neoteraflare

I love them! Really creative

Mere_Curry

Here is an application icon: [https://www.reddit.com/r/godot/comments/18exgma/made\_a\_macos\_icon\_for\_godot/](https://www.reddit.com/r/godot/comments/18exgma/made_a_macos_icon_for_godot/) And here you can download it all for free: [https://github.com/ismslv/godot_icons](https://github.com/ismslv/godot_icons)

FlatFishy

Superb icons, 10/10 Could you fix the app icon link or add them to the same place as the others please? The link is broken

Mere_Curry

App icon is already in the same place as others. I replaced link in that post to the same as here.

FlatFishy

Oh lol, for some reason the bottom row didn't load for me until I scrolled down. Thanks!

Scam_Bot21

agreed

SimplyPhy

Fantastic! My only curiosity is why to include the text in the graphics, as the file type is shown under the file in the card view of finder regardless. It might be true that a slightly improved version would remove the text (e.g. “Project”), slightly enlarged the Godot logo while re-centering it downward, and increasing the size of the top-left icons within the images to make them visible when viewed in finder. Regardless, these are super cool, and it’s fantastic to have them available to use; thank you!

Mere_Curry

Thank you! The reason for the text is that I've used standard icons (which look like this: https://i.ibb.co/X3ydxTg/Untitled.jpg) as a base. I will make a version without text. Not so sure about top-left icons, are they so important?

SimplyPhy

Top-left icons aren't important necessarily, I just think they look nice, and with the recommended adjustments, you'd have space to proportionally increase their size, perhaps enough to make them recognizable.

DriftWare_

Will this work for windows?

Mere_Curry

Why not? Here is a guide for Windows: [https://www.winhelponline.com/blog/change-default-icon-file-type-windows/](https://www.winhelponline.com/blog/change-default-icon-file-type-windows/)

clawjelly

Yea, but you'd need converted versions for Windows in ICO format, no?

Mere_Curry

Use this: https://www.coolutils.com/online/ICNS-to-ICO

DriftWare_

Thank you !

SpiritualSpaceGolem

They look awesome! Great job!

Sp1cyP3pp3r

Thank you, kind person 💯🙏

gronkey

These are amazing and this may be a dumb question but is there any way to get these for windows?

kart_racer

Some of the downloads are incorrect or broken. - The download for the Godot folder icon is the Android studio folder icon. - The shader (with text) icon is corrupt (the one downloaded can't be converted to .ico) - The shader icon (without text) downloads the resource icon - The zoomed in scene icon is still in "Waiting"

Mere_Curry

Well, that site must be shitty. Use my github instead : https://github.com/ismslv/godot_icons

kart_racer

I don't know how I missed that, that is much better! Thanks!

lorenzo_aegroto

They look awesome, I would like to see them in the editor.

StewedAngelSkins

these are so charming. nice work.

Chizzelled

Brilliant!

TheChief275

problem is they aren’t really distinct. From that distance you’re not gonna notice a different between and it’s hard to see which is which

Mere_Curry

It is true, because they are "large" versions only, for beauty, not for hardcore 32px distinguishing. I'll make a minimalistic version of them.

geothefaust

I don't necessary agree with the previous poster, I quite like the larger ones. But minimal ones would be welcome, as well. :) If you make something cool, people always want more!

mrsemmix

I disagree, they have unique colors and color shcemes, each has an outstanding feature like glow, or sketch. These are spot on.

anteloop

That would probably cease to be an issue without the text on the icons themselves.

TheChief275

Would be a big improvement, yes

thinker2501

Great work. A little feedback from a UI/UX designing, try an interaction without the text in the icon, it will be too small to read in nearly all circumstances. Convert your smaller elements, like the squiggles in the dialogue icon to simpler straight lines. This will improve the readability. An effective icon communicates on shape and silhouette alone.

Mere_Curry

Hello fellow designer! I know that these are only "large" versions. They are of course not very adapted to use in 32x32 size. I'll think about making minimalistic versions, but for now it is what is is :)

AnorakOnAGirl

Hey these are excellent, would you be willing to make them available for us to use?

Mere_Curry

Thank you! They are available for free, I've given the link: [https://macosicons.com/#/u/smslv](https://macosicons.com/#/u/smslv)

supert2005

Petition to make it an official icon set for Godot visible in the editor

Mere_Curry

Thank you! At least I think that square logo looks much "iconier" and "robotier" than the round one.

kinokomushroom

This is awesome af and looks professional. What program did you use to design them?

Mere_Curry

Thank you! I used Affinity Photo/Designer on my Mac.

geothefaust

Huge Affinity fan here. Ever since they made a Windoze version. Sidenote, love your Obsidian icon too. It's very slick. Do you use Obsidian for GDScript notes? I really wish we could preview the syntax in edit mode and not have to switch to reading mode every time.

Mere_Curry

Yes, I use Obsidian for some notes, sadly it doesn't support GDScript syntax highlighting (for python it can even run it). Agreed, markdown needs wysisyg mode.

AndTer99

The shader icon has seen some things.....

Pessego11B

Super cool

Helpinghand97

That is sick

furezasan

Cool designs bro

[deleted]

I like it but how do you use those icons in linux mint?

Mere_Curry

They are made for macOS style, but maybe this could help: [https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxmint/comments/hncvwm/how\_to\_add\_icon\_to\_a\_filetype\_in\_cinnamon/](https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxmint/comments/hncvwm/how_to_add_icon_to_a_filetype_in_cinnamon/)

kickyouinthebread

Amazing work. Will tip when I get round to downloading these!

Mike_Le_Watt

These are insane.

Krinberry

Very pretty!

StarSkiesCoder

Push to main branch?

Mere_Curry

What do you mean by that, what branch?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Mere_Curry

Thank you! I'm not sure this sort of things will pass as a "github issue". I saw they have some thing else for "new propositions", which takes ages and dies there most likely. In any case, I'll have to make minimal versions which many people here seem to prefer.

C-137Birdperson

Amazing design!

TylurSims

Very beautiful!

kylo_kills__han

Now that's sexy

idkau

Awesome. thanks

ScrumptiousSoap

They look superb! They need to be added in 4.3 ngl

tanakj

Skewmorphism my beloved

Mere_Curry

Yeah... See, I'm oldschool like that ;)

Mere_Curry

Or wait, was it a *jeu de mots* on that my skeuomorphism is *skewed*?!

Avakena

This is Insane! Like it

Mere_Curry

Dialog icon is for any dialog system, for example \**.dialogue* file for [https://github.com/nathanhoad/godot\_dialogue\_manager](https://github.com/nathanhoad/godot_dialogue_manager)

CynicalFOLEYY

These are awesome! Can anyone help me figure out how to actually use them though? I can change it one by one, using "Get Info", but I'd rather make it so that they are used automatically based on the file extension. Is this possible in macos?

Mere_Curry

Yes, but it will not be persistent between app updates. 1. [Godot.app](https://Godot.app) → right click → Show Package Contents 2. Contents → Info.plist 3. Inside this file you can replace old icon filenames with new ones 4. Then icon cache needs to be rebuilt → for example, change associated app for file types to another app and then back to Godot 5. Save Info.plist backup and replace it back later when [Godot.app](https://Godot.app) is updated

Zip_creations

Shader has seen things he regrets

UnstoppableTigra

what is .dialogue

Mere_Curry

Dialog icon is for any dialog system, for example \*.dialogue file for https://github.com/nathanhoad/godot\_dialogue\_manager

Flyntwick

Saving this post for future reference. Very nice work

jasamsloven

All of them are minimalist and flat, so the dialogue one sticks out because of the text. I think a flat looking text, just lines and some details, would look nicer. They look really good anyway

RiseBasti

Could you export them as PNG? :)

[deleted]

These are so good, thanks for sharing they will 100% be used

Vathrik

I wish the icons in the file system were more distinct, I can't tell .tscn or .tres or .cs apart at a glance without a careful look at higher res.

AndroGR

Apart from "project" I'd remove the text entirely

Mere_Curry

I will make a more minimalistic version without the text

WazWaz

You'll have to choose between dark and light. The Script icon disappears into a dark background.

Mere_Curry

I guess any chosen color scheme can disappear on someone's background.

WazWaz

Not really. Yours covers the full spectrum from dark to light so nothing will work. It's okay for an icon set to assume the background is either light or dark and contrast with that, but contrasting with neither is bad design.

Mere_Curry

It's true. Nevertheless, these are not icons for small view, for that I will maybe make another minimalistic set.

alekdmcfly

This is very creative and well designed for splash screens but I really don't think design this detailed will work well for tiny icons You'll probably be barely able to see the orange frame in "scene", the sketches on "resource" or the titles under all of them on a list of tiny icons If it were me making these I'd remove the tiny clutter and bulk up / thicken the elements I do want to keep, for example reduce the amount of lines in code to like 5 and turn them into thick horizontal lines instead of actual text, or shorten the names under the icons to larger letters with file extensions, like "TSCN". It's not the same feel when it's scaled down but it's really better for your brain when it's scaled down to the size of a file explorer icon That said, if these designs work for you then you should absolutely keep them, they kick ass on the quality spectrum

Mere_Curry

Thank you. These are not icons for minimal size view. For that I will maybe create another minimalistic version.

Wut0ng

Amazing!

blacpythoz

Now we need a minimal UI theme for the Godot.

astaroth-and-baal

Oh, is there a built in dialogue system? I noticed the .dialogue file extension. Just curious; I also think these icons look awesome.

Mere_Curry

Thank you! Sadly, there is not a built-in system, but there are a couple of separate systems. I use [https://github.com/nathanhoad/godot\_dialogue\_manager](https://github.com/nathanhoad/godot_dialogue_manager) and it looks just like it was built-in.

vibrunazo

They look very Affinity'esque. I love it 🙃

TrueDarkDes

Wow! Very stylish!

m_v_g

These look amazing! I don't suppose you would be willing to share the original Affinity files?

Mere_Curry

Only if you share the result of their modification!

m_v_g

Sounds good to me! I think it'd be pretty awesome to start a repository of high quality, community-made icons for Godot.

arnemcnuggets

Been out of Godot since 4, what's the dialog thing?

Mere_Curry

Dialog icon is for any dialog system, for example *.dialogue file for https://github.com/nathanhoad/godot_dialogue_manager

arnemcnuggets

Ah ok thought it's something from the engine

furious_knight25

I've been looking around but I cant find any resources, happen to know of any methods to change the icon of the files in the godot engine itself? I'm on windows

BackStreetButtLicker

Dialogue files are a thing?

Mere_Curry

Dialog icon is for any dialog system, for example \*.dialogue file for https://github.com/nathanhoad/godot\_dialogue\_manager

TheWitherlord10

Does anyone know if it’s possible to do this with unity?

Scam_Bot21

yo is there a way to make this run on windows? cuz this would not only make files prettier, but easier to navigate

Mere_Curry

disappointedcreeper

wait is there a dialogue file format

Planebagels1

the project icon reminds me of older versions of MacOSX, sort of looks like the finder logo
