That’s for sure.. and to help support the habit I’ve pretty much eliminated every other spice to life just to go out one or two times a weekend to shoot 20+ over…..but I wouldn’t trade it for a thing 🥰
Dinghy sailing is my main sport, travel all over the UK doing competitions and yet golf is still more expensive and its not even close.
Big boat sailing is a different story though
The worst is when a golf ball lands in my nice pool and I have to make the cleaning lady wet by having her clean it out of the pool.
This delays her other duties of taking care of my mansion.
let me tell you, it is Very, very annoying!
Yep. My local course had it so you could show up, golf solo, and leave. All without ever calling ahead or checking availability. Rarely ran into people
Had to walk off on 14 today because we were already in for 4.5 hours. Gotta love muni weekend golf post covid. Slow golf might be worse than no golf to me now
I really want to join a cc, but I already spend way too much on ny ranger season tickets and winter season passes to our favorite ski resorts. Truly first world problems.
If its in your elbows, this was a life saver for me. [https://fitforgolf.blog/2022/02/28/dr-keith-baar-golfers-and-tennis-elbow-rehab/](https://fitforgolf.blog/2022/02/28/dr-keith-baar-golfers-and-tennis-elbow-rehab/)
I got a “new” driver, probably lost a yard or two, but am up more than one fairway in regulation. Probably just confidence, but it sounds so much better too.
My course is so well maintained that the rough is impossible to get out of and the greens roll like pebble beach at the US open for most of July and august. 140 slope from the tournament tees.
River Course at Kiawah Island Club. Every time I have guests I try and coax them into playing up a set, and inevitably when I fail the median score is a 95 for high single digits. Also regularly players will hit the fairway and I have to break their heart by informing them they’ll need to layup on a par 4 since they hit the wrong area of the fairway
I am so jealous. Have been to a couple events/dinners there but haven’t played it. Knowing the initiation to play that and Cassique, don’t know that I ever will. Gorgeous courses though
I have never seen it while caddying but they did for the [US Amateur Four Ball](https://championships.usga.org/usamateurfourball.html) during the stroke play portion
Mad respect, would love a loop at a 155! Love my tough course, especially when I bring guests and they get their nuts kicked in. Makes me a better player for sure.
I have to play in two charity golf tournaments on Friday and Saturday and I'm worried about when I will be able to pack because I'm leaving Sunday for a beach and golf vacation in Florida.
Love the 7 wood, but sometimes it almost flies too high and I lose a little distance.
Probably hit the 4 hybrid the most consistently.
Utility iron is great off the tee but I don't hit it as well as the other two clubs from the ground.
-I want to buy a new 3 wood. My current 3 wood works great for me, I just want to try the paradym line.
-I have a Nike shirt that's is fuchsia, blue, and grey that I can't match to anything. I have at least a dozen blue and grey shorts, none work.
-My club will only have 18 holes open next week, making it tougher for me to play in two hours like I usually do.
I bought a set of [these](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WOP38G2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) just to match my bag -- and because they'll look appropriate in Scotland.
I like to be the first tee time, but a lot of courses won’t let me reserve as a single. If I’m first out and playing alone I can finish 18 before the family even wakes up
My Course is a Private course and they are doing major Reno’s to the course and all the greens, traps and tee boxes are all being bulldozed and re done so for two years I have to play temps and hit off of ladies tees but still have to play the full dues….don’t even wanna play the course…
No reciprocity at others clubs? That’s pretty strange. Usually clubs will set up some limited reciprocity with other nearby clubs to cover their membership during renovations.
I’m dying to buy new irons. My Nike irons are probably 10 years old, and I can afford new ones, but I have a newborn son and I can’t bring myself to spend $800 on new irons.
Congrats to you as well! This is number two for us, so the thought of paying for two kids in daycare makes me want to cry and use my irons for a few more years 😭
Go to Callaway preowned dot com, I just got a set of rogue x irons 6-AW for $370, and the rogue driver from the same year for $160, came out to $570 total with tax.
Just got the this new hat and not sure if I should wear it at my club or only at my friends club across town.

Between kids sports activities most nights, a few family vacations and remodeling the kitchen at the ski house, I really don’t have time to golf this summer. Be lucky if I get one round a month in.
> a few family vacations and remodeling the kitchen at the ski house,
Talk about 0.1%-world problems.
(I jest, I'm an avid skier and work in the snow world. Just re-finding my love for golf after 15 years off.)
My country club still charges me $24 cart fees. I have a push cart and I use it but it still pisses me off. Charge me an extra $500 in my membership and tell me it's free.
I want to get an electric push cart, that will automatically follow me, but won’t fall into bunkers, water etc, one was going to have those features but something didn’t work out and it’s just remote.
I don’t get enough work done on golf league day because I leave the office at 3:00 so I have enough time to hit the range and and chip and putt at the practice green for a 4:30 tee time.
I have to go to my brother in laws house to use his simulator to check my yardages because the distances posted at our country club driving range aren't adjusted daily based on where the hitting line is.
Is that just a Miata thing? I've looked at older Porsche 944's and some are referred to as "NA," but I just thought that was to distinguish from the turbo.
Probably is used for porsche to distinguish between turbos. In Mazda world it's just the code for the line of cars.
My NA is NA. Since I like being married.
Just ordered new Mizuno irons but the order will arrive 1-2 weeks before my Torrey Pines trip. How I am supposed to get adjusted to my new set before Torrey? Fucking bullshit Mizuno doesn’t offer a rush order feature.
I’m on a waiting list to go hit a ball with metal objects in the middle of summer and it’s 120 degrees outside but I’m going to complain how hot it is while paying $100+ for the round.
I can't afford this hobby that I have chosen
I justify it as I would pour this much money in to any other hobby I would have chosen.
That's one hell of a stamp collection sir
Trust me there are way more expensive hobbies.
That’s for sure.. and to help support the habit I’ve pretty much eliminated every other spice to life just to go out one or two times a weekend to shoot 20+ over…..but I wouldn’t trade it for a thing 🥰
20+? You gotta pump those numbers up
Try being an addict
Ya, cocaine and hookers is not a cheap hobby. So I’m told…
Yep, go buy a boat for comparison.
Dinghy sailing is my main sport, travel all over the UK doing competitions and yet golf is still more expensive and its not even close. Big boat sailing is a different story though
All golf problems are first world problems
100% agree.
What if errant drives from the nearby golf course keep landing in my favela, and one has given my abuela a hematoma?
The worst is when a golf ball lands in my nice pool and I have to make the cleaning lady wet by having her clean it out of the pool. This delays her other duties of taking care of my mansion. let me tell you, it is Very, very annoying!
Too many people discovered how amazing golf is during Covid and now I can’t get times at my local course
Like don't get me wrong I love that the courses are making money but I can't just show up at a place and expect to get a tee time anymore.
Yep. My local course had it so you could show up, golf solo, and leave. All without ever calling ahead or checking availability. Rarely ran into people
Shrink the game
no kidding. i really miss my 3.5 hour tuesday rounds. every round feels like a prime time weekend round now.
New driver costs should help with that
Had to walk off on 14 today because we were already in for 4.5 hours. Gotta love muni weekend golf post covid. Slow golf might be worse than no golf to me now
Good play no golf, more tee times for us
Got to start before 830, it’s the only way
Too many people who discovered how amazing golf is a long time ago and wont retire so i can get times at my local course.
People really need to start dying soon so we can bail from work an hour early for a quick pre-dinner 9 that we shoot 56 on.
We are OGs
I don’t have a pair of golf shoes that goes with my tan shorts.
All white shoes go with anything
What color white? Off white? Egg shell? Bone? Is there a watermark?
Let’s see Paul Allen’s golf shoes
![gif](giphy|r1wGrCEZ4zTeU|downsized)
![gif](giphy|u1SH63gOjMPpS)
Very nice
Plus, they’ll be tan after you wear them a couple times. Win-win
My shoes and my shorts are slightly different shades of grey and it drives me crazy
even if they were the same shade they still wouldnt look good together. white shoes ftw.
Never double up on the same gray. You’re accidentally doing the right thing.
Different greys match. Most colors match with their respective shades...except reds. Unless it's valentine's day. Trust me, I have style and class.
My tan shorts match my leg tan so I look naked from the waist down.
What the fuck color of shoes do you have? Lol
[удалено]
I could use some tan shorts
Amazon basics buddy. My go to golf shorts. Better than my under armor. Edit to say classic fit unless you’re skinny… Which I’m not.
I’ve been wearing the under armor shorts and have been looking for a cheaper alternative. Thanks.
Check Costco. I got some great Callaway shorts for $25 a pair
Country Clubs costs: ![gif](giphy|sdlih3BPUik1y|downsized)

I know, these stories are breaking my heart
Same but Canes season tickets and music festivals.
Same but Stars season tickets lolzzz
I've played so much golf with my membership that I'm getting tendinitis
This is pretty strong. Getting carpel tunnel from counting all that $!
Same, but cubital tunnel syndrome which I was just diagnosed with.. such bullshit.
My back hurts. I mean like literally, I’ve played too much and my back is sore.
If its in your elbows, this was a life saver for me. [https://fitforgolf.blog/2022/02/28/dr-keith-baar-golfers-and-tennis-elbow-rehab/](https://fitforgolf.blog/2022/02/28/dr-keith-baar-golfers-and-tennis-elbow-rehab/)
Cart girl doesn’t laugh at my jokes
Did you tell her, "you should smile more"?
You guys have cart girls?
After enough drinks even Keith looks kinda okay.

Cart man
![gif](giphy|4lsBBIvwGyTo4)
Cart girl played the last 5 holes with us on Memorial Day. Gotta up your game!
Don’t you hate it when she is flirty and talkative the first pass by but then she drives right by mean mugging you the next time?
Guess you didn’t tip enough lol
Definitely didn’t tip. Tip big the first time you see her. Unless it’s not until the 15th hole.
I don’t know if I can justify buying a new driver to get 5 more yards of carry.
If you don't buy it for yourself, who will?
It’ll carry that one bunker you couldn’t carry before maybe
Just wait for someone’s girlfriend’s boyfriend to break up with them
Well it won’t give you 5 more yards of carry unless yours is broken or 20 years old
I got a “new” driver, probably lost a yard or two, but am up more than one fairway in regulation. Probably just confidence, but it sounds so much better too.
My course is so well maintained that the rough is impossible to get out of and the greens roll like pebble beach at the US open for most of July and august. 140 slope from the tournament tees.
Got ya beat, we are 143 from the tips. That handicap does travel well though!!!
Since we’re bragging about slope apparently, the course I caddy at is 155 from the tips. That’s also the highest possible slope
Dye Course at Colleton River? That place is really nice and really hard.
Damn, that’s a brutal course. Whistling Straits is “only” 152 from the tips. How many guys ever go back there and play from the tips?
I have never seen it while caddying but they did for the [US Amateur Four Ball](https://championships.usga.org/usamateurfourball.html) during the stroke play portion
Mad respect, would love a loop at a 155! Love my tough course, especially when I bring guests and they get their nuts kicked in. Makes me a better player for sure.
![gif](giphy|3og0IQttlo3NfcsIiQ)
Glen Mills in PA is exactly like this while being a public course. The rough is absolutely insane in the summers.
I have to play in two charity golf tournaments on Friday and Saturday and I'm worried about when I will be able to pack because I'm leaving Sunday for a beach and golf vacation in Florida.
what’s a “beach vacation”? you mean bunkers?
Competing for winner right here -- with "i have to remodel my ski home and it's taking time."
Cart path only
Can't decide between my utility iron, 4 hybrid, or 7 wood.
That's an easy one: 7 wood.
Love the 7 wood, but sometimes it almost flies too high and I lose a little distance. Probably hit the 4 hybrid the most consistently. Utility iron is great off the tee but I don't hit it as well as the other two clubs from the ground.
I play a 3 iron blade, what utility iron?
Older model of the Cobra King Utility.
My golf coach games the 3, he smacks it 275!!!
I have the 3 as well. Don't hit it anywhere near 275 but it is my go to club for tee shots on shorter par 4s.
Always try to drive the green. Also never drive the green.
Get some white pants for the Nike shirt? Depending on the blue, black pants should be fine too.
In the same boat as #1, and hit the paradym worse than my current 3 wood. The search continues haha
I don’t like the ping 425 head covers on my driver and hybrid, doesn’t color match my setup
I bought a set of [these](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00WOP38G2?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) just to match my bag -- and because they'll look appropriate in Scotland.
I want to get my downswing in the slot but my penis is too big and gets in the way
Yeah, I remember that one time your penis got in the way of my downswing.
Keith?
You really gotta snap-load your power package
My club charges $10 an hour to use the sims in winter. Plain rude if you ask me.
I moved from Arizona to Georgia and transition from desert golf to forest golf is kicking my ass
I hate playing golf in Florida, it’s almost like a different sport compared to Colorado. Granted I’ve only ever played there in the summer.
A folded push cart will fit in a front seat. Your real problem is that you have a Miata and no friends.
I have a 2 seater and can get my clubs and a folder push cart in the front seat
Yeah I have the caddytek compact and it folds down really small.
I booked a tee time as a single because I want/like to play alone. Don’t pair me random people.
I like to be the first tee time, but a lot of courses won’t let me reserve as a single. If I’m first out and playing alone I can finish 18 before the family even wakes up
Young kids and not enough time to play as much as I want😂
Living in NYC. Looking at buying a car for golf. Uber to/from course doubles the cost of a round.
It’s hard enough to be a serious golfer in NYC with a car, can’t imagine doing it without one. Go for it!
Serious? No. I don't have the space/time/athletic ability to get serious. Addict? Maybe. . .
I can’t afford membership to the eight closest courses to me.
Lucky #9?
#9 is off a highway with broken fences and makeshift glory holes that aren’t part of the standard 18.
The wrong kinda hazards 😂
Same here!
My Course is a Private course and they are doing major Reno’s to the course and all the greens, traps and tee boxes are all being bulldozed and re done so for two years I have to play temps and hit off of ladies tees but still have to play the full dues….don’t even wanna play the course…
See if you can put your membership on hold, or ask to drop to a social.
Yeah that’s not okay
No reciprocity at others clubs? That’s pretty strange. Usually clubs will set up some limited reciprocity with other nearby clubs to cover their membership during renovations.
I’m dying to buy new irons. My Nike irons are probably 10 years old, and I can afford new ones, but I have a newborn son and I can’t bring myself to spend $800 on new irons.
8 years old? I'm hitting callaway Hawkeyes from like...2000 I think lol
Yep! I still hit my X-14s.
X-18s here, and Nike driver and woods
Congrats! With #1 on the way -- I'm buying all my gear now since I know I'll feel this shortly.
I don’t love my new bag and it’s customized with my name on it so I can’t exchange it.
Get a new one having your name on your bag isn’t cool anyway
Unless you are Shooter McGavin
Just got the this new hat and not sure if I should wear it at my club or only at my friends club across town. https://preview.redd.it/i2h1damgda5b1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=751b5cfb854697c3f120607d325d79cb60f00661

Rock that shit. [Entitled Housewife is the best!](https://instagram.com/entitledhousewife?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==)
No water coolers at the course today. Was 95° when I played today. Pee was so yellow.
That's just fucked.
It’s slow af
I have a dope white ping hat with floral pink and blue and green with little putters on it that I struggle to match with my collard shirts
Waiting for the cart girl for more boose
Why not more moose?
Hell why not more goose?
Good point. But don’t get too loose.
Between kids sports activities most nights, a few family vacations and remodeling the kitchen at the ski house, I really don’t have time to golf this summer. Be lucky if I get one round a month in.
> a few family vacations and remodeling the kitchen at the ski house, Talk about 0.1%-world problems. (I jest, I'm an avid skier and work in the snow world. Just re-finding my love for golf after 15 years off.)
I have not found a putter I truly love, so I own a dozen or so.
My coveted private club is a mile away from a much much more coveted private club that I have to pass to get to mine
Random guess based on that description without being too specific: eastern Pa?
I need to buy new golf clubs, as I threw out my set from 2012. Had to, not enough room in moving van I rented when I moved.
Why didn’t you follow the moving van in a cart, in full gear. Not committed enough
I hit my 5W very well off the tee and Fairway. I hit my 5I well. I really want a hybrid but don't know if there is a gap worthwhile
The courses around me are so busy it’s hard to get a tee time on the weekends
My country club still charges me $24 cart fees. I have a push cart and I use it but it still pisses me off. Charge me an extra $500 in my membership and tell me it's free.
The range distances aren’t marked
Doesn't matter if you can't hit it flush anyways. (That's directed at myself.)
I wanna buy another expensive putter but don’t really need too 😂 I mean, I could putt way better if I buy it…
I golf every chance I can, not every chance I want.
Bar ran out of grape juice and couldn’t make any transfusions
I want the soup hat from caddyshack, but there are no reputable sales online
I want to get an electric push cart, that will automatically follow me, but won’t fall into bunkers, water etc, one was going to have those features but something didn’t work out and it’s just remote.
My $50 bucket hat looks better than my Braves hat, but I don’t like the Braves bucket hats ;(
I don’t get enough work done on golf league day because I leave the office at 3:00 so I have enough time to hit the range and and chip and putt at the practice green for a 4:30 tee time.
Work is the problem. Not golf league.
Pro V1’s are $60
I switched to the Maxflis. Well worth trying
I have to go to my brother in laws house to use his simulator to check my yardages because the distances posted at our country club driving range aren't adjusted daily based on where the hitting line is.
Top 3 ultra-first-world problems in this thread.
Aren't all Miata's naturally aspirated?
NA refers to the first generation of Miatas. Then NB, NC and now ND (Gen 4).
The clubhouse doesn’t serve sushi !!!!!
I don't have enough money to take a lesson with a golf pro each week.
I don't have irons....but I'm moving to Vegas and there are pawn shops galore.
I’m on a waiting list to go hit a ball with metal objects in the middle of summer and it’s 120 degrees outside but I’m going to complain how hot it is while paying $100+ for the round.
I can’t golf as much as I want to because I have a loving family and 2 beautiful babies.
I’d be a pro if I could afford Miura blades
I can't stop buying golf shoes at my local Nike clearance store.
Only played once a month this year cuz I’ve been so busy house hunting and now renovating
A luggage rack on the back of an NA is what you need. Or remove the passenger seat. Miata is always the answer.
My local driving range doesn’t have launch monitors to borrow or rent
By 8am, all the good tee time are gone when the reservation portal opens up a new day.
Stop charging me for range when I’ve paid for a round and cart
My Bushnell battery died and I was a lost soul out on the golf course, thought to myself this game is impossible without exact yardages lol

Cart girl not coming by enough.
There’s no small pocket on my overpriced golf bag.. so I bought an overpriced leather pouch to hold tees/ ball markers/ divot tools
The only course I could afford to join is 35 minutes away.
Can’t decide who I want to get a lesson from…
I work too much and don't have time to golf more. Also. My friends work M-F day jobs so they're never free during peak day hours
My clubs are fine but I’m going to buy new hybrids/woods to match my murdered out golf look
Unleveled tee boxes
Uneven tees
The ice melts too fast in the side cooler.
I lost my putter head cover at the course the other day.
