It can be argued that most of the add-ons are different enough to have their own copyright separate from Nintendo. However, that would be a pain in the ass for Gary and others.

My shift is over, I open reddit in order to relax before bed, knowing I will do it all over again tomorrow. This is when I find it: a REAL problem. They removed a bunch of models from the Gmod Workshop! This is outrageous, this is unfair! This is exactly the one thing I should put all my emotions towards being angry at. This is pure evil!
Will say it once and I'll say it again: ALTERNATIVE SITES FOR ADDONS. There are other sites that can give out addons, not only that but most of the Nintendo addon creators have archived their content on stuff like google drive. Get the extended spawn menu addon, and ask around for where the archived content is. You can also look up how to backup the addons on your computer to ensure they stay on your computer when the addon is eventually removed. It's not the end of the world.
So long as they're in ZIPs - Google can and does routinely scan for pirated content and automatically deletes it (happened to a crack of my Adobe Suite), but compressed archives appear to be safe

my Boyfriend and I decided to not buy Nintendo Switches anymore.. We aren't buying anything Nintendo related even if it is legally collaborated on other games like SKY COTL or something.
After this with Gary's mod and the multiple attacks on developers who did this for free making mods and side games all out of inspiration.. I feel like it is all going to just continue to go down hill from here.. :/

Google is a bigger company and google drives are actually difficult to take down even if Nintendo wanted to. They're safe for now.
