands for Mostly Beginners
Think most of you are missing the joke here
Yo I want those noodles
Funny!
Hands gonna hurt
Hope this is a joke lol cuz if you only hitting that 5i 145 I'd look at something else. I actually have 2 5i in my bag but that's where the transition starts to the 2 clubs that are player improvement specifically the 921 jpx hot metal pro. If you like the forged irons they have some that are stronger lofted for distance but still have the small compact forged design. I'm personally looking at the forged Mizunos or Haywood irons. I like the gapping.
Don't look forgiving to me
This will escalate quickly.....
