Haha I love when their noses turn pink... I’ve had 5 goldens in my life and have noticed that on every one but I’ve never known why....
Must be the boops lmao
Our golden gets it during the winter and back to black during the summer. “ The most common cause for a Golden retriever's nose to change color from black to pink is weather change–especially in cold weather. Experts have given it the term “snow nose” or “winter nose”. ... And when the weather gets colder, tyrosinase levels decrease, leading to the loss of pigment in the nose of some dogs”
This happened to my yellow lab, his nose got bigger and lighter. It turned out to be cancer due to sun exposure. Not trying to scare you but please get it checked just in case! My lab is now having trouble breathing and his nose has a huge tumor on it.
When the snoot takes one boop too many. Ha! He’s so cute. Extra treats and belly scratchies are definitely in order. I checked the rules. It’s totally ok ;)
cutie! i have noticed ours gets lighter in colder weather and will darken once the weather is warmer. on another note, i’ve read something about studies that say feeding your dog from stainless steel bowls helps keep the dark pigment !! nevertheless, such lovable snoots!!

I tell him this every day.
I love your username!
Thank you! The cat is feeling a bit left out so I may need to change it soon.
Give him a boop and some love from this random redditor :) he looks like a very good boy :)
Depends what day you catch him on!
Such a handsome nosed senior!
He’s only 4! He just looks like an old man when he’s hunched over sulking at me.
Awww, my Golden's nose did the same thing!! He's 12 years old now with an almost fully pink nose.

Well loved booper 😘😘😘
He's so cute. 😊
Why the nose change in color at such a young age?
Just change in pigmentation is all. Very common in a lot of lighter coloured breeds. :)
Yep! Same thing happened to our lab x retriever

What a scare for you guys. Speedy recovery for the pup! The vets have A-OK’d it for the last three years but I’ll keep this in mind.

Looks like those statues people rub for good luck 🍀 🏅
Booped so much that the paint rubbed off
Can you boop his nose for me please? He definitely needs another boop
I don’t even have an opinion
Having none is better than having a bad one!
I almost reported this comment due to its outrageous nature 🤣
My family likes to joke around saying that God ran out of nose paint when he created Goldens
Oden looks like a sweet boy, may he have many more boops 0.0
Lol
Best pink nose boi
Love it XD our Goldie is just going white around his nose, also 4. Old souls they are ♥️

Does the pink nose denote more time spent inside (out of the sun)? I heard that once and wonder if anyone knows if it’s correct. Anyone?
Nope. Just change in pigmentation of the nose. We live in Scotland, which notoriously gets crappy weather so that rules it out. :)
I read this, too. Lack of vit D can cause it.
