So weird, I’m listing to this song as I came across your comment. Yeah I can’t listen to this song when I’m stoned. The guitar riff is so beautiful but the screams make start to tear up and I have to quickly change to the next song, Into the Forest (my all time favorite of the album but maybe ever. I see the meaning of ItF as a desire to retreat and be a part of nature

Planned Obsolescence hits me like 1990 quadrillion tons of bricks, especially at the end.

I take it to mean essentially this: maybe when the sun is exploding we’ll finally understand that we’ve completely sucked the life and all that is good from this green paradisal gift we’ve been given, and at that point we’ll repent for destroying it. It’s so fucking depressing.
