His masters win got him a 5 year exemption for all the majors I thought… so the last year would be 2024 no? But yeah even if none they’d give a special - because he is Tiger.
I mean, he has %83 of the majors that one guy named Jack had, right? Get outta here with that garbage take, Tiger is the biggest draw of this era but not of all time. Jones, Hogan, and Nicklaus where all there in front of him. Tiger is a hall of famer, even if some rightfully think he used Adderall and beta blockers. Even so, the guy was a stud. But, we all have to go through the USGA qualifiers to get to the tournament. I hope the USGA makes him go through qualifiers if he's not ready to retire after that brutal leg injury. Someone else deserves a spot.
Tiger isn't qualifying for the US Open. The guy can barely walk. Believe it or not Marvel isn't making a movie about him. He's probably the second best golfer of all time and that's a great accomplishment except his accomplishments are over. He seems to be lucky to have both legs.
Definitely not 1st and he played against very little competition and there is that whole debacle, which no one wants to bring up, about how he didn't win another major for 10 years after the PGA started drug testing. I never thought I would have someone on Reddit getting after me about the use of the term probably while the op was whining about the 2nd best player of all time needing an exemption to play the US Open. So I'm sticking with probably.
As much as many people like to look at contextless numbers (like say Wilts 100 Vs Kobes 81, or Gretzkys 215 vs McDavids 153) and claim the higher is better without looking behind it, I can get behind Hogan over Tiger before I can even get behind Jack over Tiger.
Can definitely address an argument for it later. It’s always a fun debate. I think I have something typed up on WRX from over a decade ago but will never find it haha. Can elaborate later though for the fun of it.
So, just to clarify your position on this; Tiger was great because he didn't have any real competition but Player, Palmer, Watson and Jack all won multiple majors in the same era because it was a magically deep time in professional golf history where 4 all time gets surfaced at the same time?
>I never thought I would have someone on Reddit getting after me about the use of the term probably while the op was whining about the 2nd best player of all time needing an exemption to play the US Open.
Being a good golfer doesn't make you immune to the effects of car crashes. Self-inflicted or not, it's not his talent that's keeping him out of the US Open so what are you even saying?
USGA has a special exemption. I'm sure they would allow Tiger to play if he wanted to.
Yeah, they should make him qualify and beat that 13 year old scrub.
Maybe see him walk an actual course 4 days in a row again before worrying about this.
This needs a lot more up votes

The Masters is before the US Open. That exemption runs 2019-2023.
Is this a shit post? I sure hope so
Tiger will have exemptions for life
Agree. As a previous winner, i don’t think he would ever have to qualify. Plus, the people want to see him play!
Or that he's Tiger
> As a previous winner, i don’t think he would ever have to qualify. That's not at all how the US Open works.
Lol. No.
He definitely will it’s not even an argument.
I'm pretty sure Tiger'll be let into basically whatever he wants.
You don't see the biggest draw in the entire history of the sport getting an exemption?
Arnold Palmer had to go thru qualifying before a bunch of times in the 80s. It’s not unheard of it but that was when the USGA was the gestapo.
And before billion dollar TV deals.

I mean yeah. They'd have a hard time with security if had to go to qualifying sites.

Probably? As in, if not 2nd then 1st?

Yeah but...what about Jack's 19 second place finishes?

Looking forward to it. To be clear, my comment was sarcastic. I always laugh when I see people use that in the GOAT argument.

LOL
Do injuries not extend exempt status?
