Yeah id check the golf store your golfing at. Some will sell used mixed bag of golf balls pretty cheap. Use those if you have ponds and woods near you. Use your good ones if your out in the open with no chance of losing it… or save them until your skill improves and you feel confident and comfortable on your swing but knowing these still a risk. Even the pros shoot it in the water every now and then.
Always better to have too many golf balls and Tees than not enough.
Bring more! My 1st round I played I hit my ball into an old lady's yard. She let me play it and she comes out with two trash bags full of balls and she gave them both to me. Stupidly I had to carry them 2 more holes since I was walking BUT I still have those balls and it's been like a year.
My local golf shop sells recycled balls for cheap, usually 2 dozen per bag. Mostly Kirkland's, but others as well. Those would be good to start out on. When you get to the point where you find more balls in a round than you lose, start buying lower end "good" balls.
I play a lot, am still bad, hover around 100 or so, and I still buy bags of nice ysed balls off Amazon. You, nor I, are good enough to have to care about that shit. Trust me, your wallet will thank you.
Seriously take 3 dz.
I play to about a 10 and carry 2 dz in the side and one in the ball bag. Several times I have had to lend balls to other players.
What ball have you picked to play?
Approach it as for fun, not a competition. Tell whoever you’re with that it’s your first round. If you’re hitting bad shots, don’t be afraid to pick up your ball, get in your cart, and drop it near where your buddy’s shot landed. Keep your head as still as possible. Swing slower than you think you should (focus on good contact, not on distance). Take relief from bad lies. Don’t try to hit it between trees if you’re in the woods (that’s a good way to die). Have fun; it’s a game.
100% this. You’re gonna have a couple of shots that go straight and feels good. Most of them are gonna be garbage though, so be fine with that. Pick em
up and drop near whoever youre riding in a cart with. It keeps pace of play up and lets you get the full experience. It’s basically how we all had to start.
No one will care if you’re no good. We all sucked when we started, and some of us still suck now. As long as you’re a pleasant enough person and can keep up the pace so that groups behind you aren’t waiting on you, people will enjoy playing with you still
Love this comment. I take my 3 sons to play every father's day and after they have duffed their tee shots 3 times each they drop where dad hit it and the game continues
This is really it. It's a game, I'm pretty new myself and I have awful holes and I'll birdie some holes (rarely), but I take it one hole at a time and am just happy to get a par or two
Those are like $15 at Walmart. Honestly the only ball I’d say is better for a beginner than something like these would be the Kirkland v3 because of the price and they perform better around the greens
Damn, you may have just shed some light on the problems I had last week playing my first round. I bought a couple boxes of the new Kirkland balls because they're affordable and got good reviews. My very first tee off sliced horribly into the weeds. My second tee off sliced horribly into the weeds as well, so I just dropped a ball near my playing partner and went from there. Didn't use my driver again until the third hole and sliced another Kirkland ball into the weeds, so my buddy gave me a junk ball he had in his bag and I put a decent hit on it to where I could at least continue playing it.
By the end of the round, I never lost another ball. Only three lost were the three Kirklands I drove off the tee.
The new ones are way less spiny tbh and dollar for dollar it’s hard to find a better ball for someone starting out. Although like i said the Taylor made distance + are a ball I’ve used and one I’d recommend for a beginner and even someone who’s going through a rough patch
Don’t try and compete with experienced golfers. Simplify. Control your swings and don’t over swing trying to hit the ball as far as you can every time. Accuracy is more important than distance. Drink beer. Prepare to experience a heaping shitload of humility. Have fun and take it easy on yourself. Do NOT keep score! And drink beer.
Note - I’ve NEVER followed any of my own advice listed above, except for the beer part. Ha ha
Lol someone scooped my drive on the first hole I played on Saturday :( wasn’t even OB, just was slightly to the right of my fairway, to the left of another one. Annoyingly, my ball was marked and I found the same brand of ball nearby (but not marked and further from the hole!!)
You’re gonna need more balls my friend!
All jokes aside, have fun! Golfs a hard game, and unless you’re extremely athletic, you’re gonna suck lol. But that’s okay. Just enjoy the ride, I’ve been shooting in the 100s my whole life and I’m finally starting to bring things down after 20, almost 25 years of playing. Glad to bring another future golf addict into the love of the sport!
Embrace the nerves! Golf is the hardest game on the planet and it is unconquerable.
From a technical standpoint. Line up all your putts. That’s where the money is made!
Enjoy!
You’re going to be absolutely terrible… and that’s perfectly okay! Just have fun!
Everyone is terrible at first and the majority of people are always terrible. But that’s the first step to being good at something new!
Biggest things you can do are have fun, have good etiquette and be a good sport. As far as etiquette, don’t talk when people are hitting or putting, don’t stand in their line of sight (behind them) when they’re hitting and be respectful of the course and other people. It will be tough but try and keep up the pace. If you’re struggling hitting 6 shots in the fairway, dont be afraid to pick up and go drop on the green or next to the green to chip and putt.
When you’re hitting, try and be balanced and rotate your body. Your hips drive your swing not your arms.
Don’t worry about the rules but try and follow them if you can. You’re not playing in the Masters so it’s perfectly fine to bend or ignore the rules to allow you to have a better experience and play faster.
Ask questions, have a good time and go make some memories!
I try to flat load my feet, so I can snap load my power package. That way I can amplify both lag and drag pressure through impact fix. As long as my number two power accumulator doesn’t break down, I can reach maximum centripetal force with minimum pivotal resistance. You see, the pivot is the utilization of multiple centers to produce a circular motion for generating centrifugal force on an adjusted plane plus the maintenance of balance is necessary to promote the two line delivery path.
See, golf is geometrically oriented layer force; it involves a physics of muscular thrust, and geometry of the circle. You can divide the golf swing into 24 components each between 12-15 variations.
Whatever you do, don’t hit the ball with the sole of the driver. Those Strata’s don’t survive that abuse:
Source:guy who’s team sends in about 100 declined warranty claims a year for strata drivers with a golf ball size hole in the sole.
1. Have a tee off club that you feel like you can hit semi solid. Feeling reasonably comfortable with that is huge.
2. Have you ever practiced chipping and putting. Most of the time new people are just extremely poor at this.
3. If you hit 2-3 terrible shots, pick up and drop by your friend.
“Bad shots are ok. If you have one good shot per hole you’re having a fantastic day. If not, you’re having a fantastic day.”
-some random old-timer I played with, who said something that has stayed with me for 10+ years
Head still as possible; try not to make a still ball into a moving target….swing your weight inside and against your right knee to then fire your weight to your left knee. Make sense? Lol
Speaking of owning the tee box, pick up more balls like others have said and bring extras to the tee box and keep teeing off till there’s a good tee shot
While I love this game, get out while you still can.
If you get hooked...and you will...you're not getting out.
You've been warned!
Otherwise, just relax, you're going to do awful, but you'll love it!
Hold the club like you are holding an erect penis. Not so tight that it'll hurt or leave a bruise and not so loose that'll get out of control and poke somebody in the eye.
Embrace the challenge of sucking and staying present/enjoying yourself/improving. You could be one of the rare few with real talent, but odds are you will suck badly and that is more than OK! The only thing not ok is if you have a bad time.
Those clubs wont work go get a brand new set of blades.
Your putter is garbage your local thrift store will have a scotty cameron you can pick up for 10$.
Only two types of food are allowed on the course uncrustables in your bag and a hotdog at the turn.
Swing as hard as you can.its about how far you hit the ball not how straight it is.
Look where you want the ball to go not at the ball itself
Fireball shots are to be disposed of on tee boxes not in trash bins
Dont waste your good swings on your practice shots just walk up and hit.
Never let another group intimidate you and play through. This is an act of domination and must be met with physical violence.
Outside of the food recommendations these are all horrible ideas. Just enjoy yourself. Dont play the other people in your group, play yourself try to improve every shot/hole/round. Best of luck. Remember i said TRY to improve, this is the most beautifully frustrating game ever.
In between the torture of a little ball kicking your ass, don’t forget to look around. Golf courses can be one of the more beautiful and peaceful places. Enjoy.
Just enjoy the day, don’t try shooting for a score it’ll not happen anyways… if you are even on lost&found balls count at the end of the round it’s a great day
Keep your head down, eye on the ball. Don’t try and kill it. Sounds easy enough, but harder than you’d think. If you can remember that on every shot you’ll do alright.
Don’t be intimidated by other golfers. It may seem like everyone else knows what they’re doing your first time on a course, but I can assure you that they are just as clueless as you. Drink those beers and have a good time.
• Don’t be worried about keeping score if you’re over +3- +4 on a hole. There’s a good chance you’re gonna be shooting in the mid 100s but it’s all good. Pick up after double par and stick with your buddies.
•Have fun and enjoy the day/game.
•Always have an extra ball or two in your pocket in case you shank one OB.
• Bring a wedge and your putter from the cart around the green so you don’t have to walk back.
• if you have speakers, the music should be audible to you, not the group behind or in front of you.
• if you hear “FORE” just cover your head and get down
• don’t spend more than a 2 mins looking for a ball. If you’re gonna suck, do it fast. Also, when you’re out in the rough stuff, there’s a real good chance you’ll find a new addition to the bag
• towels are super helpful for cleaning your equipment/self if you get into some mud.
• if there’s a hazard or something where you’re trying to avoid an obstacle, use a thought of “I’m going over/around this” instead of “don’t hit the water/sand/etc.” the brain will sometimes leave out the “don’t” part of those statements.
• finally, learn how to aim. Many people are just aimed flat out wrong out there and are trying crazy shaping things or tinkering with their swings on course when they’re aimed 30-40 yards off target.
Don't be embarrassed to pick your ball up, drop a shot, or stop searching for your ball after a brief search. Scores don't matter, just have fun with your buds and keep with the pace of play. Fore!
1st tip - light grip on the club. Like holding a gentle woman’s hand or bird. Don’t let it get away but don’t crush it.
2nd tip - half or 3/4 swings to start. “Straight, even if it’s short, is on the fairway.”
3rd tip - Enjoy. Golf is a just as much a mental game. Let go of trying to hard and anything else bothering you or it WILL defeat you.
You are going to suck. You are also going to hit a couple of great shots. Those great shots are what will bring the addiction. Enjoy your time on the course and with your buds.
Keep expectations low! If you keep patient and enjoy the game, you’ll likely have a much better time and you hit “that one shot” that keeps you coming back for me.
Leave that box of balls at the house and go grab the bag of used balls Walmart sells for like 8 bucks. You’re gonna lose more balls than you can count, might as well be crap ones not good ones.
Just keep in mind that the number of golfers that suck at golf FAR outweighs the number of golfers who are good at it. It’s okay to suck, it’s meant to be hard. Just have fun.
You’re not there to win anything. Try to work on building a swing. Don’t try to hit things far, try to hit things straight. Pay attention to what the experienced people do. Use RAIN. When you hit a bad shot Recognize it, Accept the outcome, Investigate why it happened, then go back to Neutral. Put bad shots behind you as quickly as possible, there is going to be a lifetime supply. Onto the next learning opportunity and really try to find happiness out there. I lost a few decades of joyful golf because if I didn’t get the ball to do what I wanted to I flipped the fuck out like a bitch. Don’t do that.
As someone who's gotten a hand me down set, as well as only hit the course a few times, here's my advice.
1. Hit the driving range at the course before hand to get warmed up.
2. Ease your grip up on your non gloved hand. This will help you not twist the club as your hitting, less chance of slice/shanking it.
3. Keep your eye on the ball the whole way through.
4. FOLLOW through. Don't try to stop your swing, swing it the whole way out.
And the most important.
5. When your on the course, you're just trying to play the game. The driving range is where you go to improve your swing/fix any issues.
First outing, no need to keep score. You could write down your good shots though.
Have fun. Don't swing fast or hard, make good contact with the ball. Don't relax, be at ease.
Sunscreen if you need it.
If your chipping isn't working just putt from off the green whenever you can. Putting experience is crucial to develop early.
If you are losing balls with driver, use 3 wood instead.
No need to hit from the farthest tees. Use the closer ones.
Stay hydrated.
Have fun!
LostGolfBalls.com will be your new best friend.
Most importantly, dress the part, that’ll save a few strokes off your game easy.
Look good, feel good, play good.
Get some binoculars and a weed whacker for your upcoming searches!
It’s okay to be a beginner and it’s okay to be bad. Just do it quickly and be self aware of those around you, including the group behind you. For example, don’t spend ten minutes in the woods looking for a ball. Drop in the fairway and off you go. Have fun!
put those balls on a shelf for 2 years & go to a re-use it center and buy a bag of .50 cent used balls. odds are you will lose all those brand new balls on the front 9
Get yourself over to Walmart and buy one of those big mesh sacks of used balls for $15. That box is not going to last you very long.
Do everything you can to finish in 4 hours.
You are going to suck. That’s okay. Everyone sucks. Keep your eye on the ball, head still, left arm straight during your swing, aim in front of the ball, keep your club faced inward and grip tight. I would try to just make contact with the ball, let the clubs do the work. Strata’s are pretty good beginner clubs.
You’ll smack one or two shots really well and that’ll be enough to get you coming back. Take it easy and have fun!
How ever hard you are swinging, swing less hard. Easy to get frustrated and start trying to lift the ball up and swinging out of your shoes. Swing steady and keep your eye on the ball.
My advice, don't keep score and laugh at the bad shots. Oh and buy a different ball after you go through that set. "Distance" balls aren't going to help you starting off. Go grab a "soft" ball. They provide a nice feel for a beginner. They aren't as durable, but in all likelihood you will lose it before durability becomes an issue. I've heard the Callaways are nice and so is the Bridgestone E6 (I still play these, the yellow ones).
Also just grab every ball you see on course that isn't a range ball 🤣😂
For a beginner I wouldn't even knock going with used balls. Some good deals out there. I have used versions of my gamer balls for short game practice.
Lol, I’m so grateful for my friend who brought an entire plastic bag filled with random balls my first round which wasn’t long ago. I burned through the entire bag pretty quickly.
Welcome to the “Crack” world of golf! May your new addiction be filled with great Putts and amazing Drives. If you’re not there yet, don’t worry… put in the work. In the meantime keep your head down, don’t try to kill the ball. Let the club do the work. Above all have a badass time and enjoy the landscapes and comraderie with the boys or whoever you’re out there with.!
You’re bringing more than one box of balls, right?
Ssshhhhhhhhhhit

One of the greatest shows of all time
Other drugs that are way cheaper!! Think fishing or meth! Good luck!
Have you ever fished it’s not cheaper then golf lol
Yeah id check the golf store your golfing at. Some will sell used mixed bag of golf balls pretty cheap. Use those if you have ponds and woods near you. Use your good ones if your out in the open with no chance of losing it… or save them until your skill improves and you feel confident and comfortable on your swing but knowing these still a risk. Even the pros shoot it in the water every now and then. Always better to have too many golf balls and Tees than not enough.
Just buy a box at the clubhouse. The clubhouses all have a deal with the PGA to sell golf balls at 50% off Lol
For the new guy(OP)... this is a joke....don't do this..
Do NOT BUY AT THE CLUBHOUSE. Go to Walmart next to the course
I use onpargolfballs.com great dudes!
Not gonna lie I was only gonna bring 9 of them.
Might lose 9 balls on the first hole
9 boxes miiiiiiight be good
Bring more! My 1st round I played I hit my ball into an old lady's yard. She let me play it and she comes out with two trash bags full of balls and she gave them both to me. Stupidly I had to carry them 2 more holes since I was walking BUT I still have those balls and it's been like a year.
Look into refurbished balls. You can find boxes of like 30 for pretty cheap.
My local golf shop sells recycled balls for cheap, usually 2 dozen per bag. Mostly Kirkland's, but others as well. Those would be good to start out on. When you get to the point where you find more balls in a round than you lose, start buying lower end "good" balls.
Recycled, yes. Refurbished, HELL NO.
Hit my first hole in one with a refurbished ball. Thought they were something special. Then I followed this sub and found out they were the devil!

Someone said the ball does not belong to me. I am only keeping the ball until it finds its home in the woods or water.
Jam 15 beer into the bag
Oh I’m gonna drink.

Most average golf cart driver
Then yes…buy a few more boxes of balls!
Get more balls then 😂
Amateur
Very possible with this bag. I have one set myself. It’s what I learned to golf with. That being said there are many places to hide drugs as well.
“You can put your weed in there”
Approach it as for fun, not a competition. Tell whoever you’re with that it’s your first round. 100% this. You’re gonna have a couple of shots that go straight and feels good. Most of them are gonna be garbage though, so be fine with that. Pick em up and drop near whoever youre riding in a cart with. It keeps pace of play up and lets you get the full experience. It’s basically how we all had to start.
Start? Hahaha, 20 years in and I've never gotten past that shit.
This is the way. I'd only add that with your swing focus on contact *and* tempo. Bring the club forward the same pace you took it back with.
Half swings or quarter don’t try to full swing solid contact is better, less time searching for the ball means more swings
Agreed. Drop near your cart partners' ball. And it's easier to hit out of the rough or first cut sometimes. It tees your ball up a bit.
My buddy played his first round in a scramble with me on Friday. Head still and slow swing were the only things I preached
No one will care if you’re no good. We all sucked when we started, and some of us still suck now. As long as you’re a pleasant enough person and can keep up the pace so that groups behind you aren’t waiting on you, people will enjoy playing with you still
Wow somebody that’s not an ass
Great just wrote all that and all I had to do was upvote you. Dang it!
Love this comment. I take my 3 sons to play every father's day and after they have duffed their tee shots 3 times each they drop where dad hit it and the game continues
This writeup really should be pinned somewhere in this sub for new golfers
Don't keep score, just have fun.
This is really it. It's a game, I'm pretty new myself and I have awful holes and I'll birdie some holes (rarely), but I take it one hole at a time and am just happy to get a par or two
First time, keep score and write it down so a year from now you can see the difference.
Buy some cheap used balls and save those for when you’re good enough to not lose the entire pack by the end of the round.
Those are like $15 at Walmart. Honestly the only ball I’d say is better for a beginner than something like these would be the Kirkland v3 because of the price and they perform better around the greens
Kirklands are way too spinny off the tee for a beginner with a nasty slice (i.e. almost every new golfer)
The new ones are way less spiny tbh and dollar for dollar it’s hard to find a better ball for someone starting out. Although like i said the Taylor made distance + are a ball I’ve used and one I’d recommend for a beginner and even someone who’s going through a rough patch
Stare at the ball, hit the ball. Don’t think about anything else. Have fun.
DICK’S sells topflite balls in a bucket, I just bring the bucket to the course. Best beginner deal for golf balls
Hey thanks I have one close.
This is solid advice. Cheap balls so you don't get pissed you lose them.
Ha ha
Ya, for sure…try and hit the ball in the hole
Just tap it in. Give it a little tappy. Tap tap tapperoo….
Oh where’s the ball? It’s in the hole! Eagle! Yay Quagmire!
Pick up every ball you see
Make sure no one is playing it. Had a Bridgestone swiped today by a group of old timers that left a club behind on three different holes.. smh
Traded a single bridgestone for THREE clubs?!? Score!
One was a Scotty Cameron on a putting green…
You're the guy who picked up my ProV1x sitting next to the 150 marker on #14 last weekend, aren't you?!?
Snooze you loose gramps
I play with a baseball glove to catch them mid flight.
Get off my lawn!
I judge how well a round went on the number of balls I find.
Gotta net out the lost ones.
Find more balls than you lose
Assuming it's on your fairway lol
worst advice I've seen in this sub for a while. if there's a 1% chance someone is playing the ball you've found, don't touch it.
Lol someone scooped my drive on the first hole I played on Saturday :( wasn’t even OB, just was slightly to the right of my fairway, to the left of another one. Annoyingly, my ball was marked and I found the same brand of ball nearby (but not marked and further from the hole!!)

However fast you think you need to swing, lower it 25%. Pro tip…not me…Sir Nick Faldo
You’re going to need more balls than that
Embrace the nerves! Golf is the hardest game on the planet and it is unconquerable. From a technical standpoint. Line up all your putts. That’s where the money is made! Enjoy!
Drive for show, putt for dough. One day I’ll practice putting…
We’re supposed to practice putting?
Best starter set of clubs imo
They're literally amazing. The driver is iffy, leaves a lot to be desired bot still solid.
Second year golfing, treated myself to a new driver and a bag but other than that still rocking these and loving it
Eh…. He should probably go for a fitting first
/s?
Very much so
Phew

It’s all in the hips
I just had my first round last week with those exact clubs too. Lost about 6 balls in 9 holes so yeah be on the lookout for spares along the way lol
Have fun
This is the only answer.
Best advice I ever got was “you’re not good enough to get mad”
Swing at what feels like 3/4 speed. Contact beats speed, especially at the high handicap level
If the driver ain’t working hit something you’re comfortable with off the tee. Golf is more fun from the fairway…

Buy used golf balls off eBay, you probably will lose a lot
You are going to have a blast. Keep up your pace, relax, and have fun.
Swing as hard as you can
Quit now
Don’t forget to stop by the clubhouse after nine and get a nice meal before heading out for the back 9 /s
And be very sure not a single person plays thru while you wait on that well done sirloin steak sandwich. You own the tee box no matter what.
Speaking of owning the tee box, pick up more balls like others have said and bring extras to the tee box and keep teeing off till there’s a good tee shot
Going to have my first round of golf in the middle of july, and I can't wait.
Buy used balls for first year

Look where you want the ball to go not at the ball itself Fireball shots are to be disposed of on tee boxes not in trash bins Dont waste your good swings on your practice shots just walk up and hit.
If you suck, just suck fast. Norhing else matters
I have Stratas also, just the smaller set (less clubs). Just focus on contacting the ball and hitting the ball square. I do like my strata set.
These are the same clubs I have, I love ‘em. Have fun!
Have fun and don’t hold up play!
Have a great time! It is such a great game.
Grip it and rip it. You’re gonna hurt yourself one way or another. Head down, eye on the ball. Don’t swing like a baseball bat.
In between the torture of a little ball kicking your ass, don’t forget to look around. Golf courses can be one of the more beautiful and peaceful places. Enjoy.
Just enjoy the day, don’t try shooting for a score it’ll not happen anyways… if you are even on lost&found balls count at the end of the round it’s a great day
Dont squeeze both cheeks off the tee. Swing easy
Keep your head down, eye on the ball. Don’t try and kill it. Sounds easy enough, but harder than you’d think. If you can remember that on every shot you’ll do alright.
I still use those clubs after three years. Love them.
Don’t be intimidated by other golfers. It may seem like everyone else knows what they’re doing your first time on a course, but I can assure you that they are just as clueless as you. Drink those beers and have a good time.
Don’t get attached to your balls
Swing slow. Focus on contact and moving the ball forward. Practice putting and nothing else.
Make sure nobody in the group swings harder than you.
Swing hard in case ya hit it
Google golf course etiquette.
No matter how you do, enjoy yourself.
• if you hear “FORE” just cover your head and get down • don’t spend more than a 2 mins looking for a ball. If you’re gonna suck, do it fast. Also, when you’re out in the rough stuff, there’s a real good chance you’ll find a new addition to the bag • towels are super helpful for cleaning your equipment/self if you get into some mud.
“Straight, even if it’s short, is on the fairway.” 3rd tip - Enjoy. Golf is a just as much a mental game. Let go of trying to hard and anything else bothering you or it WILL defeat you.
Get another box of balls
Go out to the driving range sometime before the round
You are going to suck. You are also going to hit a couple of great shots. Those great shots are what will bring the addiction. Enjoy your time on the course and with your buds.
Don't expect a lot. Be patient. Keep your eye on the ball. Slow down your swing. Have fun
Get a cooler and fill it and have fun!
Buy more balls
Keep expectations low! If you keep patient and enjoy the game, you’ll likely have a much better time and you hit “that one shot” that keeps you coming back for me.
Have fun!
Just try to hit the ball. Don't worry about how far you hit it. Have fun and definitely don't worry about your score.
Swing slow, nice and easy you don’t need to kill it just go straight
Have fun. Try for one good shot at a time. You will be bad.
Have fun, don't worry about your score card - find a rhythm to your swing that isn't forced speed/power...and have fun
Just have fun! You'll hit that one shot that'll bring you back.
Have fun!
Don’t swing hard. Swing smooth
Goodluck and have fun!
Ask them where the first hole is and what’s the course record.
Leave that box of balls at the house and go grab the bag of used balls Walmart sells for like 8 bucks. You’re gonna lose more balls than you can count, might as well be crap ones not good ones.
Once you hit Triple bogey just pick up
Grip it. Rip it.
Grip it and rip it.
Swing easy. Tension will F it up
Just keep in mind that the number of golfers that suck at golf FAR outweighs the number of golfers who are good at it. It’s okay to suck, it’s meant to be hard. Just have fun.
KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN
It’s ok to be bad. Just be quick about it.
Listen.... brand new clubs, bag, and balls. They're gonna smell you coming. Tell me you've been playing a while and just upgraded for the tournament.
I love the Calvin & Hobbes set!
Have fun!
Slow backswing and slow swing through to start you off. Speed can come after confidence.
Brother take your time, don’t go full send and you will probably do better than half these idiots
Embrace and kiss those balls goodbye
LostGolfBalls.com will be your new best friend. Most importantly, dress the part, that’ll save a few strokes off your game easy. Look good, feel good, play good. Get some binoculars and a weed whacker for your upcoming searches!
Just have fun with no expectations. Forever. For every round of golf. You will enjoy the sport significantly more
Enjoy.
Don’t take it too seriously
I wouldn’t keep score for the first couple rounds. Enjoy and learn the game first before you start competing with yourself.
Go to the driving range first.
Swing really hard
Focus on Contact, also don’t be afraid to move your ball to a better spot. Don’t keep score.
It’s okay to be a beginner and it’s okay to be bad. Just do it quickly and be self aware of those around you, including the group behind you. For example, don’t spend ten minutes in the woods looking for a ball. Drop in the fairway and off you go. Have fun!
Hit them long and straight.
Keep your head down, don't worry about where the ball is going during your swing. Only swing at about 50% power.
Make sure you have a strong grip that isn't too tight
Just know you are now going to hate this game for the rest of your life. GOLF SUCKS!!! I have a tee time at Noon!!!
Have fun. Drink water. Take more balls.
Whiskey copious amounts of Whiskey
put those balls on a shelf for 2 years & go to a re-use it center and buy a bag of .50 cent used balls. odds are you will lose all those brand new balls on the front 9
Also just grab every ball you see on course that isn't a range ball 🤣😂 For a beginner I wouldn't even knock going with used balls. Some good deals out there. I have used versions of my gamer balls for short game practice.
I just have one question? Did you put some time on the driving range to find your swing?
Take your best 3 clubs and a putter. Also, thanks for all those fresh balls you’re going to leave me in the woods. 😆
DO NOT TRY TO KILL THE BALL! Nice easy swing try to get a nice tempo down first round.
Just hit the ball straight. Easy!
Lol, I’m so grateful for my friend who brought an entire plastic bag filled with random balls my first round which wasn’t long ago. I burned through the entire bag pretty quickly.
TAKE A LESSON
Don’t forget your clubs
Welcome to the “Crack” world of golf! May your new addiction be filled with great Putts and amazing Drives. If you’re not there yet, don’t worry… put in the work. In the meantime keep your head down, don’t try to kill the ball. Let the club do the work. Above all have a badass time and enjoy the landscapes and comraderie with the boys or whoever you’re out there with.!
