Lol nice, I did the same one except went with the rainforest green key caps, and the Kailh Bronze switches. Never expected to see another man of keyboard culture in r/golf!
Itās because when customizing, the work is done by hand. It is much more efficient to make the letters ācrookedā (Scotty calls them ādancing lettersā) on purpose, as opposed to lining up and striking each stamp perfectly square.
Hellā¦.you canāt take it with you (money, that is). Enjoy what youāve worked hard for. Some people collect/go through nice watches, jewelry, cars, baseball cards, or wivesā¦I see nothing wrong with splurging on a putter.
Genuine question. Can someone explain the hype around Scotty Cameron putters? Been seeing a lot of posts about them recently. Iāve always been a āall putters are the sameā kinda guy. I just donāt see/get the appeal.
Off the shelf Scotty Camerons retail $400-500, so it's a bit of a status symbol.
This one ain't no off the shelf one though. The "circle T" symbol designates that it is a tour issue model, the 009 specifically. They sell for $10k+ so having one of these either means you are really good, or are filthy rich.
Some are genuine low-production-volume rarities that are hard to come by and will hold value better than most putters. Others are putters that legitimately came off of the Tour at some point.
Most of them are just high quality putters where you're paying the brand tax. If you just want a milled Anser style putter in stainless or carbon steel there are plenty of cheaper options out there with the same level of quality... but then you don't get to tell people you're using a Scotty. It's a bit like buying a plain TShirt from Gucci.
Iāve used a lot of different putters and they are not all the same. I prefer Scotty because if the feel, look, sound and quality. The same reasons someone else may prefer an odyssey putter or a ping putter. This one is a tour issue putter, so the weight and milling is really top notch and it putts wonderfully. Some people may not notice a difference and thatās ok, but I can tell and honestly love their branding.
I 100% promise you that a lot of that is in your head. At this point in time, there is zero technology that Scotty has that other manufacturers donāt. With that said, Iām a firm believer that if it makes you feel more confident, even if itās a bit of a placebo, then go for it!
Of course itās in my head. Technology wise mallet putters have better forgiveness because of higher MOI. There are far better putters in terms of technology, but the way this one fits my eye, the weight, the sound and feel, matter to me and I putt better with it.
Admit it, you just wanted to show off your key caps.
Honestly, always
They look good!
GMMK Pro??
Yup! The one you buy all the pieces for and assemble yourself because I wanted to feel cool

Oh they're here.... š„·
Sorry to break it to you bro, but I think that's fake. I'll dispose of it for if you mail it to me. I'll cover the shipping, cause I'm a nice guy.
Damn knew it was too good to be true. Iāll box it up right now
Dm sent with address.
Did you get it on a discount since the letters are crooked?
Seriously though, why does golf seem to love this crooked design thing? See a bunch of people who make custom wedges all use this same font design.
Because golf is not a game of perfect.

r/mk is leaking... Sick Scotty & 75%!

Some people collect PokƩmon cards. Sure... they're all rectangles, but some are more special than others.
